surprise | 10:57 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I thought the whole reason this team was successful was Sigi. The fact that they won the supporters shield without him really shows how talented the crew are. Still I like our chances. It's the second round that worries me..
bummer | 5:16 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
much of our home field advantage will be negated by the late start and thin Halloween crowd; even in the playoffs, the casual fan will always trump the season ticket holder; too bad we can't bring in a Mexican club for the playoffs, have David Archuletta sing and pass out autographed Blanco shirts

I'd bet the majority of RSL's season ticket holders are more affluent folks with families, and they're likely to miss Saturday's game because of the late afternoon start on Halloween. Couldn't the time have been adjusted to accommodate them?

Agreed. This team hates its season ticket holders.

I don't think RSL hates its season ticket holders, but I know for a fact the front office is sick of listening to them complain all the time like they own the team. Really, what makes them think they're so much more precious than a guy like me who buys a couple Colonel's Corner tickets a season?
Season ticket holders? | 7:53 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
They give tickets away all the time for free at the Maverick down the street. RSL can't give tickets away fast enough so there are always thousands of empty seats at games.
Season Ticket Holder | 7:55 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I don't understand how this would ruin Halloween for people with kids. The game ends at 6 pm. Even if you live in Provo or somewhere further away, you can still be home by 7 pm and spend an hour or two trick or treating. My neighbors are going to the game and their daughter is going trick-or-treating with friends from school. How is that so horrible? Also, I'm a season ticket holder and affluence is not the reason (I'm a college student who simply saved some a few hundred bucks). The prices for season tickets are reasonable and worth it and while sometimes the season ticket holders get the short end of the stick, but it seems the Front Office is working hard to fix the problems that keep coming up.

Hey, if there was nothing to complain about we would all roll over and die, right?
Re: Season ticket holders? | 8:30 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
You you please give me the address of the Maverick down the street that's giving away tickets? I'd like to pick some up.

Wait, I know why you can't answer that question - it isn't true! RSL gives away 500 tickets per game to local schools as part of their deal with SL County. But that's far less tickets than your precious Jazz give away to every game. So next time, get your facts straight before you pop off.
I am a season ticket holder | 8:43 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I don't know what anyone is saying but my playoff tickets are really cheap, compared to what the general public is going to have to spend.
Free tickets | 9:00 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
That's true. RSL can't fill the seats so they give away free tickets, a new Ipod touch, and $1,000 in cash to every person who goes to that Maverick store. You know "that" Maverick store. The one in the Twilight Zone.

I wish tickets were free. If anyone ever has tickets to give away, I will gladly use them. ANY RSL GAME.
The Crew are a lot like us except more consistent on the road. We started out horrendous on the road for the 1st half of the year. If those games were played like the 2nd half we probably would have won a few more games. I get the feeling that the Crew think they can get a result here and are in for a REAL awakening. I think they beat us in Columbus but only by a goal. I think we win by at least 2 goals here.
The game tonight should be good but I think Seattle wins. They are pretty good at home, and I think Houston is overated.

somebody just make saturday get here quicker! i want mls playoffs now! go rsl! all the way this year!
todd to chadders | 1:28 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Chadders thas is pretty much in line with my thoughts. I like Seattle to play Galaxy in one game West Finals with Galaxy likely winning to get to MLS CUP. The East is wide open, and I could even see New England beating Chicago. Remember months ago I said New England was a sleeper and frankly them making the playoffs may have been more difficult than even us making it. They were buried, they have great playoff experience.
Scary! | 2:02 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Nothing would be scarier on Halloween than having to watch a soccer game. You would be guaranteed to face insanity and death from boredom! At least at a haunted house the risks of death and insanity are relatively low.

Can't wait for Saturday! It's treat time all around, first the RSL playoff game (ehre we're going to thump the crew) and then taking cady from the neighbors. What a day! I'm still looking for "that" Maverick, too. If I ever find it I'll post the address here.

GO RSL!!!

I have watched a replay of the goals from the game against Colorado and have a question for everyone. I know Findley got credited with 2 goals but wasn't one of the goals really scored by Olave? Even in the pictures taken the ball is clearly on Jamison's head. It seemed like the ball went into the goal at a downward angle and Olave was on his way down and Findley was jumping up. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? It is totally not a big deal but I watched the replay about 3 or 4 times and every time I keep saying Olave scored that not Findley. It is the goal when ESPY provides the cross.
reply chadders 4:37 | 4:53 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Findley actually headed it, I had the perfect seat for that.
to Chadders | 4:56 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I saw pictures and replays that clearly show it strike Finley's head. Also, Finley reacted to the goal and Olave didn't.
Re tickets | 5:45 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
There's really no economic reason to buy season tickets. You'll actually save by just picking up the discounted tickets before the match. Plus you won't get stuck feeling like you already paid and therefore have to go to the midweek snoozer when San Jose comes to play at 8 pm on Wednesday, or the meaningless friendly where your team plays a Mexican club and gets booed off their own pitch by visiting supporters.
Go RSL | 6:42 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I now hate Columbus. They are defending champs and they expect to beat us in the playoffs. What's not to hate.
