As I have said, coach Mcallister has the kids ready and focused for one game at a time. We hope soon, that there will be a new red banner to go next to the 1925 state championship banner in the gym. A new tradition and football power is emerging.
Re: JD Books | 7:44 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Do you share that banner with the other three schools? How does that work?
Rich Rebels | 10:02 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Go South Summit. You got this! Just hold onto the ball. You are better. Take advantage of the home field.

OH MAN! ha that cracks me up! you guys haven't had a sate championship since 1925. thats sad. haha i love being able to go in the gym and look up at MILLARD's many many BLUE championship banners! This is MILLARDs year for another one. You guys play hard and live with no regrets!!! Leave it all out on the field. All the hard work (blazing hot three a days in the summer to snow covered field practices) will pay off! Do your Best! Make us all here in Fillmore and the surrounding communities proud! You used to say that you would bring home the gold trophy and now you are saying that hopefully you will be able to. What changed your mind all of a sudden? Good Luck Rams.(Parowan)

a trip to Northern Utah to watch the "Mighty Rams" hoist the Gold Trophy, only to find out they were playing basketball. He wraps up in his new, red 2009 State Champion banner and slowly cries himself to sleep while visions of sugar plums (I mean Wolves) dance in his head!

Nice article James. You quote every home teams coach but ours. Thanks. That will put a little more FIRE in our guts!
ram | 9:44 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
yeah we don't have a football tradition, but what about our baseball. when my dad was in school we were dominant, but now we aren't so good. things change, our football has came along way from previous seasons. good job boys, im proud to be a RAM
JD Books | 10:08 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
We know it has been a while since we won a football championship but beware this year will be the first of many to come. South Sevier is now the team to beat in 2A football, we are a team of DESTINY. Coach Mcallister has built our program to where we just reload each year and will keep on winning championships. We will be hanging red banners and hoisting GOLDEN TROPHIES for years to come. You should all make the trip to Monroe this weekend to watch the best team in the state. I also recommend you come watch us tear apart the Cowboys next week in Cedar! Then the next week the field at Alta High School will finally get to have a real team on it as we once agian destroy the Millard Eagles to hoist our GOLDEN TROPHY that is our DESTINY!!!
2A | 10:11 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
too bad red devils are made of fire and can and will totally win.
Re:2A Fan | 10:16 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I like all four of your picks. I do think Enterprise is being overlooked a ltitle, but that will end this weekend with a win. I think South Summit playing at home with a week's rest is the difference. I also think the South Sevier game will be closer than many. The only place I might be differenet is I think the SJ game will also be close. I saw the game between those two teams earlier in the year and it was real competitive until late. I do think SJ is stronger and more physical and will eventually wear them down. SJ front seven on D are strong, quick, and physical.
Anonymous | 11:03 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
sorry JD i don't think he has built a program where we reload each year....this is just a case of a good group of kids, i played both football and basketball at SS and the basketball program has reloads each year because of the great coaching, tradition and pride....football has none of that, with the exception of a few great coaches....im not saying that mccallister cant get SS there but it will take more work and time and more than one good season to prove anything
Snowy San Juan | 11:40 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
There is 5 inches of snow on San Juan's footbll field, hope it melts fast. Could make the game more fun!
Snowy Field | 12:26 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
The snow will be gone by tomorrow and the weather outlook is nothing but sun starting tomorrow. Snow won't be a factor. Too bad it would help san juan and their running game.
to thee... JD Books | 12:40 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
you said your going to kill the cowboys next week which means the cowboys beats san juan this week. but on the other blog you said SJ 24 Kanab 21.
i'm just curious how your gonna play kanab when you perdicted San Juan to beat them.
JD Reply | 1:04 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
JD...will you wear a shirt at your football games that reads 'I'm an IDIOT" so we can all pick you out of the crowd...oh, never mind we will be able to see you in the crowd, you will be the one running down to the end zone to catch the point after kick and than running the ball to the sideline and giving Bischoff and Coach M a big HUG and saying win this game for ME. You don't have one game correct, San Juan will beat Kanab and S. Summit will beat Millard and guess what...you will get beat by the Broncs. Even if Kanab pulls the upset you will get beat by them also. Enjoy your win this week it will be your last with this class and you will be lucky to finish in 3rd place next year in the west region.
Re: JD Books | 1:35 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
So um.....your last so called "championship" was in 1925? I put "" around "championship" because it really isn't a championship because there was a three way tie..oh I know! You could flip for it, and maybe get it! I mean, you did get lucky enough to get the number 1 seed by a flip of a coin....which you didn't deserve. I mean, you did lose to enterprise. I know you guys can flip coins now, but can you play football?
JD Books | 1:49 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
This is the real JD Books. I have never said in an authorized post that San Juan will beat Kanab. The paper tigers will go down in defeat and South Sevier will then beat Kanab in Cedar. San Juan is overated. They don't have the weapons to compete with the elite teams from the west region. Kanab is healthy and will beat San Juan on their own field by 3 touchdowns.

JD Books | 2:59 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
It is flattering that someone likes to post blogs under my name that make me look like an idiot. Great job whoever you are.
As far as our championship in 1925, I think it was quite an accomplishment in those days. Back then there were not 5 classifications, so we had to go through the bigger schools up north to get that trophy with the leather helmets. I am sure the kids and community back then were just as proud as they are now. Both the 1925 team and todays rams have something in common. In 1925 as today, there is D1 talent all over the field.
1925 | 3:37 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I just read on Millard's football facebook page that they didn't even have a team until 1926. I wonder how many teams there really even were in 1925 then? Six or seven?
Anonymous | 3:45 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
JD really wanted to say ay 1:49 is I hope Kanab can pull it out agianst SJ because we have no chance beating them if Kanab cant. As a matter of fact SJ looks forward to beating the Rams as I know most true SS fans are hoping for the same thing (to see SJ that is)....But JD is shaking because of the heat he will get when SS cant score a point with thier team full of D1 players. I hope SS get by Parowon just so SJ can smoke them and make sure SS knows its spot in 2A football...that would be a wannabe

Kanaba Attack | 3:55 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Snow or not in Blanding its going to be a win for the cowboys. San Juan luckily won the last game. Its going to be a sweet ride home and then we will take it all the way to state. Go Kanab!
JD Books | 4:03 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
The post at 1:49 was not authorized by me.
RE: Kanab Attack | 4:19 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Why were they lucky to win the first game? I was at the game and San Juan just wore us out and then put the game away in the fourth quarter. They have a really good defense and play very physical. I know that one of their best linebackers was out for the first few games but is back now. Kanab was at full strenght at the time and SJ was not and they still beat us. We will need to play a perfect game and hope San Juan makes several mistakes if we want to win.

Go Cowboys!
Ultimate Fan | 4:28 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I think that the best game of the quarters will be played on the South Summit football field. We are lookin for a great game. Go Cats - you rock

Re: Ultimate Fan | 5:01 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I would have to agree! Both teams are going to have to bring their A-game. This will definitely be neck-n'-neck the entire game. Let's go Millard!

My picks for Saturday.

Kanab by 6-If they play their best football of the year.

South Sevier by 14

Enterprise by 7

Millard by 3
Lets go western region. Get the sweep.

You don't need people to make you look like an idiot.... you make yourself look like one with your silly comments.
Jd started it | 9:29 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
by bragging about how good ss coach is you opened a giant can of worms now you have former players posting negatively about him. better to cut your losses and get out now. Your coach is having a good football season but one season does not make him a great coach, hes also your baseball coach? hows that working out for ya?
swine flu | 9:07 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I have heard that Millard Q-Back and S. Summits Q-Back both have swine flu, can anyone confirm that? Go EAGLES, you will get a win tomorrow!!
RE: swine flu | 9:48 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I dont know about the Millard qb but the south summit qb is questionable for tomorrow. last i heard he hadnt practiced for a few days.
Big Green Tractor | 10:48 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I sure hope these GB's don't have the swine flu. Both teams are healthy, this would be the game of the week in the state of Utah. If these GB's do have the swine flu, I wish them well, and hope they get better in time for the game tomorrow. Let's go MILLARD!
Millard | 10:51 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Everyone on the Millard team is healthy. No excuses there.
re: Swine Flu | 10:54 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
If the players have the H1N1, they should NOT be playing. Their health, and the other player's health comes first.
Old Timer | 2:15 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
It's interesting how most of you young fellas like to moan about this or that. Face facts every team of the eight has a chance. They play the best they can and the other team plays the worst they can and anything can happen. San Juan and South Summit are the clear favorites with the so called tied for first three teams from the west next. A healthy Kanab team would have fixed that tie for the west region. San Juan will take it all again and you can bank that for sure!
South Sevier Tribute | 4:27 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
With the playoffs coming up I want to give a shout out to my Rams from Monroe. I would also like to remind everybody of the power house tradition that we have had in the playoffs. Im going to give a year by year of what we have done. I hope you enjoy and remember if you are in our way we will take you out just like we did in the past.

2008 Lost 52-29 to North Summit
2007 Lost 47-14 to Juab
2006 Lost 19-8 to Gunnison
2005 Lost 37-14 to Manti
2001 Lost 8-7 to Manti
2000 Lost 13-7 to Manti
1999 Lost 29-0 to San Juan
1998 Lost 21-20 to Grand
1993 Lost 28-0 to Grantsville

We lost by an average of 14 points. Basically this is how we have dominated our opponents. If you have to play South Sevier im sorry. You are in for a tough match up. Let me know what you all think. Go RAMS!
Anonymous | 4:40 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I think South Sevier tribute and JD Books are the same person.
re:south sevier tribute | 8:33 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
cant tell if youre being sarcastic or just being dumb. HELLO its 2009 you must be a disgruntled "former player". millard started playing football in 1926, how many losing seasons did they have before they turned it on? GREAT PROGRAMS GOTTA START SOMEWHERE how do you know this isnt the beginning of a great run?
Funny | 9:09 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
This blog stuff is funny. I hope all the kids have fun tomorrow.
Lets be honest | 10:03 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I bet you 90 percent of the people on these blogs are in high school and half of them are just saying stuff to get a rise out of someone. South Sevier Tribute is probably just laughing at the replies he gets from his posts. JD Books is probably laughing at all the replies he gets back too. Personally I think they are both hilarious.
re:lets be honest | 10:25 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
probably half right, i think jd books is a legit ram fan-JD POSERS are trying to get a rise out of people. It would be nice for the rest of us if you and your kind would just stay of the boards.
