My heart goes out for Bountiful. My senior year our region opener against Snow Canyon went about the same way. We had an illegal substitution while setting up for the gamewinning field goal so the game went into overtime. We held them to a field goal and on our possession ran two plays down to the 8 yard line and looked poised to score a TD and end the game then we fumbled the center exchange and SC recovered. Most stunning way to end a game, I can't imagine a season ending that way. Congrats Bonneville, your D sounds tough so I hope we bring our A-game next week when you come down.
Dixie watch out We are sons of Bonneville
you'll see frist hand what PAY THE PRICE is all about and too bad ur our next victory.
but Dixie nice win in the frist round
and thats my two cents
Yeah ditto to Dixie Alum... That fumble bounced right behind me as I pulled and ran right into the qb. That loss was extremely difficult to deal with.
I was expecting to see Bountiful come down next week, but congrats on the win. The Bonneville D looks tough, but they'll need to stay very disciplined with Mike Sharp and John Matuauto.. they can take any play to the house!
Once again nobody thought the lakers would win but for the third straight year they pull off the first round upset. It's not really an upset for those of us who have watched this defense shut down one high powered offense after another. There's still room on the bandwagon for those still in doubt. I for one can't wait to travel to sunny St. George to see if the Lakers can pull off another "upset". Good luck to Coach Williams and his staff. Go Lakers!
We are the Lakers and don't you forget it! I'll be there to watch you drop the anchor and shoot down the Flyers.
For a school that prides everything they have on the football program Bountiful sure loses in the first round a lot.
One thing you can count on next week is Bonneville bringing the same defense they've had all year. I wouldn't be running my mouth about how special you think Dixie football is, especially when a 3A team won your region!
Not to poor salt in Bountiful's wound but hopefully they learned that talk is cheap. So much for being in the "easy" bracket huh?
I'll bet that was a long quite ride back to Bountiful last night.
Mr. Edwards,
In your article on the Bonneville/Bountiful game you use the spelling of Bonneville as
"Bonne?ville's" twice with a question mark inserted . After last night's game, I think you take the question out of Bonneville now!
That's too bad for Bountiful. Coach Larry Wall has never placed much of an emphasis on offense and his teams tend to underperform in the playoffs for that reason. No strategic offensive game plan. No orginality in offensive play calling. Just the same old plays for the past 20 plus years. I think it's time for a change!
There seems to be something missing today in the comment section, what could it be? Oh... I know. It is all those boasting comments about how well Bountiful took care of business last night and decimated Bonneville and will now breeze on through the bracket -since there isn't any real competition for them in their bracket of teams.
Bonneville 14
Bountiful 7
Mr. Parry, You got one wrong!
I'll bet that was a really quiet ride back to Bountiful last night!
want to replace a coach that has won four state titles...okay. Good luck with that one.
4 State Championships in a coaching career does not sound like an under performance. Not a very talented offensive football team at Bountiful this year. When you don't have talent on that side of the ball you have to play it close to the vest and let a good defense win a lot of games which they did. An average coach at Bountiful would have won six games this year. A great coach got them to nine. You guys really have gotten to spoiled!
Hey Bountiful,
You are so high on PRIDE. Have fun sitting home this weekend. We will be in the desert relaxing in 70 degree temperatures. Get your ski pass out cause football is over for you.
Hey Bountiful maybe next year HUH ? OVERRATED you were in the easy bracket and you couldnt get by the first game.
Good job lakers, as a former player from last year i know that the defense is always the one saving their ass. But the offense needs to pick it up and needs to prove that they are capable of going one step further then we did. Good job
The coach at Dixe aint no joke. The Lakers better be ready! (They will be) As far as the Dixe Alumni talking about losing........get use to it.
i guess that is why they tell us to not over look anyone..... timpview do you even play? all season you have just been on the internet posting comments. so let your real players do the talk on the field and you sideline kids stay off the websites
