While this game may be close in the 1st quarter, the SS Rams will break it open behind Wilson to Bishoff. McAllister should be coach of the year as he is a great motivator and role model for the young men on this team.
This program is on the rise and should be in the top rungs of 2A football for years to come.

Do you even listen to the wild crazy comments that come from your head? Though I think that South Sevier should win this game, I would love for Parowan to win. You think that McAllister should be coach of the year, but there are plenty of coaches who qualify just as much across the state, and frankly, are more qualified than McAllister. I think South Sevier is just going to be a one hit wonder. You just don't know how to breed them over there. It's okay though, you guys still have basketball. Let's go Millard, show them South Summit boys our tradition, and our ground-n'-pound style! "The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender!"
BFS!BFS!
RE: JD Books | 5:27 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
I predict all four games will be close for the first few minutes of the 1st quarter. 0-0 for atleast 10 seconds unless these kids can return a kickoff faster than that.

As I too live in Monroe you are a disgrace. We all hope that we will win the championship, but for you saying that we are unbeatable is rediculous. Any one could win on any given day. I believe this is going to be our last chance for a long time to win the title. We lose so much talent this year. I wish every one the best is the playoffs. My bet is that the Rams are going to win.

Do you think JD even has a job?
Just for the record | 5:54 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Just for the record what is McCallister's over all record as a football coach? How has baseball done since he took over knowing baseball has a long tradition in Monroe? Mr. Books can you answer me those two questions?
Cowboy Fan | 5:57 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
WHoa! BGT settle down again... South Sevier has put together a great season without the benifit of the tradition that some of the rest of us enjoy and they deserve a little more credit and respect than your giving them. McAllister does deserve a huge pat on the back for what he has done and I believe will continue to do and yes maybe even coach of the year. After all he is a Cowboy!!
JD Books | 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
For the record, I have never said once that South Sevier is "unbeatable".
Re: JD books | 7:01 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Yes, yes you have. You talk them up like McCallister is Urban Meyer and that the team is the Florida Gators. Give it a rest.
Parowan Fan | 7:42 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Wow you south sevier guys sure argue a lot for a game that you are guarenteed to win. Don't worry people in parowan think Labrum is Urban Meyer, Mike Kry. bill parcells, and Red Ar. all rolled into one.
Re : JD Books | 9:14 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
You will be lucky to win another game.
ELMER | 9:47 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Parowan is better than you all think.

My picks:
SS 31 PAROWAN 28
ENT 42 GRAND 31
KANAB 44 SJ 42
MIL 33 SS 27

Yes i'am a region 13 fan.
re: elmer | 11:36 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
you also know nothing about football... You will go 1 for 4 on your picks ill let you figure out which one you got right....
re: Elmer | 8:03 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
You have to be kidding! You really think Kanab can put up 44 points on San Juan "D". They have only given up 103 all year and now Kanab will put up almost half of that? I think the Millard/SS game will be a low scoring one as well they both grind it out and have great defenses. The other two could become shootouts like you predict.

To: Just for the record:

Wins and losses are not important when you are building a program. Coach Mac is molding young men into champions in both football and baseball. You are right that baseball has been down for a few years but that will change this year. With football, it takes time to instill a culture of not only winning but expecting to win. Since the mid 70's, and again in the early 80's that culture has not existed since.
RE: JD Books | 10:11 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I will agree that it is important to teach these young men life lessons while teaching them football but come on you do measure success by wins and losses. If you want to build a successful program then you have to start winning at some point and continue to win consistently like Kanab, Millard, North Summit, and San Juan.
Anonymous | 10:36 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Ahhhh, what a weight off their shoulders! Who would want the burden of an outright region championship and an undefeated season? Go Rams! (parowan)
ram man | 11:12 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
although i am from parowan i believe the top teams are San juan, south summit, and south sevier. the enterprise and grand game is a toss up. but i think enterprise will make it happen.
Re: 8:53 | 11:17 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009

It's a given top tier coaches must instil quality principles and build character in the athletes he/she coaches. It's also a given that wins and loses don't tell the complete story. However quality principles and character lead to a fair amount of success. Still with SS one has to wonder if we have a case of a program evovling into a winning, quality program or a case of finally a grade of athletes came along who could make any coach look pretty good. Also remember McCalister didn't start at SS. He has a coaching history that starts way before that.
Top Tier Coach Cont | 11:24 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Here's a coach I would pay kudos to as the type of ocach I am speaking of. I have never met or associated with him, but from afar have repsected him for what he has accomplised. In both baseball and basketball, Coach Lambrum has taken less talented and publicized teams and either won a state title or made a lot of noise getting close. He Always seems to have his teams playing the best ball come tourney time and rarely if ever do they beat themselves. Now I don't know if they can beat SS this weekend becasue I do belive SS has way more talent, but I do predict Parowan will show up believing they can win and be prepared to exucute their game plan. If SS feeds their confidence at all, who knows what happens! A good coach year in and year out puts kids in exactly that place. Then the wins take care of themself.
Coaches | 1:29 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Coaches are overrated!!! Labrum did well when he had talent and didn't when he did. It's more the type of kids you have that determine how you play at the end of the year. Coaches can try and teach but it really comes down to it the talent of the kids. And in this game SS has more talent.
re: Coaches | 1:53 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Are you just trying to provoke a response? Talent definitely helps, but it basically comes down to - can the coach get the boys to play as a team - a real, honest-to-goodness team? A few very talented players on a team will NEVER beat a so-so talented team, where each kid does their job, and they work as a team - NEVER. The coach is the one, who gets them to do that. Good coaches are imperative.
HUH | 2:05 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Who is JD? S.S. baseball has gone into the pits since McAllister took over. Football hasn't gone anywhere even with a few very talented teams.
JD Books | 3:32 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
It takes time for programs to build that have been down. Macallister will build the baseball team back to glory. This could be the year. He has already built the foundation of the football program so that it will yield fruit for years to come.
RE:COACHES | 3:38 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
So how did Lambrum beat NS last week. They lost big to NS earlier in the year with both having the same team. The game wasn't even close. One team was ready and prepared and one wasn't. The coaches had nothing to do with that?
FAN | 4:37 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I think No. Sevier was missing some players. Check on that before you give Parowan to much credit.
Golden Trophy | 8:53 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
I saw a picture of "the Golden Trophy" being hoisted in the air on Millard's football facebook page. JD, it really does get hoisted, when and if you win a State Championship.....AHHHHHH, the Golden Trophy.
former ss player | 3:20 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
so as a former player of the " great travis McAllister" I can honestly say McAllister has no idea how to use the talent he has the past year with bishoff and the rest of his recieving crew. In fact he never has unless he is up against the ropes then he relys on them and they usually get the job done and when they fail he bails on them You think he deserves choach of the year I think he should get fired give coach hepworht the job or even chisholm but McAllister has no idea how to coach the wins you have seen this year all are acredited to the players not the coach. if south sevier wants a chance at winning this year they need to go to the air ground and pound works for millard and kanab and you " schools of tradition" but what happened at enterprise will happen again McAllisters can not has not and NEVER will be able to to out coach anoyne this from one of McAllisters former player his former go to players. again dont give credit to McAllister but to the Players mostly the recievers
RE: | 2:22 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
McAllister molding young men?! you've got to be joking me!!! several years ago the baseball team had a problem with their players and getting hi off of air dusters. had it not been for some of the assistant coaches McAllister wouldn't have done anything to punish the boys for their actions letting them off easy! how does this mold boys into men? by letting them think they can get away with whatever they want with no consequences? i think not! however i do agree with former ss player in that most of his assistant coaches would be very good candidates for his job and molding boys into real men!
