Dixie Alum | 10:39 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
My heart goes out for Bountiful. My senior year our region opener against Snow Canyon went about the same way. We had an illegal substitution while setting up for the gamewinning field goal so the game went into overtime. We held them to a field goal and on our possession ran two plays down to the 8 yard line and looked poised to score a TD and end the game then we fumbled the center exchange and SC recovered. Most stunning way to end a game, I can't imagine a season ending that way. Congrats Bonneville, your D sounds tough so I hope we bring our A-game next week when you come down.
Laker Spirit | 10:41 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Dixie watch out We are sons of Bonneville
you'll see frist hand what PAY THE PRICE is all about and too bad ur our next victory.
but Dixie nice win in the frist round
and thats my two cents
DHS Alum | 11:22 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Yeah ditto to Dixie Alum... That fumble bounced right behind me as I pulled and ran right into the qb. That loss was extremely difficult to deal with.
I was expecting to see Bountiful come down next week, but congrats on the win. The Bonneville D looks tough, but they'll need to stay very disciplined with Mike Sharp and John Matuauto.. they can take any play to the house!

Once again nobody thought the lakers would win but for the third straight year they pull off the first round upset. It's not really an upset for those of us who have watched this defense shut down one high powered offense after another. There's still room on the bandwagon for those still in doubt. I for one can't wait to travel to sunny St. George to see if the Lakers can pull off another "upset". Good luck to Coach Williams and his staff. Go Lakers!
St. George Laker | 12:14 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
We are the Lakers and don't you forget it! I'll be there to watch you drop the anchor and shoot down the Flyers.
Hahaha | 12:44 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
For a school that prides everything they have on the football program Bountiful sure loses in the first round a lot.
Re: Dixie Alum | 8:38 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
One thing you can count on next week is Bonneville bringing the same defense they've had all year. I wouldn't be running my mouth about how special you think Dixie football is, especially when a 3A team won your region!
Not to poor salt in Bountiful's wound but hopefully they learned that talk is cheap. So much for being in the "easy" bracket huh?
I'll bet..... | 10:05 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
I'll bet that was a long quite ride back to Bountiful last night.
Dear Mr. Edwards: | 10:13 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Mr. Edwards,
In your article on the Bonneville/Bountiful game you use the spelling of Bonneville as
"Bonne?ville's" twice with a question mark inserted . After last night's game, I think you take the question out of Bonneville now!
Joel | 10:15 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
That's too bad for Bountiful. Coach Larry Wall has never placed much of an emphasis on offense and his teams tend to underperform in the playoffs for that reason. No strategic offensive game plan. No orginality in offensive play calling. Just the same old plays for the past 20 plus years. I think it's time for a change!
There seems.... | 10:26 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
There seems to be something missing today in the comment section, what could it be? Oh... I know. It is all those boasting comments about how well Bountiful took care of business last night and decimated Bonneville and will now breeze on through the bracket -since there isn't any real competition for them in their bracket of teams.
Oh, Oh.... | 10:28 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Bonneville 14
Bountiful 7

Mr. Parry, You got one wrong!
I'll Bet... | 10:33 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
I'll bet that was a really quiet ride back to Bountiful last night!
So some Bountiful parents/fans | 11:23 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
want to replace a coach that has won four state titles...okay. Good luck with that one.
Coach Wall | 11:27 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
4 State Championships in a coaching career does not sound like an under performance. Not a very talented offensive football team at Bountiful this year. When you don't have talent on that side of the ball you have to play it close to the vest and let a good defense win a lot of games which they did. An average coach at Bountiful would have won six games this year. A great coach got them to nine. You guys really have gotten to spoiled!
Lakers | 11:28 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Hey Bountiful,
You are so high on PRIDE. Have fun sitting home this weekend. We will be in the desert relaxing in 70 degree temperatures. Get your ski pass out cause football is over for you.
Timpview | 11:32 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Hey Bountiful maybe next year HUH ? OVERRATED you were in the easy bracket and you couldnt get by the first game.
Senoir of 09 | 12:02 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Good job lakers, as a former player from last year i know that the defense is always the one saving their ass. But the offense needs to pick it up and needs to prove that they are capable of going one step further then we did. Good job
MacInnes | 12:06 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
The coach at Dixe aint no joke. The Lakers better be ready! (They will be) As far as the Dixe Alumni talking about losing........get use to it.
bountiful | 12:34 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
i guess that is why they tell us to not over look anyone..... timpview do you even play? all season you have just been on the internet posting comments. so let your real players do the talk on the field and you sideline kids stay off the websites
brave | 12:55 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Lakers- show some class to those boys from bountiful whose state dreams were ended last night. It's now in your hands to carry on the dream. Have some respect for that. Watch your own pride. Or you will fall. HARD.
Haha | 1:00 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Just like last year haha
Blue Blood | 2:00 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Wow...Bonneville has a talent of talking smack...okay...I am certain your team is the best ever in the state of Utah. That there is no team in the state that can even play in the same stadium...that you are perfect in every aspect of your game. Listen everyone...BONNEVILLE ranks themselves number #1. Just a hint...you had better bring that confidence with you to St. George. It is a long COLD ride back to the riverbed.
Boy you would think... | 2:03 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
...that Bonne?ville won the Super Bowl by 50 points. Let me review the score boys...you barely won, in over time, not because you did something right, but because Bountiful coughed up a turn over.
Blessing in disguise? | 3:42 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
The paper called Bountiful's region 6 #2 seed a blessing in disguise. I'd rather be playing Mt. Crest in the "tough bracket" than sitting at home.
BOUNTIFUL......? | 3:43 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
boy you would think. it sure looks like bonne?ville did something right. bountiful i thought had it made to the championship "the lower bracket would be cake walk" is what i recall you guys saying. well looks like the almighty bountiful, wasnt so mighty if they were gonna walk through to the championship you would think that they would have beat bonne?ville oh well talks cheap have fun turning in your pads cause bonneville gets to keep playing.
Nice try bountiful way to overlook a great bonneville football team, i expect them to be playing for the ship!

L.A.kers | 5:19 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
This is why Bonneville will win state.

Bonneville beat Bountiful who beat Lone Peak would beat Mountain Crest & Brighton who beat Alta who beat Pleasant Grove who beat Timpview who beat Highland (ID) who beat Juan Diego who beat Springville who beat Spanish Fork who beat Pine View who beat Desert Hills who beat Hurricane who beat Dixie. Go back to Highland (ID). They also beat Highland (UT) who beat Woods Cross & Hunter who beat Cottonwood who beat Viewmont who beat Davis who beat Syracuse who beat Skyline!

That means that Bonneville has pretty much already beat every team that is left in 4A and every team that is left in 5A, except Bingham.

This is Bonnevilles year! Go Lakers! We Numba One!
to L.A.kers | 9:01 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
so what, you guys beat some teams that beat other very good teams. but thats football, there are upsets. there is no way you guys will beat timpview. they are just to fast to strong and to talented. did mention to talented. and mt crest is a very good ball club. look for a great game bewtween tv and mc in the semi finals. but tv will advance to the championship for the 4th straight year and win.even if we have to play you guys.
Anonymous | 9:23 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
ok L.A.kers, I really really hope you are kidding. because if you are serous I think you may be the dumest person in utah, the logic in that statement is just stupid, and if it does anything it just shows that any team can beat any other team on any given night.

so I wish the remaining teams in the playoffs much luck at this point your the top 8 in your program, its anybody's game.
To Re: Dixie Alum and I'll bet.. | 10:30 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
You and the other Lakers fans on here are a joke and caused me to lose respect for your fans. I still respect your team for the season they've played and their win this weekend, which is exactly what I said before, but your praises are about as premature as the L.A. Lakers fans shouting "MVP" after Kobe makes a shot IN THE PRESEASON. It should be a great game to watch but you'll find out next week what class in winning a game is about as you see John Matuauto and Dallen Reber crack some skulls and then pick up the poor fool that tried to tackle them on their way to the end zone.

To I'll bet...: Bountiful was already at home so no "ride back to Bountiful" was necessary.
Dufuss | 10:46 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
The game was played at Bonneville. Get the facts before you write.
What make you think | 12:51 p.m. Nov. 1, 2009
that all the comments on this board are Laker fans? Bountiful made their bed and now they have to sleep in it...Bountiful fans were running their mouths and now what? Season over (clap, clap, clap-clap-clap)!
Anonymous | 1:27 p.m. Nov. 1, 2009
To all the people who say that Bountiful though they had won state are poorly educated about Bountifuls mentality None of the players thought that way some fans might have but none of the players. Good job to Bonneville go win state
Dixie Boyz | 2:37 p.m. Nov. 1, 2009
You Lakers talk about how pridefull Bountiful is. take a look in the mirror it looks like they past there infection on to you.
Realistic | 7:02 p.m. Nov. 1, 2009
I went to bonneville and dont get me wrong they are pretty good this year but lets just take it one step at a time the last couple years we've won first round and then lost in the second round. So before we start talking about state championships and timpview and mountain crest lets focus on this weekend against a pretty good dixie team. Good luck B-ville you guys can win just dont overlook them
former laker | 10:15 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
lakers let the bountiful game go it was great but its in the past! If the great coach Budge could speak to you he would tell you to ignore all this internet chatter and do your talking on the field with your pads! I,m sure coach Williams is saying the same thing. This Dixie will come prepared and ready. you need to prepare for them just like you prepare for a Sky View, Mt. Crest, or a Bountiful.
Football fan skyview | 9:32 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Good luck Lakers you guys have kicked butt! Too bad your Qb is out, he had a heck of a game against us skyview! Go prove em all wrong and win state!
B-ville coach wife | 10:06 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
First of all Laker's you did a great job and Congrats on the win....As always you were the underdog coming in but that didnt stop you from Wanting the Win and taking it from them!! I am so proud of you guys and the coaches for not giving up. I cant wait to see you guys play this week in St. George. Pay the Price...
