Jordans keys-
Offensively: No turnovers, and capitalize in the red zone.
Defensively: Force Turnovers, bring d line stunts, and blitzs to compensate for size in the run game(similair to utah in the sugar bowl), dbs cant let a good effort run d be in vain with long pass plays.

I don't think that the Diggers can handle the defensive pressure that the Miners will throw at them. However, a team that can throw the ball like Jordan does always scares me. I predice Bingham will win 44-21

Binghams keys-
Offensively: Score
Defensively: Don't let them score

I think if they pull that off they should win the game.

This should be a great game. Jordan QB Alex Hart will keep things close but winning games late in the fourth quarter is what Bingham does when facing good competition. Bingham 31 Jordan 28.

"Binghams keys-

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!

I think that just about any team would win with that advise. Years ago, I heard someone ask Ron Boone how the Jazz could have a successful season. He said, "I think if the Jazz can consistently score more points than their opponents, they'll win most of their games." I never got over how simply brilliant (or simply stupid) that was. I'm now having a case of deja vu.

Jordan played a really good game last night in horrible playing conditions! but the Miners are really good, i predict Bingham wins 53-36

Jordans passing attack is the best its been in years with alex hart and brayden hammond. Also with Grant Gary and Duke Babka at line backer it will be very hard for the miners to run their offence. If Jordans line can handle binghams blitzes they will win but not by much. im thinkin 35 38 Jordan.

Go DIGGERS

Bingham - Jordan will show up and give you everything they have on Saturday. Whether that will be enough we'll have to wait and see. Before all the trash talk begins on this blog I want to say that win or lose Bingham treats their opponents with more respect than any other school. I hate losing to Bingham mainly because they seem to always win. But win or lose, they do it with class. May the best team win. Go Diggers!
re: Jordan | 6:36 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I agree that it will be great game on Saturday but I don't believe that your prediction of trash talk on this blog will materialize from either side. I think this is a small rivalry of respect and everybody on both sides knows what the other side is bringing to the game. I gotta believe if any real trash shows up on here it's just from posers; possibly supporters of teams that didn't get in?

Play your hearts out Jordan. You have nothing to lose. Go hit someone like you never have before. Hart and company do what you do. Defense, play like you did Friday and you have a chance. Don't give up! Special teams please keep your lanes and you will be able to stop them.

Go Diggers!

Jordan Bingham.. Ride momentum | 7:56 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
MAN LETS BE HONEST.anyone and everyone will make their prediction. but stats and scores before this game dont even matter anymore. Playoffs are all about Momentum and pride. Jordan has won 2 straight against a very physical and hard running Brighton team. Bingham has only lost once this year and continues to be Bingham but is everything going a little '' too smooth'' for bingham not having a challenge in awhile. No doubt they will be in it though im not counting them out. Its going to be a 4th quarter game. We might not know the winner till the clock ticks 0:00

I appreciate the vote of confidence in Bingham's offense. But Bingham hasn't scored 53 on anyone this year and I don't see it happening against a very good Jordan team. I'm just expressing my opinion here. Miner fans, don't go on the attack.
I DO think Bingham will win, but I don't expect an easy game unless weariness has taken it's toll on Jordan. With the Miners well-rested and Jordan playing three games in 8 days, fatigue may become a problem for the Beetdiggers.
I think the biggest problem for the Miners will be penalties. If they clean things up, they should be ok. If they play like they did against Taylorsville, Jordan WILL get the upset.
In short, Miners - KEEP YOUR HEADS IN THE GAME!
GOOD LUCK MINERS!

RE: I'm Just a Girl but...
Sorry to hear that you can't be there Saturday. If you have Comcast, the game mght be available on demand next week some time. I don't know this for a fact, but you might be lucky and have it become available. If Bingham gets past Jordan, I hope you can make the next game.
Jordan | 9:23 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
We need the monster #50 Bill Vavau to keep playing like he did against Brighton! He played a good game on both sides of the ball. Lets go Diggers! Give 100% team effort. Leave it all out on the field hold nothing back. Good luck to both teams. I'm looking forward to this game.

Jordan @ 9:23 p.m.
It should be a good game, shouldn't it? I'm looking forward to it, too. I hope I'm wrong about fatigue being a problem for your team.
Hope both teams play their best and no one gets hurt.
GOOD LUCK!

Oh, how sweet it would be to see Jordan win this game! They have some serious momentum going into it, and they will need every bit of it playing against Bingham. Both teams are class acts, in my opinion, so if Jordan doesn't win this I want Bingham to go all the way! Good luck Diggers! Play your hearts out!

I've got to say that Jordan beat Brighton two times and I didn't give them a chance either time. Bingham may have some issues containing Hart, Hammond, and the rest of the weapons and while I still think it's not likely, I do think there's at least a chance Jordan could pull the upset.
I haven't seen Bingham play much, v Alta and v Taylorsville and then on tv and they just need to execute and do what they do without turnovers or bad penalties and they're nearly unbeatable.

Great game | 11:12 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I do agree that this is going to be a great game, Jordan's always tough, but I am a little tired of hearing all about how "Bingham will struggle", "Bingham will have a hard time with Hart and Hammond", etc. I would just like to point out what Jordan is going to have a hard time with, 1. Bingham's D.- #98, #31, #27, #56, #64, #9 if he can go he will be all over Hammond 2. RB- Harvey Langi 3.QB- Ty Hannay 4. Bingham's O-line 5. Bingham at home. That's a lot of weapons if ya asked me. Go MINERS!!!!!!
re:Me, Myself and I | 11:13 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Winning close games is what Bingham does. They have only won 1 state title in 60 yrs and choked last year in the final when they had a 2 TD lead in the 3 qtr. They have a lot of talent but I don't have much confidence in their O/C. The Miners track record does not look real good in tight games against good teams. They have the toughest road to the title - unless they win with their talent and don't allow their coaches to make too big of a hurdle - like they did 3 years ago. I see either Alta or PG winning the ring. Both of those teams have better assistant coaches but no one is better than Coach Dave Peck at getting a defense prepared - too bad he is always swimming up stream because of the play calling on offense. He needs to make a change there - I believe coach Kenny Peck would do a better job at being O/C - that is the position he has wanted for about 5 years - its time to make that change. Good luck Miners.

Are Kenny and Dave related? I know Ken (played with him at BHS in the 80s), but have never met Dave and have not talked to Ken for a long time.

Go Miners!!!!
to re: Me, Myself and I  | 12:11 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Are you kidding me, coach Kenny Peck as O/C? You my friend are delusional. There is only one reason he is coaching and it's not to make the entire team better. Everyone affiliated with Bingham football knows exactly what I am talking about. He might have an ok football mind, but his motives are not about the team. Just watch him, when a certain player gets burned during the games, he quits coaching the team and concentrates ONLY on that player. We watched it for the entire year last year and when injuries haven't held that player out, we've seen it again this year. Also, isn't the timing of when he (and his buddy)got on the coaching staff at Bingham a little ironic. Again, everyone at Bingham knows why he joined the staff. I have complete faith in Coach DAVE Peck and while I don't always agree with Lambourne's calls, I do know that he is a man with integrity who doesn't have a personal agenda when calling plays. Both of these coaches genuinely care about the players and therefore they need to be right where they are. GO BINGHAM
Jordan fan | 12:42 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Just stick to your normal offensive game plan and you will put points up. I am scared about the passing of Bingham. We have been pretty good stoping the run this year, but our DB's are bad. We only have 1 safety that can do anything. We need to play Stevie Morgan and Taylor Smith at free safety if we want a chance to win. Put Hammond and Hunt at each corner. This is our only chance against Bingham. Coach's please go outside your comfort zone in this game. Don't let you pride get in the way. We don't have enough talent to only play our best players one way.

Good luck Jordan we will be cheering you on.
Re: Jordan Fan | 12:55 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
You don't have anything to lose? Sure you do! It's the playoffs! You only say "we've got nothing to lose" when you're team is 1-8 and you're playing your last game and not making the playoffs. Jordan has everything to lose at this point. Their pride and dignity. For graduating senior Alex Hart and all the other seniors, this could be their last high school football game, that sucks. As a former high school player, I hated the feeling of losing in the playoffs as a senior...trust me, you'll feel like you lost everything. But play to win! I'm rootin for you DIGGERS!!! UPSET BINGHAM!
re: jordan fan | 1:21 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
are you serious? our week point is the running game!!! teams have been pounding us on the ground all year!!! Taylor smith is a great safety and Austin Day at corner is great! he is as fast as hammond or Hunt...believe me i ran track with him and hammond last year!...i do agree with you saying they need to put hunt and hammond in on d tho...along with morgan...but Day is as good as they are!

Poor Lambourne,
I played @ Taylorsville 20 years ago and heard the same things about him then. He was a terrible play caller, etc., etc.
Couldn't of had anything to do with the fact that we had no talent. Then he winds up @ Hunter and I bleieve they win a title. Now he's @ Bingham and they are in the top two for the past four years. I'd have to say, that he does a fine job.

Kenny is the right person for the O/C position. He has paid his dues in the program and now it is his turn to lead them offensively. He knows more about football because of his father than any other coach on the staff and he is a Bingham alumni. Kenny Peck and his father are Bingham football royalty and he deserves being the O/C. He will lead them - looked what he did in the Ute Conference - he and his father won championship after championship. He is a proven winner and a great example for the players. If the Miners want a chance to win in the coming years - he needs to be the O/C. GO MINERS!!!
RE:re:Me, Myself and I | 2:05 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Karl Cloward or Darrin Workman would be the best O/C that Bingham could put in right now. By saying that kenny would be any good is not what would be best for the "team". Remember...the "team" is what wins, not individuals!
Jordan Fan | 2:34 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I'm dead serious about putting Hunt and Hammond in at DB's. Day hasn't made a tackle all year. He is afraid to tackle. Sure he might be fast when running by himself. Did you happen to see him get beat 3 different times by Brighton? Where was Lumas on those as well? That's why we need Stevie back there instead. He was beat by 10 yards! He is doing a fine job? I don't think so. And our weakness isn't the run game it's the pass game. Why does every QB that face us have there best career game stats for the game? Because it was only until a couple weeks ago they put Taylor in at free safety. Now they just need to put Stevie in on for the other safety.

Go Diggers!
Bingham Coaches | 2:39 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
As a Jordan fan, I have respect for Peck and his staff. The huge coach is pretty animated, but I hear he is a great guy and great teacher. The one who is a total joke is their line coach. It is going to be a JOY to watch that clown stomp up and down on the sidelines.

RE: | 3:02 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
re:Me, Myself and I | 1:40 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009 - Nice post...let's see this came from himself, his dad, or one of his cronies. He didn't win very many championships in the Ute Conference, only a few. Is a matter of fact he got beat more in the first round than most. Maier @ Viewmont consistantly beat him. He hasn't put in his dues (5 years on the staff) doesn't give him the dues. Now, Cloward or Workman have put in their dues...MANY years on the staff (Workman) over 18 years! Lambourne is a wizard in comparison! Kenny is on the staff for one reason, and one reason only...to protect his own kids! "He knows more about football than anyone on the staff"? Are you kidding? He is not a team guy, he is a his kid guy.
re: jordan fan | 3:04 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
why does every single person that touches the ball in the running game pick up at least 6 yards per carry?! Day got beat on a long crossing rout that should have been picked up by the safety Taylor Smith but Smith made a different read resulting in a brighton TD..the other time day got beat was on a rediculous trick play that should have been stopped by our Linebackers but wasnt...and i have seen Day make hit after hit since the begining of the year...i dont know which kid you are watching DAY IS THE REAL DEAL! Lumous on the other hand...terrible...that is where we need help...but i once again do agree to play our WR's both ways...its the best chance our secondary has but once again...OUR RUN GAME STRUGGLES GAME IN AND GAME OUT EVERYONE RUNS THE BALL ON US!!! AND LANGI WILL RUN THROUGH OUR D!!! if jordan wins its because our offense matched their offense point for point...unless our D shows up like it did against brighton...i seem to remember our secondary making a game saving play and a Block-in-the on Day
Bingham Coaches | 3:18 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
WOW! Why so much anger. These kids have a great time playing the game. As adults (I hope you are) don't try to screw things up.
11 on 11 | 4:10 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
On paper bingham should beat Jordan. It's playoff time, so each team puts 11 players on the field. If Jordan has the heart, they can pull off an upset. I dpn't think it will happen. I think playing 3 games in 10 days is going to hont them Saturday. If Jordans line can compete they have a chance. Jordans DB #4 is weak. Bingham should be able to throw on him all night. Jordans Defense has been weak all year except for the last couple weeks. Wr'll see how they do against a great team that Bingham is. I'll enjoy watching the game. I hear Hillcrest has some studs coming along in the next 2-3 years. I hear Dastrup and Whitworth are the real deal. Does anyonwe know more about them?
Jordan Fan | 4:45 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
#4 is Day. Hit after hit? Patty cake, after patty cake hits maybe. Not one single, one on one tackle. Look, Jordan has to play there best players both ways if they want a chance to win. They might even think of putting Hart at free safety to help out. We are going to need a perfect game play to have any chance at all. Smith should stay at one side of free safety, but we have to have one of the H's the other free safety. Come on Jordan we can do this. It will be more than tough but we can do this!

Go Diggers!!!
JFan | 5:23 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
i agree with Jordan fan. Day can't hit. Stevie has to play free safety. Some of our 3 H's have to play db's in days spot. Hitting is not his strength at all. Special teams have to step up in A big way. We already know Hart and company will show. Good luck diggers!

(Workman) over 18 years - I think this year makes 22 years at Bingham for Darrin Workman. It's 21 for me as a "paraprofessional", and I'm pretty sure he started working there a year before.
I'm not getting involved in this argument over who should be Bingham's O.C. because I reapect every member of Bingham's football coaching staff.

"The one who is a total joke is their line coach. It is going to be a JOY to watch that clown stomp up and down on the sidelines."
Laugh all you want, the man KNOWS how to teach linemen. Besides, he's settled down a bit from what I've seen this year.
Bingham O Line Coach | 8:05 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I have heard from some of the players that the O line coach does not show much respect for any players on Bingham's football team unless they are first team. That is what the joke is... I have heard terrible things. I hope they are not true...
Anonymous | 9:44 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Doesn't make any sense to have hammon, hunt, or morgan step in and play defense when they are offensive players. Morgan may be the only exception since he played safety last year. The reason they are such great offensive players is because they practice day after day, week after week at their specific postions and plays. Do you really think by throwing them on defense just days before a playoff game and expect them to perform like they do on offense is even realistic?(not to mention that fatigue would surely be a factor). It's not as simple as putting them out there and having them cover one specific player. Jordan runs a more complicated defense than that. There are numerous plays and coverages that have to be learned by PRACTICING them day after day, week after week. Don't get me wrong they are fantastic football players, but it takes more than great athleticism to perfect a position.(and perfect no one will ever be).
Bingham O Line Coach | 9:51 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I can't speak for anyone else but my son thinks the world of the o-line coach. I think some rumors are getting overblown a bit on here.

Against Jordan's high-octane offense, Bingham's swarming will need to be as good as ever if the Miners are to avoid a first-round upset.
