Way to come out and play hard the second half. Donny, way to step up and play great after Lloyd's injury. One huge td pass and a huge interception says alot. hats off to Riverton. You came out playing like you had nothing to lose or hold back. See you next week Davis
Didn't see the game but why doesn't Riverton kick the FG and go up by more than a FG? To me that would be the smart play at that point of the ball game.
What happened to Lloyd, anyone know? Looks like Lewis really stepped it up though.
Just from observation, appeared to be an ankle injury. Im not worried one bit those with lewis coming in and playing like he did
rolling along to a state championship!!
Go Vikings!!! Way to show serious HEART out there!!!!
Lewis came in with a lot of heart. He was the most excited player out there. Hats of to Riverton. Riverton was fast and physical. Way to play hard pg, you need to come more fired up against Davis.
Grades
Offense: C, while Lewis stepped up nicely again, and Harris and Fanaika looked good, the offense was not firing on all cylinders
Offensive Line: C-, 1 or 2 decent blocking series is not enough for the playoffs.
Defense: C+, Lewis and Doman had big INT's for the team, secondary did a decent job at defending the pass. Need to work on tackles!
Defensive Line: C-, you got ran over all night! I was horrified as I watched the whole line get pushed back time after time. Riverton ran the ball at will. Kruger did do a good job at backfield disruption however.
Special Teams: D+, the weak spot of the team. kick off was bad and field goal team was close to or getting blocked all night again.
Coaches: How can the head coach who is also the line coach sleep at night as he completely neglects the line? That is the bread and butter of your team! Don't you get it Sampson? Embarrassing!
You sound like a bitter X player who was no good as a player. I guess you and mommy @ daddy are still blaming the head coach. It is called genetics blame mommy & daddy. Leave the coach alone.
You should be proud of the effort you gave.It did not turn out the way you wanted but you came out and gave it your best shot. Better luck next year.
I'm worried PG. Riverton beat us up and down the field, they lost the game for us. I am afraid Davis won't make the mistakes Riverton did. I hope we come better prepared next week.
Bingham Killed riverton
This was Rivertons game and they handed it to PG with turnovers. Interception time after time when they should have been running the ball. PG could not stop them on the ground. They were destroying PG on the ground and then on 2nd and 2 yards they pass and get it intercepted? Then more passing and INT, and again, and again. If Riverton would have run the ball more and passed less they upset PG. Riverton should have converted the TD or field goal when they had the chance - momentum changer. This was a coaching loss not a player loss. Nice effort Riverton - PG not as good as they think - but they did get the win - so hats off.
I've read your comments all year and you have never been more wrong, in the know.
See ya. Thanks for playing and providing us with all of the "junior" talk. Time for you guys to get ready for a middle of the pack run in basketball in your region.
After attending the game last night I am now confident of one thing. All the hype about Region IV is just nonsense. It is a good Region but it's not as tough as some people think. They use the same thinking that Region I use to use about everybody beating up on one another in their Region. I know that a healthy Alta would have dominated that Region. Riverton who is quite weak was running through all kinds of holes in PG defense. If Riverton hadn't decided to try an throw the ball and give up touchdowns on those interceptions it might have been a different game. You won't be that lucky against Davis I don't think they try to throw as much. You'll need all the luck you can get. I hope we get a chance to meet in the finals.
Bingham Blue forever.
Not worried anymore!
Care to explain? I'm willing to listen.
The truth is PG was lucky to come away with a win last night, were you at the game? They capitalized when they needed to, got lucky on others (remember Rivertons 7 yard punt on their own 10?) Don't get me wrong, I am happy that we came away with a win, but nothing from that game makes me confident for Davis next week!
So, what would your grades be?
To the genetics parent: were you even at the game? Have you been to one all season? Have you seen how the line has struggled? Have you been to a practice? Just because you are related to Sampson, that does not make his wrongs right!
We found Donny because we needed him. He is a good QB. We need better offensive lineman and a better kicker. He misses as much as he makes. Sampson seems to stick with the same people even when they mess up. Last night we discovered that Kruger can play tight end. He can probably be an interior lineman if called upon. Bryce should be on Defense in short yardage. You can't teach size like his. We are underutlilizing our talent and it is Sampsons' fault. Find people that can do the job, regardless of where they are playing now. If we play this way again we are done next week. It has been about 6 weeks since we played a solid game.
Good game Vikings. Things need to be sured up though. Davis has one of the toughest running backs in the state this year and he is not afraid to lower the shoulder on anyone. Might be time to stack the box and cause problems in the backfield with blitzes of all kinds. Coach Brady will take care of that though. Hinds will get his yards, but this week will have to be "bend but not break" week for the defense. I expect a close game. Something around 21-17 or 24-21 but I think PG finds a way to get it done.
One and done again, it's like a broken record. I'm going to start cheering for that new school to the west. Maybe they won't keep breaking my heart.
your next!
