This will be a good matchup.
Look for Grand to grind it out and keep Moyle in check. Enterprise got some luck against SS Rams but it will run out against Grand.
Prediction: Grand 26- Enterprise 17
Luck? | 5:35 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
JD there was no luck involved in Enterprise beating South Sevier. Maybe SS is just overrated and had been winning on luck that just ran out. Face the facts that you lost and own up to a better team beat you.

If you get far enough in the playoffs (very unlikely) Millard will be ready for a rematch!!!
Re: Lucky? | 5:45 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Millard is going to have to get through a very tough South Summit team first, which I think they are verry capable of doing. You bet Millard would be ready for a re-match, and I bet they would LOVE to slaughter South Sevier! GO MILLARD!

I believe that this game and the Millard/South Summit game will be very close games and will come down to who can hold onto the ball. This could be costly for South Summit. The other two games could become blowouts before the final whistle blows.

Let's Go Devils!!! Grand County all the way!!!
BIG VS LITTLE | 7:35 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
This Enterprise/Grand game is a match up of the largest school in 2A and the smallest school in 2A. I'am rootin for the underdog. Enterprise by a field goal! Does it snow in Moab?
RE: BIG VS LITTLE | 9:16 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
NO, it does not snow in Moab
Captain  | 9:37 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
I am not seeing very many people give Enterprise much respect they are a very tough team
RE:Captain | 9:50 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
I will give them some respect. I want to see a San Juan/Enterprise finals matchup. lets go Moyle.
RE: BIG VS LITTLE | 12:19 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Oh yes it does snow in moab. I drove through there tonight. It was snowing nicely.
Anonymous | 9:26 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I think Moyle is a stud. he has a great chance of becoming a state champ...in wrestling. Football not so much. This will be a great game but who ever wins will get beat the next week.
Snowman | 9:49 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Actually Moab recieved 4 inches of snow last night, but it will probably be gone by tomorrow3ed
Why is it... | 10:41 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
...that all the 1A move ups to 2A claim to be the smallest? Kanab does, Enterprise does and so does N. Sevier. Sounds like your all just looking for excuses.
Interesting | 11:31 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Now the smallest 2A school by far is Kanab. Then, N. Sevier, N. Summit, and Millard. Enterprise and Parowan fall in the middle with some of the others. Grand is by far the largest; followed by Beaver and San Juan. Didn't realize Kanab was so small, and Grand was so big. Doesn't really matter, does it? As they are all 2A.
Several  | 11:36 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
There are several 2A schools that are smaller than Enterprise.
Anonymous | 11:44 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
they wernt 1A moving up they were 2A schools who played 1A football, they were 2A in all other sports
arms | 1:40 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
It should be a great match Enterprise and Moab. Moab is not taking them light, Moyle is a great QB and they also have sound receivers. But Moab will show up to play. I think they have two of the best running backs in 2A.
SMALLEST SCHOOL? | 4:03 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Go to the UHSAA web sight and see for yourselves. The person who said that Grand was the largest and Enterprise was the smallest, was correct!
Enterprise, Parowan, Kanab and No. Sevier are the four smallest schools in 2A. All are within a few students of each other but Enterprise is the smallest.
ENT--195
KANAB--197
PAROWAN--204

GRAND--328
SO.SEVIER--314
SO. SUMMIT--302

THE REST OF THE SCHOOLS? BETWEEN 220 AND 270.

In case Ya didnt notice, this is a High School Football Blob. This is not a High school wrestling blog.If yur already lookin forward to the wrestling season then yur already done. Give yur Enterprise team some credit and confidence. They deserve it. Wrestling is still quit a ways away, but will be here soon enough. Now go out and make football happen

Enrollment | 5:01 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I went to the UHSAA web site and here are the total enrollments (not just 10-12) for all of the remaining teams:
Kanab 255
Enterprise 257
Parowan 267
Millard 305
San Juan 375
S. Sevier 384
S. Summit 404
Grand 441

This is from the UHSAA 2009-2010 High School Enrollment and Mileage (pages 93-95) of the Handbook.
These #'s are larger than previous posts because I think they were looking at the "Total Upper 3 Grades" instead of the "Total Enrollment", but even then I saw some discrepancies (like 190 for Enterprise and not 195).
It doesn't really matter though. All that matters is the size of the heart and will to win. Each school can still only put 11 kids on the field.

WOW!!! | 7:02 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
The difference between the smallest and biggest 2A schools is huge. That almost double Kanab's size. And Kanab has still been able to hang with everyone. Even S. Summit has 100 more kids than Millard. That's a big deal, when you are looking at those small of numbers. Good job to the four smallest schools.
Observation | 7:46 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Ya Grand has 450 kids but whydo they only have 45 kids on the team? When I was in Moab and saw a game, they only dressed 32 kids for varsity. Are kids just not interested in football down in Moab?
Re: enrollment | 9:45 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
If you knew anything about how they count the kids you would know that they only count 10-12 as far as where they place teams.
Re: Re: enrollment  | 11:25 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I put the total # because I know that there are a number of 2A schools that suit-up/play some Freshman at the varsity level and so I included the 9th grade #'s. But, to make you happy here are the 10-12 #'s from the same source.
Enterprise 190
Parowan 191
Kanab 200
Millard 227
S. Sevier 279
San Juan 287
S. Summit 304
Grand 334
The Wiz | 5:51 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Remember as raw numbers the differences between the small and the big 2A schools looks a little uneven, but if you look at the real numbers it isn't quite as bad.

Example, Half of all these numbers are girls, and you need to divide them by class.

Grand has 334 total (10-12) = 167 boys or 55 boys per grade.

Enterprise has 190 total (10-12) = 95 boys or 31 boys per grade.

A difference of 24 boys per grade doesn't sound as bad a 334 to 190, and the numbers get even closer when compared to other schools. So if this is the smallest and the largest example the schools in 2A are no more than 24 boys difference.

Don't freak out over numbers they are not that far apart.

Good job to the small schools still.
re: The Wiz | 8:23 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
24 more boys per grade is a big deal in a 2A school. BIG deal, especially when nowadays, there are other things pulling for their time, that they are picking over football. 24 extra boys per grade times three grades is a 2A football in itself.
The Wiz Again | 6:25 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I guess the small 2A schools would rather play the 1A schools because the ratio of enrollments is better?

Rich 94 total students (10-12) = 47 boys or 15 per grade Milford is even smaller at 83 total students.

Enterprise 190 total (10-12) = 95 boys or 31 per grade

I don't recall North Sevier, Kanab, Enterprise, or Parowan complaining about enrollment numbers last year?

This argument can never be settled. No matter what the cut off is there will be small and large 2A and 1A schools.

I think the 1A and he 2A should be combined anyway. The 1A is nothing more than a single region (8 teams), and 2A is barely better (2 regions of 12 teams). The 1A schools play the 2A schools in non region play anyway, why not include them all in 2A for a total of 20 teams and three different regions.

All things said, the small schools in 2A were the big schools in 1A and it looks like they are competing just fine. Parowan, Kanab, and Enterprise (tri-region champ) are all in the quarter finals.

Small schools have done well and good for them.
BIG VS LITTLE | 9:39 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
My original post on the littlest school (Enterprise) playing the largest school (Grand) was only to say just that. I wasn't complaining. I love to root for the smaller schools.
