Mr. Robinson, about the same time that Chad Lewis provided you with a copy of his book "Surround Yourself With Greatness," I too sent you copies of my books "Sleeping With Angels: A Veterinarians Sacred Bond of Animal Companionship," and "Rainbow Tears: Reflections of Pet Loss, Grief and Healing." Additionally I also included three different CD's of music that I had written to accompany the stories. Unfortunately, you never even acknowledged receiving them.

Is the subject of my story that meaningless to you--or to your readers? Just wondering...about values, priorities, associations,and surrounding yourself with greatness. Who defines and authors greatness? Do you, or this society, over zealously equate greatness with elitism, participation in professional sports, religious activity, money and fame. Again, just wondering...

I will be the first to admit that I generally don't like Doug Robinson's stuff. He is a terrific writer, but one of the most negative people toward sports EVER! This article was a total change of pace and very refreshing. Thanks Doug for something that was actually uplifting about sports instead of negative. I knew you could do it. Lewis also seems like the type of role model I would love to have for my boys.
