Alta better be ready, this is a different team then Week 1

Rout?

This game wasn't a rout. It was 10-7 until almost the fourth quarter. Viewmont held Cottonwood twice from getting into the endzone while they had the ball within 5 of the endzone. The only reason the score looks lobsided is that Viewmont had to go for it on fourth downs at the end of the game and turned the ball over with very short fields. Turnovers killed the Vikings just like it did against Bingham and Syracuse. Hats off to Cottonwood, they play with very few mistakes.

Re: Rout?

Come on Viewmont fan. Close to 500 yards of total offense and you don't think you got handled? You had less than 150 total offense. I admit we didn't score enough points, but you were dominated on the field. Thanks for making it a game. Hope these boys will be confident in their abilities next week!

I agree with above post. The game was 10-7 with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter and Viewmont had the ball. Hardly a rout. However it was apparent to me (first time seeing either team play) that Cottonwood was the better team with better coaching. The Cottonwood QB/RB were both solid. Viewmont had some nice players who looked capable as well. The difference from my standpoint was that Cottonwoods offense looked polished, they spread the field, they put their playmakers in positions where they could do their thing. Viewmonts offense on the other hand looked as vanilla as vanilla gets. I've seen little league teams play a more complex system than Viewmonts. Kind of surprising for a high school team.

Man that polamalu looking kid could fly!
Great game both sides a good battle go get em cwood

lucky

Viewmont was lucky to get the 3 seed. When the QB has more INT's then TD's, the defense kept them in most of the games. And their running. It was a frustrating year, especially when they had anothe QB sitting on the side that was as good, OR better than the coaches son.....ooops, I mean the other QB

Cwood, viewmont, alta

Viewmont is a good team. i was really impressed with number 21, their running back. Alta will see a much improved dedfense in cwood. Heimuli at MLB is fast and very physical, and moving Alberton back to a position (cb) that he knows how to play will help a lot. Cwood gave up three early touchdowns due to safety play earlier this year. The safety at cwood will make or break Alta's game. My opinion.

RE: Anonymous

Thank you! vanilla as vanilla gets... thats what viewmont fans have been saying ALL SEASON LONG. We have great recievers that never touch the ball...its been a frustrating year for anyone associated with viewmont football. The DEFENSE played awesome yesterday... the OFFENSE DIDNT DO THEIR PART.

no support.

After lookin at that video I feel sorry for cwood, it must be pretty boring playin for a total of about 5 fans in crowd. hahaha

re:no support

Nobody thought Viewmont would challenge C-wood, so you are right, hardly anybody came, and it ended up a blow-out of sorts.

Cwood Fans

Haha yeah I was one of the few students there and that was our smallest student section of the whole year... most of the kids I talked to after didn't even know there was a game. Being a day off and having the game at 4 really screwed up our fan section

ALTAFAN

RE COW COW, I certainly hope you're a lot better then in week one. That was disgraceful. We gave you a nice welcome to 5A and we'll very kindly show you why you shouldn't be here this next game :)

Re:ALTAFAN | 5:14 p.m. Oct. 31,

Altafan, you will be in Hiding after Friday night. You forget CW was 5A 5 Years ago and lost in The 5A Championship game to Davis in OT. Sure be nice to have 2800 students to choose our Team from.
I remember when I was in HS we put the Beat down on Alta 48-6. That was Nice. My HS had more Championships in 5 Years than Alta has ever Had. That Hurts, Loser!

ALTAFAN

RE Re:ALTAFAN, I won't go into hiding whether Alta wins or not. I'm enough of a man to step up and say my team lost to a better team if it happens. What school did you go to? More championships in 5 years then Alta has ever had? I don't think you went to CWood because their current football trophy count stands at a nice round 0! That hurts...

Re Re Alta fan

Sure would be nice for Alta to have the whole valley to choose from.

Cottonwood will most definitely be a better team than they showed the first game v Alta and not only do the coaches know it, the players do to. If Alta can get up early on them it will be a long game for CW, but if CW hangs around like Fremont did I don't think they'll fold as easily. The biggest fear I have is Alta killing themselves with terrible penalties, close second is that we get happy trying to throw deep and forget about the short and intermediate routes that have been there all season. Alta needs to get the ball to Liston, Mayne, and Morris and let them make defenders miss.
