Is Michelle considered naturally beautiful or is she "beautiful" now because of her role of being the first lady/wife of the US president?

To me her "beauty" is concocted. (And please don't tell me the old cliche that "beauty is relative and in the eye of the beholder.) She's an American "institution" and so the media and whoever else is responsible for promoting and maintaining this acquired "image", role and tradition, that the first lady should be elegant and beautiful, seem to be perpetrating a fraud.
