Complete joke that Bountiful has to travel to Bonneville, this coming form a ram ran. Brackets this year are horrid, at least Bountiful is on the easy side of the it.
Nice Path.. | 10:02 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Now I'm kind of glad Highland pulled that one out. Easy road to the finals.

Finals:

Bountiful vs. Timpview/Mountain Crest..

winner: anyone's guess.
Me, Myself and I | 10:08 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
In the playoffs it would be a rare case for a home team win to be considered an upset. Look for a pesky Bonneville team to do just that, get the upset at home. Bonneville 21 Bountiful 17.

Bountiful fans should NOT be complaining at all, even if that means an opening road game..

Top region: Timpview, Mountain Crest, Highland

Bottom region: BOUNTIFUL and no one else....

I would take that and be VERY, VERY grateful.
Quit Whining already! | 10:28 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
The Bountiful team isn't whining about playing on the road. For the last time the brackets are set up in advance, sometimes it works out good and sometimes it doesn't. Life goes on and if Bountiful is as great as everyone says it won't matter.

GO BRAVES!!!!!!!

Class of '62
Re Accountant | 10:51 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Even if it seems a little harsh, you won't hear a complaint coming from the Braves.
I Think Dnews should rethink that statment, just read the first comment on here. whippy i have to drive a hole 30 miles north to play a game, and both teams did only lose one game in region ply
those 15 games between these two BHS games 12 or so have been played @ Bounty-ful-of-it
But anywho this game between both BHs have been great to playin and watch its better then plying Wx when was the last win for Wx over bounti was back in 1980 something. Sure bounti up 13-2 put most of those games have been close score rather then 30 points blow outs.
Bountiful vs Bonneville | 11:33 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Bonneville could be in trouble in this one. They had problems stopping the run vs Weber. Bountiful is better on the ground than Weber. Bountiful strength will always be the run game. Look for the Bountiful running backs to have a big day and control the clock.
Bonneville will roll | 11:54 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
look at their one common opponent- Woods Cross. Bonneville beat them on the road by 17 while bountiful squeeked by with a 2 point win at home. Bonneville will roll against bountiful. Lakers 24 Braves 7
Brave fan | 12:17 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Don't look at the brackets. Just win the game you're in. Bonneville is going to play tough. Go Braves!!
Common opponents... | 12:24 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Uh, you might want to hold on with that "common opponent" argument.

Compare how Logan fared this season against both teams?

Look at Bonneville's 5A losses? All loses to teams that got beat by Viewmont during region play. Yes, the same Viewmont who got beat by Bountiful.

Not that any of this really matters come game time, but you should make sure you cover all your bases if you're going to come out with the "common opponents" argument.
B-Town Fan | 12:24 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Its all about matchups and exacution. Bountiful excute too the fullest and when it comes to matchups on both sides of the ball. Bountiful has the advantage. It will be a good game but the Braves will advance and hope for them to advance into the finals! 27-10
re: Bonneville will roll | 12:31 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Cross town games/rivalry like Bountiful/WX and Viewmont are more intense than inter region games...BTW, Bountiful beat Logan another common opponent by 33 at the same location that Bonneville squeaked by with a 1-point win but it doesn't matter. Go Braves!
Viewmont Parent | 12:34 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
good luck Winters and Heimuli.
3 top bracket teams 1 bountiful | 1:08 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Highland/MC/TV vs bountiful.
john | 2:10 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Bonneville fans are starting to sound like Ogden fans. Bountiful will win on the road. Bonneville has no offense that is there problem. If Bountiful doesn't turn over the ball the Braves win!
re: 3 top.... | 2:46 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Let's see if your Bountiful bunch is all that good in a week or two? My guess is they are getting ready for basketball tryouts within 10 days if not sooner. Go Lakers.
Re. 3 top Bracket Teams | 3:23 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Highland is not a top bracket team who are you fooling they are going to go out hard in the second round.
re: viewmont parent | 3:32 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Is that an attempt at sarcasm? I'm pretty sure one or both live in Bountiful's boundary.
Re john | 3:52 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Bonneville was doing great once they changed their qb from the filiaga to the jr Nelson, he is a better leader, and reads the plays better! Too bad Nelson is out with a shoulder injury thats going to hurt the lakers, they are a different team with him as their leader!
Sky View Fan | 4:06 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Nelson played very well against us and if he is out against Bountiful, I don't see Bonneville getting the win. Filiaga is O.K. but having him as WR with Nelson at QB is a MUCH tougher matchup.
re: re: viewmont parent | 5:18 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
No sarcasm at all. Why would you assume that? Two great young men who I know from Little League days and want to wish them the best.
Re: Accountant | 6:20 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Bountiful is on the easy side just like your Rams were two seasons ago when a Bonneville team with less talent than their current team came to your home field and EMBARRASSED your Rams which were ranked #2 in the state!
Talks is cheap Ram fan...and hopefully for your sake your Rams are more prepared than they were for the below average Bonneville team that whipped them two years ago!
Re: John | 8:18 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Please never compare anything about Bonneville to Ogden. These two schools have nothing in common - especially its fans. The biggest difference between Bonneville and Ogden is that Ogden goes into a game "hoping" to win. Bonneville goes into a game "expecting" to win. Enough said.
skyview parent | 9:39 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Yes Nelson did have a great game against us! If he is still out with his injurey Lakers go down today, I agree they are a much better team with Filiaga as receiver, and Nelson as QB. Too bad for the lakers!
Re: Re: John | 9:53 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Bonneville barely snuck past Ogden this year, with the help of some biased zebras. Bonneville has a quality defense, but their offense is predicable and unimaginative.

CHECK YOURSELVES BONNEVILLE FANS. OGDEN HIGH FOOTBALL IS NOT INFERIOR. GET USED TO IT.
re: John | 11:42 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Oh your one of those that blame it on the refs figures! What are you downing Bonn for, because they beat you fair and square, even having to change qbs during mid season! Bonneville has never bragged about their team, look at ogden you would of thought they were alta or something in preseason, now look when region starts they get whooped! Whats their record in region? hmmmmm! Im not a bonn fan or ogden fan just a football fan! Hope Ogden has learned to stay quite, and just do their job, talk is cheap!
RE:RE:John | 2:08 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Using the "bad referee" card along with all of the other excuses Ogden has used over the past....(how long has it been since Ogden has had a "winning" record?)is getting old. Remember one thing: you only have to win by one point (or in your case: lose by one point). Our offense may be predicable and unimaginative, but it beat you.
laker fan | 3:24 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
It will be tough, but all I have to say is GO BONNEVILLE, keep it up, and get everyone healthy I'm a believer!
The Real BHS | 8:20 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Great win Lakers. Way to take care of business and show that rankings and records don't matter. Your heart and pride overcame the experts picking against you. Lakers continue to roll to the finals. Nice season to Bountiful. Agreed tough luck on the draw, but some were claiming you had the easy path to the finals...apparently, NOT.
We are the Lakers ...... | 8:32 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009

Matt Williams you need to find someone to call your offense your terrible. Jantz and Darce you guys had another great defensive game plan. Way to save your head coach again today. I just wish thet would give you the head job Jantz. Good luck next week.
northern utah | 6:29 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
LAKERS way to do the region proud!! I guess that's why they play the game Braves fans!! D-fense steps up again!! I agree the offensive side needs some help. Fili scrambles way too much without checking down. He has secondary receivers open if he could see them. Get your backs to block like Land does and get him the ball more. When we played them Land was an animal with and without the ball. Hope we see you in the finals!!
