Good point. My team has only won 11 NCAA tournament games total. We haven't won a tournament game since 1991 and my statement was made out of frustration. I'll admit it, I'm jealous of the Utes and their strong basketball program that along with UNLV, carries the MWC.

I think it will be a year full of disappointments. Look for the Utes to do well at the opener because of the extreme embarassment last year. After that, it will be all down hill and Boylen will regret scheduling the tough teams. This year has embarassment written all over it.

ok now that I did a little research (I didn't know that was possible), I have discovered that Utah has the 10th most winning program in the NCAA. They actually have a rich tradition in winning basketball. Not too long ago, Utah had a streak of 9 straight conference championships - my pathetic team has only been able to pull off the back to back a couple of time - thrown in with a couple of shared titles.

What is really concerning is now Utah also has the best football program in the conference. I wish the Utes would stop setting the bar so high - we will never be able to match what they have accomplished. Our Qwest for perfection seems to always come up short.

Love the direction that Coach Boylen is taking the Utes. I see very promising things ahead to continue the level of Ute basketball excellence that we fans have come to expect and enjoy.

What I don't love is the ridiculous comments made by people on message boards (like most of the zoobish comments here)...

Coach Boylen knows what he's doing by scheduling good teams. It toughens up his team and gets them prepared for the MWC schedule. It's great that the Utes are playing against Oklahoma and LSU instead of easier opponents. It's an exciting time to be a Utes fan.
