I recently offered employment to our Home Teacher's son right after he returned from his mission. He arrived for his first day of work carrying his lunch pail, and his scriptures.
I asked him what he was doing with his scriptures, and he answered that he planned to read them during his 'lunch hour'. I explained that in our line of business, we ate on the run, and there was no time for reading. This was on a Friday.
I told him to leave his scriptures in his car. He worked that day and the next...then he called me on the morning of the third day and said he had thought about it, and this wasn't exactly what he had in mind for a career.
Besides...he didn't want to work on Sundays. Neither do I...but it's the nature of the beast in this profession.
