Jerry, if Boozer will go hard to the basket and dunk the ball, he will do better on offense. But he hasn't done that for some time. But he has to learn how to play defense.

As for Paul, he was doing well in the first half and them he gets yanked. It is hard to be consistant when you get substituted like he does.
JR | 12:48 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why didn't we let Boozer go? We are going to go through the same old things we have in the last few years. Unfortunately, he is an overpaid athlete who needs to figure out if he really wants to play ball. Sad we don't have Harpring, CJ and Kyle right now. At least they have hustle and a big desire to win.
BOOzer | 1:35 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer lost the game for us! Too bad no one else wants him because it sure would be nice if the Jazz could get rid of him.

Not here BOOZ buddy, didn't you read the play "book", they only like unicorns here in BOUNTIFUL! Didn't you get the memo?

We didn't "let" Boozer go? That's kind of dumb. He was under contract and it was HIS sole option to try to leave. The market showed him what he's really worth. Look out for him to make less next year.

Sometimes your shot doesn't fall but that's when you should try to make a difference on D.
Eye See You Gone | 4:55 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Sorry Boozer, but you have to go. I want to see the Jazz trade you for someone who will play physical in the paint (something which you do not do).

You are simply not tough enough to make stops on people who run past you as if you are a fence post.
I Want A Championship | 5:01 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer is still here. It bothers me that local sports writers and Jazz management are trying to pursuade Jazz Fans to stick with Boozer after his sorry comments about playing for Chicago and Miami. Sorry, I can't do it. Trade him.

Dixie Dan | 7:07 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer is still rated one of the top 5 in the NBA for his position. So the Boozer haters who want to let him go, I have a question: who in the NBA wants to play for Utah? Not to many free agents beat a path to the Jazz in the off season.
what was that? | 7:50 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009

"Shake like a quake"??? are we back in elementary school and learning to rhyme?

Boozer says he was not repsonsible for the loss but if he has a normal game and we stop Denver rookie we win going away so who was responsible for the loss?

Lets bag the whiny fans. They are here and ranting about one game played by Boozer. Boozer is back because he is an all star and Sloan and KOC know how hard it is to win without all stars.

How many players who play tough in the paint are waiting in line to make Utah their next home? Trade Boozer for who? Get a grip people.

Millsap the newest millionaire played really soft and was not a factor in the Denver game. I am not sure what happened to his tough defense maybe he misses Harp, but that bothers me way more than Boozer having one bad game. I bet he has a great game tonight and I hope that Millsap shows up.
Anonymous | 8:09 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Ok Dixie Dan, just so you know, anybody is better than boozer right now. If booz was putting up 22 points a game, then you might have something to your lame excuse, but go back and look at Booz's game stats for the Denver game.

Geeezz!
Simply Pathetic | 8:22 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Talk, talk, talk how about shutting your mouths, all of you players and just walk the walk? Has anyone noticed the DeJuan Blair (who the Jazz passed on) has been playing for San Antonio? Opening night against the Hornets he played 22 minutes with 7 of 10 field goal shooting, 11 rebounds, 3 assists for a total of 14 points! This team does not know how to draft and analyze talent flat out. Eric Maynor give me a break. Gordan Suton another fiasco. Get the whole coaching staff and GM out of here yesterday please!
Everyone has a bad | 8:48 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
night once in a while. However, if Boozer had made 1/2 of his shots or if he had attacked the rim the Jazz proably would have won. Millsap was erratic at best. Both of them struggle when defending tall athletic teams.
@Simply Pathetic | 8:48 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
the draft is almost always a crapshoot. Hindsight is 20/20. As for Blair, a LOT of teams passed on him, he has injury issues. We're two games into the season. Let's see if he stays healthy. The Jazz are great at drafting. Millsap? Even Brewer at 13 might end up being a steal. Trading up to get D-Will? It's the easiest thing in the world to look around at the 29 other teams and hand-pick a few examples of players we "could have" drafted. Give me a break. You really think the Jazz should have drafted Blair when they already had Boozer and Millsap at that position?????
I was Hopeing | 9:13 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
that Booz was looking to get going to all the other teams he stated that he was going to last year. Based on his mouth he should sit the pine this year and then see what others think he is worth as a free agemt. He still believes he is worth more than he is. He has pulled the rest of the team down by thaling the talk and not walking the walk. Start Milsap who has proven to be a warrior and a hard worker.
Gucci Boozi | 9:49 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Hey boozer how's ur gucci shoes and diamond studded basketball doing? You should tattoo a picture of a sloth on your fore head!
Boozer looks to get going... | 10:16 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
out of Utah to Chicago? to Miami? Anywhere but a basketball court because after that performace he doesn't deserve to play.

Put me in coach I could be on the court and miss 13 shots and collect $60K for a game.

The guy is worthless, I thought because this was a contract year he'd really bring but he plays with no passion.
Bully | 10:32 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Listening to this guy talk about the team needing to play better defense is like listening to the 3rd grade bully talk about being nice to everyone. Defense is not a skill as much as it is an effort, and he hasn't ever provided it. I hate hearing it from someone who doesn't do it. It would be hard to be this guys teammate!
Simplicity | 10:36 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer doesn't want to be here. The fans don't want him here, and he is terrible. Here is a solution: get rid of him! He is overpaid, and has no motivation. 3-14! That is horrible! I completely suck at basketball, and I was 7-11 last night with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. You want to pick me up? I might be of more help than boozer.
Sneaky Jimmy | 10:43 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
My concern (and it was repeated many times by the ESPN guys) is that BOozer is way out of shape. He has lost weight and muscle. He does not look nearly as strong as he did at the beginning of last year. He also showed no interest in even being on the court. At least pretend you like playing basketball.
BR3T | 10:45 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
BOOzer has got to get all worked up if he wants to have his value up? So far, it's not looking good and no one would want a blabbing blab whiney loozer getting out of their trade value.
right draft choice | 10:46 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I agree; drafting blair over maynor wouldnt help us at all. if we did that we wouldnt have milsap right now. so we would have a rookie backing up boozer, id rather have milsap there. give maynor a break; it was his first regular season game, and they put him in when the nuggets were on a run. aside from dwill, nobody was spectacular and they ALL blew it in the 4th quarter. plus its hard to win a season opener in denver, they had the same home record as us last year. but booz was terrible, 3-14 no excuse for him. all i know is we better cream the clips tonight or there needs to be some trades.
BOOZEFAN | 10:54 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I love Booze. I like Carlos Boozer too. I think he's going to have a fine year.
10 feet in | 10:55 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer will only get going if he mans up and plays the POST. 10 Feet and in to the basket. IF HE WON"T MAN UP SIT HIM DOWN.
Blair | 11:00 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Did you see what Blair did last night? Nothing, that's what. 6 points, 4 rebounds and 1 turnover. Lets see what keeps happening with him.
NYJazzFan | 11:00 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Hey, Boozer stunk it up and didnt play D.. but Milsap was terrible on D.. not because he didnt try but because he is too small. Nene pushed him around like a rag doll. Utah NEEDS to trade Boozer for a BIG guy.. The knicks want to get rid of Curry.. That is a big talented dude that sloan could motivate.. then Milsap can guard 4's cause he cant guard 5's. By the way, Sloan needs to let Fesenko play, he is our only true BIG guy and he bangs...
Of course the neither the front office nor sloan will heed my advice!! LOL

After watching Tyrus Thomas dominate the second half of the Spurs/Bulls game last night (he was dominant at both ends of the floor, mixing jumpers, an above-the-rim game, great passing, hustle, shot blocking, etc.), it just makes me wish we coulda' somehow made that Boozer-for-Thomas deal work this summer.
Yrag Notyalc | 11:29 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
If Boozer REALLY wanted to be with the Jazz this year he would have come ready to PLAY on the season opener! He was AWOL and as cold as the snow outside at Mile High!!! He needs to "Put up....or shut UP!" Hey Booz - it goes in the hole....not clankin' the front side of the rim 70 times a game!!
Tyrus Thomas | 11:38 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
He looked great last night. The Jazz could have had him but didn't pull the trigger. He would be perfect in the rotation. We need his size, defensive ability and his hustle too!! Make it happen Jazz!!
ChrisVegas | 11:50 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
"Boozer looks to get going"? What, does he need someone to help him pack?
Yeesh! | 12:29 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer is gone mentally-anyone noticed? And playing Milsap with Booz is a mistake. Trying to bond them? Milsap would play better if they just let Booz ride the pine, and that's what he deserves. Milsap earned his minutes last year, and I can't believe they broke the flow by letting Booz take over once he "healed". Fes was a force in the Denver game, and no matter what they've said, he did manage to do well. I believe he can be both an offensive and defensive presence. Denver seemed a bit intimidated by him. Booz doesn't intimidate anyone. All Denver did was pick away at Memo to get their groove back, because they do have some head cases on the Denver team. We could've won that game. Less Booz and more Fes. Milsap will get it back once they bench Booz. C'mon Sloan...SEE IT. D-Wil isn't into it this year. No chemistry, and YOU KNOW IT AND YOU KNOW WHY. Don't be so nice. You were a tough player, now be a tough coach and do what it takes to WIN.

Is it just me or does Booser the Looser have worse hands then Ostertag when D Will passes him the ball?? somebody tell me its not just me seeing that..
Boozers Crouch | 1:19 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozers defensive crouch is hilarious watch it tonight cause I'm sure Sloan will give him plenty of playing time. Boozer gets down in this crouch looking like he is really serious about playing some D, then his man just blows right by him for an easy uncontested dunk. Boozer is left there still in his crouch looking for his man defending nothing but air. Hilarious.
stuff | 1:20 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Yip, I agree
Miles | 1:40 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
We have all these players under contract playing in the wrong positions. Millsap playing the 5 and 3 spot. AK playing the 3 spot. CJ playing the 3 spot. Korver playing the 3 spot.

I hear some of your arguments that the 2 and 3 spot are interchangable on offense. That is great, but they are not interchangable on defense. Our offense the past few years is great. It's our defense that leaves a lot to be desired. Until we fix the out-of-position players by making some trades, we will always struggle on defense. We need a true 3. We need a shooting 2 (Which I think should be CJ. I know that comes as a shock to most of you).

We need a 5 who blocks shots and scores in the block. Or a 4 that does the same. Right now we have a 4 and 5 in the starting lineup who can't stop anyone in the paint. We have a point guard who doesn't play defense. And tons of people out of position on defense.
NBA | 1:43 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
The NBA is corrupt....institute merit pay.....

If I were Larry I would say:

Booz you can make 12 million this year, but you will have to win every game, play D and keep your mouth shut....after each game depending on how you do the above, I will write you a check...now go play ball!
Cowboy Joe | 1:52 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer is not the only problem on the front line. Millsap is too small for the pf and too slow for the sf. He is just a super sub not a starter. Boozer doesn't play much defense, but neither does anyone else. If the guards, DWILL and Ronnie Brewer, could keep their man infront of them the front line could play better.

I still think the Jazz needs to bring back Araujo. He was the enforcer the Jazz so desperately lack. It seems all of the players are afraid to foul somebody hard because they know noones got their back.

Araujo wasn't the best, but he would protect his teammates foresure.
Cowboy Joe to NBA | 3:17 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
First off Larry isn't writing any checks, and secondly MOST NBA players wouldn't being getting paid, because they aren't preforming.
No way | 3:43 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
This article is nothing short of the DeseretNews trying to win some love from Jazz fans for Carlos Boozer. My love for Boozer can only be won back if he almost single handedly takes the Jazz to the finals and than hits the game winning shot to bring back the championship to Utah. Anything short of that isn't going to work.
Miles | 4:26 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
@Cowboy Joe: Amen except for the Araujo comment.
Old Jazz | 4:51 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Boozer has been in talks with Miami and Chicago for almost a year. The Jazz have to showcase him until the trading deadine to get anything for him. If he were really valuable he would have gone before the season. He hates the Jazz and Salt Lake.

He will get going, but who will take him?
Boozer looks to get going? | 5:55 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard optimistic sayings about Boozer.

Boozer "looks" to get going.
Boozer is "close" to getting healthy.
Boozer "says" he's back.
Boozer once "thought" about playing D.
Boozer is "happy" to be in a Jazz uniform.
Boozer is "looking" to prove himself.
and the list goes on and on...

Boozer has yet to actually PERFORM night in and night out. He just won't work hard and hustle.
todd on "snoozie" | 6:57 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
He spends more time yelling "oh >>>>" which I heard him do 3 times on mike the other and of course his favorites "my bad" and "and one"

He is such a great actor

It reminds me of Susie Lucci though, 12 or so emmy nominations until finally winning

BOYZER would be great at flopping as a striker for Real Salt Lake to get a penalty kick called for him
