Utah Utes football: Not surprised by Pokes

trap games for the Utes. Hard to get up for games wherein expectations for wins are high. No doubt Christensen has turn the Poke program around, but many of the players from the last two seasons are still around. Nonetheless, Utes better be prepared for these traps, especially when they know what is coming in three weeks. A great time to work out the kinks in the offense. GO UTES!

I thought AF was a trap game for Utah, but I don't think Wyoming will be. Even with Wyoming's significant improvement this year and Cain's inconsistency, it would take a pretty extreme level of incompetence for Utah to lose this one at home. If the game were in Laramie I might consider it a trap game, but I really don't see Utah losing Saturday.

This Wyoming game will be like last year's CSU game- the game where Utah's offense finally finds its rythm. Look for defense and special teams to put up some scores also.

if you have a chance of winning the next game. Of course the Uties don't have a prayer against the Frogs. This could be the game where the Pokes take their revenge and do an onside kick when they're up by thirty in the second quarter.

Utes have a good team again. Wyoming is better than in the past, but still not the same talent level as Utah. I know we will compete a lot harder than in recent years. I just hope we play you tough and get some respect back. A win is doubtful, but would be awesome. Give us a few turnovers Utes! :) GO WYO!!

Next game is definitely not against TCU. Way to go. Also we do have a chance at beating TCU, mostly because we actually have a defense. We are definitely not favored, but there is a chance. If the offense can come together and play consistently, that would help, too.

The Utes play at home next week before then play TCU. Know the shcedule if you are going to comment on it. You are better off worrying about how many points BYU is going to give up after their bye.

BYU fans are more focused on Utah losing than BYU winning. Their season is shot so they want to see the same happen to the Utes.... especially in Ft. Worth against TCU.

Who are we kidding, we know Utah is better than BYU?...in fact, they are not only going to beat BYU, but they will also beat TCU, and (why stop there) probably play in the BCS championship this year. We have better players, a better fan base, a bigger national following, and a better head coach.

This is a Utes article! The lame comment is your jealous post! It's your team that got blownout twice on their home field ruining their hopes of a BCS year. The focus from the bubble has shifted to hoping TCU will blowout the Utes to help soften the blow.

The last time we played the Utes it was 48-24 those are the most relevant numbers until we play again.

I hope we don't repeat history with the Utes like we did against TCU.

BYU fan pshyce has definitely been better, but it's nowhere near an all-time low. You'll see what I mean after the TCU game. I think Utah puts up a better showing than BYU, but it still won't be close.

I'd say my personal all-time low as a BYU fan was watching the 0-3 loss to Utah in freezing cold weather. That was an awful game in every respect and it was the end of another Crowton-lead BYU season that needed to be put out of its misery. It was probably the most boring game in history and our scout team QB didn't do us any favors.

While I'm not happy about my team getting throttled by TCU and possibly losing to Utah; I definitely prefer it to getting beat by Wyoming, Air Force, USC, Stanford, Boise State, Colorado State, Notre Dame and Utah all in the same season. Crowton really wasn't that long ago.

Hey Yewts, expect an upset today by a new and improved Wyoming team. They still owe you for what you did to them two years ago during their last visit in 2007 -- real classy by the way.

I've never seen a team do an on-side kick while dominating, and just shows what type of sportsmen you are. I think some payback is in order. Go Cowboys!

The day is almost over and I'm not aware of the upset you predicted. Can you fill me in?

The onside kick was classless, I agree. I can recall several times LaVell allowed a player to re-enter a game that had long been decided, or a player to remain on the field beyond the line of classy vs. classless just to set a record.... i.e. Marc Wilson. Was it classy when the BYU offensive linemen showed up at RES wearing red gloves to help avoid being called for holding the red jerseys of the Utes?

The payback time has past. Coach Glenn is no longer coaching the Cowboys.

Good luck with New Mexico this week cuz of Cosmo.

onsides kicks are classy when the opposing coach guarantees a victory. as far as im concerned we couldve put up 100 on them 2 years ago, but we were up by 40 in the second quarter so we decided to let off the gas after the onsides kick. ol cowboy joe ran his mouth a little too much, and it ran him out of laramie. since then the utes have been nothing but classy. i wouldnt be surprised after the utes beat wyoming if the pokes go up to laramie and stick a thorn in the cougars season. yes wyoming will give utah a game, but utah will prevail as utah knows how to win games on their own turf..my prediction is

Utah 41-Wyoming 24
