Loved this story today. I'm relieved than an expert like Mr. Christenson is optimistic that we'll be around to see 2013! I guess I won't empty my bank account and have a last fling after all!

I liked reading about this but I'm still not convinced. If Hollywood says the world is ending in 2012, then it must be true, right? Whatever. I'm with this guy and will turn in early that night. Beam me up, aliens!

This date is an interpretation of someone who read an anthropoligusts report on a particular Mayan calendar. There are plenty of Mayan calendars that go well beyond this date.

2012 is not a hoax. Read my non-fiction trilogy of 2012 books; the most comprehensive 2012 books in the world titled: The Ark of Millions of Years by E. J. Clark, available in booksstores and online bookstores. My books are based on well documented scientific, historical, biblical, and Mayan facts. The Maya were not the only ones who knew about 2012 as most of the world did up to the 1800s. Washington DC was laid out to remind us of that date. Monuments carved in stone, worldwide, were left for our generation warning of that date. Christ taught it. For the correct facts, read my books and prepare.
Thanks,
E. J. Clark

Actually, I just ordered two of Ms. Clark's books from Amazon 5 minutes ago, based on her comment (above). Thank you, Ms. Clark.

Without intending to detract from the accomplishments of the Mayans, I think it advisable to remember that it comes from a culture that also believed ritual blood sacrifice was critical to maintaining the very fabric of the universe.
