OMG, do they really thing they can attract investigators by doing this. There is little wonder why they are such an outcast group on the campus.
Proselytizing? | 3:57 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
So according to the last statement even something as innoucuous as this is really a "missionary tool"? Do you understand why non-Mormons are suspicious of the motivation when LDS members want to just socialize? Over my lifetime of 60 years I have tried to be friends with a few Mormons. It failed because in the end, the motivation was always to try to "convert" me. I thought the Harry Potter thing was fun. I thought the idea of a game of Quidditch seemed like fun. But, alas, even this turns out to be a missionary tool. Please, Latter-day Saints, try to understand some of us just want to be friends and good neighbors ( or play a game of Quidditch). We are not all potential converts.

Regarding your response to "Anonymous" - please read the post by "Anonymous" a little more closely - that writer is not likely even LDS (for starters, someone LDS would not start their post with a euphemism of profaning the name of God). Second, notice the use of the 3rd-person pronoun....

So don't sweat it. Lots of LDS people mingle and have friends of different faiths, and no proselyting goes on. I'm LDS, and have been proselyted by friends of other faiths - yes, it makes things awkward, doesn't it. Knowing how it is to be on the receiving end, I am careful to not be guilty of the same faux pas.

So go enjoy Quidditch - sounds like a blast!

Actually I was referring to last line in article. However I appreciate the fact that you know what I am talking about. I bet you guys do get a lot of proselytizing. I think I will just chill now. Join me in a game of Quidditch? We both agree not to try to convert each other. I promise to lighten up. Thanks for your comment...Now grab that broom and let's go at it! Good night my friend.
