Look for PG to turn their late season slump around with the return of Dallas Lloyd against an imporved Riverton team. Without Lloyd this is anyones game. PG 21 Riverton 14

Riverton is a class school with a class football program coached by good men. It will be an honor to share the field with them. Go Vikes!

Gonna be a BLOW-OUT.

Poor Riverton. Even the kids know that they can't shake the "one and done" tag.

Should be a good game. I love coach miller up at riverton. He is a class act, and wish all the luck in the world to him. But I do hope PG comes out on top. Take it week, by week.
PG | 2:11 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Lewis did a good job. Hats off to him.

But Lloyd is in a class all by himself. Physically, leadership wise, play making, example and just the "it" factor. I sure hope we have him and I know the team will make a run for it if he is healthy. The Oline was impressive last game. Things may be lining up hopefully.

Good to see Brighton lose after the cheap shot they gave our QB. What goes around comes around BHS. Go watch hte playoffs.
TNT | 2:23 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
The only way PG keeps winning is if the focus on Riverton this week. The Riverton coaching staff was at the PG game last week and will have their boys ready to play. I have said it before though and I will say it again, I don't think Riverton's wing-t is going to be all that effective against the strength and speed of PG. All PG fans and players need to realize though that the game has not yet been played. We need to stay calm and dominate each team by gearing up for each individual game.
Riverton  | 2:53 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
To the young men at Riverton stay focused don't get lost in all hype about PG just come out and play! Don't listen to all the one and done comments etc. Just fill your role on the team to the best of your ability and the rest will fall into place. It is not enough to say you can win it, you must believe it. If you don’t want your season to end then you must fight to keep it alive. Only you control the out come. Not the coaches, not the parents, you and your brothers on the team can will it to happen. As a parent I believe in you and wish you the best on Friday. Lets get it done and move on.
Good Luck Wolves!
Phantom O line | 3:29 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
PG Fans, don't think for a second that the O line is all of a sudden so much better because of the Alta game. The reason is Lewis. He is a pocket quarterback which is much easier for a lineman to block for. Lloyd is a scrambling option quarterback and that is very hard for a line to block for.

The main issue here is Sampson, who is the offensive line coach. He has neglected the line all season (he does that every season though), but they have been OK despite not getting a lot of coaching help. I hope they step up their game Friday!

Go Vikings! Make us proud.
Hey PG | 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
You should keep Lewis at QB to win this game. He can actually pass the ball accurite. Good luck both teams.

It is a beautiful thing to watch you guys play like I know you can. Do what you know you can do. I cannot wait for Friday!
PG Special Teams | 3:59 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Dallas Lloyd or not, let's hope some adjustments have been made to the special teams. We have to be able to count on point after attempts and field goals, especially to win those tight games! Get the kicker's foot to the ball faster and block an extra second!!!

Sorry, that was the Chili Dog. As for the game, I expect Pleasant Grove to win by a fair amount here. Also, does anyone know when the week 10 gridiorn picks winners will be announced? It is already wedensday. I think I won! Picked 11 of 12 games, and I had the right score for the mountain crest game.
pg resident | 5:54 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
dont worry riverton, one thing pg always does is choke!!!!
watch out | 6:22 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
rivertons offence is one of the most confusing to stop you pretty much have to guess who is getting the ball. have fun pg they are a lot better than you think it will be a good game
What???? | 6:24 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
If you were a D1 school you wouldnt lose without 1 player...those other D1 kids must be Posers! Does Alta or Lone Peak even have 1 D1 Kid?
Re: pg resident | 7:16 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Yeah really? So does choking include the 8-1 record?
D1 players | 7:26 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I agree...Alta has played with out some of their D1 players and the team has stepped up! I do know that Alta has several D1 players. Jordan Black BYU, Parker Hausknecht USU, Ai' Ho Ching has many D1 offers, Moose Bingham should have some coming in. Liston, Morris, Smith have offers at snow. Who knows what the rest of the year will bring
we have a ton of juniors that are doing very well.
Go Hawks!

One thign PG always does it Choke? How long have you been following PG football?

2006- undefeated in region, underdogs in EVERY game. made it to the semi's
2007-Region champs again, got beat by a better davis team, didnt "choke"
2008 Undefeated in region once again, lost in quarterfinals to a great Syracuse team
re Watch out | 9:14 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
PG knows how to defend against the Wing T. they have done it for years. its not hard to guess who has the ball either. If the linebackers sit and wait on the guards.. game over for riverton
Anonymous | 9:56 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
We're in the playoffs again!!! Adding more All-Sports points to the domination of fall. Look out . .the Silverwolves are coming and you'll all remember this moment! Hanging' a banner in our GYM!!!!!
Banner? | 3:32 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
None for football and just two silver bookends for basketball. Not even a region title for either squad.

Riverton shouldn't talk any talk until they've actually pulled something special off.

Miller is a class act though and will eventually get things squared away, once Herriman High opens up and takes away some of Bingham's better players.
Re to Banner? | 8:59 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Ummm...state champions in girls track last year...I believe that is one of the gold book ends isn't it? Get your facts straight.
ALTAFAN | 11:22 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
RE RE PG resident, As for your comment at 7:54 yes PG has taken region the last 3 years but that was a weaker region. Loss to Davis who couldn't make it to the end doesn't make you great. Loss to Syracuse last year doesn't make you great (for the record Syracuse wasn't a "great team" like you say. Look how they got blown out the next game. I believe it was something like 42-7). Making it into the top 8 or the top 4 means nothing if you cant get through that glass ceiling. That being said, Riverton will get pounded tomorrow and I do see PG at least making the top 4 this year.
JAke Bowman lover | 11:37 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
you guys might get killed, but hey i am still rooting for ya JAKE!
Re ALTAFAN | 12:06 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
So what about PG the last 4 years makes them choke? I guess everyone who doesnt win a state championship "chokes" then. "choking" is going into a game where you are favored to win and then you lose. Having 4 great seasons by no means is "choking"
8 weeks of chatter | 12:48 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
from PG fans will cap finally cease when PG loses in the first round to Riverton.

It's not about what you 'can do' it is about what you 'do'.

Good luck in the playoffs.
Herriman opening | 2:19 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Will not hurt Bingham...Kids can go where they want and I am hearing that one place they DO NOT want to go is Riverton, many of them cant wait for it to open so they can be part of building a winning program...Lots of players have left for Jordan already....Kids can go where they want, and once you start playing for Bingham why would you transfer to a brand new school? It makes no sense....
Hey 8 Weeks | 2:22 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Riverton is weak sauce. PG in a blowout. This is like a girls soccer team lining up against a College football team. 35-0..... at the half!
PG | 3:10 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Has PG learned nothing from the last two weeks? Stop mouthing off, and show us what you can do on the field. Got embarrassed by Lone Peak, couldn't do the things that mattered to beat Alta, barely beat Brighton and Timpview, just be quite and hopefully you'll beat Riverton.
huh? | 3:59 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
RE: PG | 3:10 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009

Yes.... PG please be 'quite'. Quite what? Quite Dominant?.... well we can do that. Sorry you losers in Riverton are going to have a steam train roll into town and run over the silverpups.

Trust me, it will be quite quiet in Riverton on Friday night.
Oh thats right.... | 4:10 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Kinda like you did against Lone Peak and Alta!
ALTAFAN | 4:19 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
RE RE ALTAFAN, I never said they choked. They have won their region 4 years straight (up until now). I'm not knocking that nor am I saying they choked. I'm simply saying don't put too much into the past. The Davis and Syracuse teams you played really weren't very good. Sorry but that's the cold hard truth of it. Being good doesn't mean you make it to or take state by any means but you were denied by weak teams.
Lewis QB | 4:46 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Lewis should play QB. We will have a better chance to win!
PG will  | 5:52 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
blow it! No QB - No team.
Re PG | 5:55 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Who is your team? You are quick to point out PG faults. Anyone at the Alta game knows PG was the better team, more physical all game long. It came down to the kicking game. And to say "PG barely beat brighton and timpview". Well, Alta got smoked by brighton. Same field, same players, just two weeks before PG beat them. Amd Timpview is the favorite once again for the 4A state championship. PG is finally getting healthy and they look ready for a playoff run. Im not a PG fan by anymeans, but im starting to root for them. I think PG will get to the finals
PG vs the world | 5:56 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
PG = let down
Re Lewis QB | 5:59 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I have known Donny since he was a sophmore, and he is one of the hardest workers to come through PG's system. I also think he is a great QB. But if this team is going to make a deep playoff run, Lloyd will have to be the signal caller and Lewis needs to be back at the captain of the denfense- strong safety. Lewis plays an important role for the vikings on the defensive side of the ball. I think Donny would start at QB almost anywhere else though.
