Better keep ACORN out then.

Why stop here?  | 12:54 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
We should include legislators in this crack down. No representatives with criminal records, tax debts, or late child support payments.

Bogus argument. | 5:27 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
In reply to these accusations, how many criminals are still out there that haven't been prosecuted or caught yet? Like most of our congressmen and state legislators who are rampant law breakers and the most to fear. We have more faith in citizens or criminals than law makers.

I agree with being indentifiable and citizenship and this is rather moot an argument over past criminal charges. Every american is a criminal or potential criminal so get off the soap box.

All I am concerned about is cities and states counting illegals as citizens to falsify information for financial purposes. Illegals have no place in this country and are all outcasts to the peace and stability of our county.

When we talk about no criminal records, are we referring just to felony convictions or do misdemeanors count also?

Can someone be prevented from being a census counter because of something done 20 years ago when they were barely 18? Or only more recent things?

Are we truly a country now that holds there is no redemption and individuals can never change?

I can't believe there is defense for hiring criminals to do this job. Where is the outrage that the gov't didn't prioritize those who have been laid off in the past year and maybe give them these jobs without having to take a hit to their unemployment checks. But no....people want to whine about criminals being denied a job. Wake up, people.

There is a simple solution to keep these census workers away from your door. Just fill out the census form when it gets mailed to your house or apartment and mail it back. If you do that right away, your census worries are over and no one will come knocking at your door.
Count SSN | 12:15 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Every citizen and legal resident has a Social Security number. If the count is 10-30 million higher than the number of SSN somebody is fudging the numbers in the estimates. What needs to be done is simply have the census record where the social security numbers(citizens) are living on the census for apportionment purposes. Let's stop estimating and get a reasonably accurate count, the constitutional purpose of the census.

As a side note, are newly hired census workers being E-Verified, as required? If you think ACORN and other criminals are a problem what about hiring "undocumented" persons, illegal aliens or otherwise? There are plenty of others in addition to the "undocumented" immigrants, that are using fraudulent identification.
