"No one has more playoff experience than Kanab." I beg to differ, that is completely false. Millard leads the state in playoff appearances and region titles.

The real question here is, can the paper tiger, San Juan stand up to the relentless passing of Brinkerhoff. The answer is yes, but just barely.
San Juan will ding Brinkerhoff up and he will be less effective. The paper tiger survives only to have to face the SS Rams the next week.
Prediction: SJ 24 Kanab 21
RE: Big Green Tractor | 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
I believe what the author is saying is that in the years that these kids have been in the program they have been in the championship game each year so the Cowboys have alot of big game experience. Yes Millard has alot of playoff appearances but not the kids playing this year.

I actually think there will be an upset here. Even though San Juan has a decent amount of playoff experience, I think they will come in and underestimate Kanab. I look for a close match, that will come down to the fourth quarter. Kanab wins 27-26.
Assuming if San Juan wins, they will face South Sevier, and that will be no contest. These so called "paper tigers" will, yet again, live up to their name, and DESTROY south sevier, just like Millard did to Parowan. I will put this in terms of the NFL. San Juan being the Colts, while South Sevier being well......the Rams =P

Settle down there BGT. The point was that the cowboys have been in the big show the last four years in a row. While the Eagles have a great tradition they were not there last year. Kanab graduated 17 seniors last year and is still the smallest 2A school out there but they have grown a lot this season. The Bronco's have had a great season and deserve to be #1 but it's playoff time and the Cowboy's are comin to town. Bring it on boys!
Re: Re: Big Green Tractor | 5:40 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Yeah, I went back and read through it, I agree with you. My bad. Nonetheless, I expect all four of these games to be close this weekend. It is anyone's game. Let's go Millard!
Cowboy | 7:04 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Im lookin for the upset. But either way it goes it will be good both teams have had great seasons and both deserve to win. I hope to see an upset. Put the women and children to bed, its time for playoff football folks! Go get um Cowboys!!!!!
Re: JD Books | 7:43 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Who cares what you think. You should be worried about your own game this weekend.
where is SJ? | 9:27 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Have you noticed that there are seldom SJ comments on here?
RE:Big Green Tractor | 9:37 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Hey BGT,I have to disagree with you on San Juan underestimating the cowboys. I think that San Juan might be the only team to know exactly how good kanab can be. even before and after kanabs losses broncos have been saying that kanab will be in the playoffs and is capable of reaching the finals.
89Bronco | 9:54 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
A SJ comment for you...albeit this could be a good game since Kanab has always had a solid football program, it really shouldn't be on Saturday. Kanab has not been consistent all year (with all your players or not), while SJ has taken care of business with their only loss coming to Durango, CO (#4 ranked 4A team in CO and still undeafeated, check the rankings, its true!) in a game where they dominated but gave up a pick six, and a kick return for another TD to lose the game. Durango only had 6 1st downs the whole game and SJ had over 350 yds of offense! Jace Holliday is a stud and SJ has plenty of other weapons to go along with him that should make this game a 35-14 win for SJ. No offense Kanab, I have always respected your program but it is going to be a long trip on Saturday!
Interesting | 9:10 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
There usually aren't very many SJ comments, but their whole town shows up for the games. They probably just leave it on the field for the boys to handle. And they seem to be doing just that.
Kanab | 10:06 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Mark my word, Coach Orton and his staff will has his kids ready to play. This may be one of the best first round matchups in the state. DesNews, you should make the trip. Good luck to both teams, but as always, I am dead red sporting a Cowboy hat.

Good luck Bucky!!
I bleed RED | 11:20 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Kanab will come through and win this game. San Juan is going to be rusty. Kanab by 7.

We are going to have a ho down on the Bronco field after we show them how football is played. We might have started the year off with a loss against them but we arent ending the season with a loss. Go Cowboys!!
Kanab QB | 12:13 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
He is healthy and playing?
Always A Cowboys Fan | 12:21 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Best of luck to both teams.

Here is the reason why the whole town of Blanding shows up to every single football game: we believe in our team. One heart, one team. We dream it, see it, and do it. We bring all we have every single year, every single game. No team is perfect, especially not us, but we believe in our boys and we know they can do it. Hopefully they will give us another Bronco victory, but either way, we love them and support them. GO BRONCOS!!!!
Hey BGT | 12:38 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Dont start flip flopping. A week ago you said you predict a San Juan vs Millard final just like in 2006. You are starting to sound like JD Books.
At 100%... | 1:07 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
...healthy Kanab is the best team in 2A West. I know they had some setbacks against 3 other 2A West teams but they weren't 100% healthy for any Region game. Orton went down against N. Sevier and missed all but one Region game. More healthy now than they've been in a while I still like San Juan by two scores 28-14.

re: Bronco64 | 1:12 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I would definitely agree. I'm from an different 2A school, which is decent in sports. But we have a great deal of fair weather fans. It's rough to listen to and watch. Our expectations are always high, but it's a killer for the coaches and players when the expectations aren't met. I have lots of respect for your fans.
As far as I can tell | 1:46 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
None of the 2A West teams have been 100% healthy all season. So, there is no way of knowing who is/was the "best". Most 2A teams would probably disagree with you.
ha ha ha | 1:54 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
good luck broncos as your gonna need it in the court room also...hmmm i recognize alot of names could be related....but good luck as your gonna need it , no passing offense and if you get past this one anyways the other team has already figured you out! PRETENDERS!!
Anonymous | 2:32 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
You might have it figured out but the real question is can you stop it. Don think so!
RE: ha ha ha | 2:37 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
What are talking about... court room? No passing? Seems to me that Cam is second in yards per game and touchdowns in 2A. Brinkerhoff has 31 more yards than Cam in 1 more game. Cam has thrown 66 less times than Brinkerhoff. Moyle is far ahead of both Shumway and Brinkerhoff. San Juan might not throw as often as Kanab or Enterprise but they appear to eat up the yards when they do so go ahead and stack the box with 8 or 9 and watch Jimmy and Benny have huge games.
Kanab Loyal | 2:50 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Jace who? He wont do nothing against Kanab. This Shumway kid wont tackle anyone this saturday. As for the Bronco defense good luck. Oh and San Juan we dare you to throw the ball.
Re: Hey BGT | 3:26 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
That was before I knew Orton was healthy. Though I think all around San Juan is a better team, I wouldn't be surprised if Kanab came up with the upset win. That is what I was trying to say, I'm not flipflopping.
LOL!! | 3:33 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Talking trash about passing when your QB has completed only 48% of his passes!!! Not to mention Kanab's stellar offense that only averging 21.7 ppm While your D gives up 20. If you want to win you're going to have to score more than 21 points.

To Kanab Loyal...don't you wish Kanab had a Defensive Tackle that's leading the entire state 1A-5A in tackles. Thats right a DT! The rest of the top ten consist of one Safety and 8 Line Backers. You'll need all five O-lineman to stop Shumway then what will you do with the other 3 on SJ's D line they're pretty good themselves!!!
Porkins | 3:33 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
South Sevier is the best 2A team from top to bottom. They have D1 talent everywhere.
oh here we go again | 4:38 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
talk , talk until the games over cause Manti owned you and kanab kicked you before so there's the door , then you can get ready for the real justice!
remember Manti | 4:43 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
well this time you'll never forget Kanab!bye bye and don't cry like last year!
Re: Porkins | 5:22 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Yeah, let me guess, they end up playing for YBU? Because as the look of it, BYU looked about as good against TCU as South Sevier did against Enterprise. South Sevier won't be making it past the semifinals. So when you come back to reality, you can leave the real good football to the big boys.
South Sevier Fan | 6:04 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Kanab, you lost to us(SS), Enterprise, Millard, and San Juan....... and now everyone thinks you will kill San Juan, KEEP DREAMING... BUT,San Juan its doesnt matter if you do or not cause our team( South Sevier) is gonna beat them in the Semi-Finals... MARK MY WORDS.....
RE: ha ha ha | 6:07 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
ha wow last time Kanab played us a 33-13 whooping was put on them and don't say it was a fluke cause last i checked the fourth quarter was still part of the game so quit talking and just bring it on the field SJ doesn't do their talking on some blogs they do it on the field HAHAHA
Cowboy for life  | 6:15 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
All you Cowboy fans or players that are on here we appreciate the support but quit talking if we would of won the first time then we could of talked some smack but we lost 33-13 we don't need to give the Broncos anymore motivation before they steam roll us and we are crying on the way home
RE: Kanab Loyal | 6:16 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
We do understand that you might not know who Jace is, after all your players were never properly introduced as they were not able to tackle him and see him face to face last time you played SJ. During the last game he touched the ball 17 times and had 204 yards to show for it along with 2 touchdowns. So if you don't know him by now you might want to get a hold of some game film to watch!
RE: South Sevier Fan | 6:25 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
alright we will mark your words and then we will mark up another W in the win column and another South Sevier dissapointment
RE: South Sevier Fan | 6:41 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
You barely beat Beaver and Kanab. Then you get beat by Enterprise. You guys are on the down fall. Worry about Parowan. Of all the blogs I have read San Juan and South Summit sure dont have much to say. It sounds like the West teams sure have a lot to say. I think its because the East region just plays football and do their talking on the field.
Anonymous | 6:48 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Who is Jace lol. In about three weeks he will be the 2A player of the year. And South Sevier with their 5 D-1 player but only 2 all-state players(maybe) will have to watch San Juan win the championship from the sideline.
san juan | 6:56 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
sounds like a prison to me...oh maybe to some in the future but kanab sounds like a winner to me!!
LIghts Out!! | 6:56 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Watch Kanab bring the rain on the Donkeys. San Juan is going to end the season crying again. Its ok you have basketball to look forward to. Hey maybe you will make the state hoops tournament this year. You havent been to one of those in a while.
Re: Re: South Sevier Fan | 6:58 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
With the exception of South Sevier.
king of da antt hill! | 7:14 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
2A!!
S. Summit | 7:52 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
They have had plenty to say. San Juan is the one who doesn't have much to say.
kanab loyal | 9:54 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
okay we will throw the ball. oh and that shumway kid you are talking about leads the state in tackles and the reason we dont pass is because you can't stop our running game anyways. i will put it this way why fix somthing that is not broken.
RE: everbody  | 10:30 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
San Juan will win it all
RE: kanab loyal | 10:48 a.m. Oct. 30, 2009
seriously we hardly throw the ball especially when we are beaating someone by 14 or more we have class
south summit fan | 6:09 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
I hate to admit it but san juan has the 2 best players in 2a.Holliday on offense,Shumway on defense.
Kanab | 11:41 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Cant wait to smear the Broncos on their home turf. They will be crying!
San Juan Fan | 4:08 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Good Game Kanab, could have gone either way. All the boys played super hard. Way to many calls on both sides.
