I am wondering why he wouldn't have had it right from the start so he could have healed during Pre Seasosn games and would have been almost ready to go now.???

Yeah! I smell conspiracy!!
Oh well | 1:05 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Korver is only an average 3 point shooter anyways.

59th in the league last season to be exact. Outside of FT shooting the rest of his game is lame anyways.

By the time Korver gets back hopefully Wes Mathews will have earned his spot ahead of Korver. Mathews has more of a complete skillset anyways and he will be alot cheaper to sign. Then we could package Korver in a trade.

Korver needs to get gone at the end of the season at the latest. Nice guy but has really not effectively done what he was brought here to do.

Ummm... not paying attention? | 1:09 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
No offense (DR28) but have you not seen any of the stories following this knee issue with Korver? Your post suggest not, so here's a quick update... Korver's knee started bothering him in training camp, he went for an MRI, and was told he simply needed to rest the knee for the inflammation to settle... and all would be fine. After attempting to rest the knee, then to practice/play some, the knee became very painful again. Once again, whatever doctor/trainer was treating him, suggested that the condition simply needed rest. After quite a bit of frustration on Korver's part... wanting to play, but trying to rest the knee, yet still having pain, the Jazz finally sent him for another opinion... at which time it was discovered that he had bone spur(s) under the knee cap... a condition which requires SURGERY and not rest! If anyone should be (and probably is) frustrated, it would be Korver, who is now looking at surgery right as the season begins... and missing games during a contract year in which he needs to be playing.

Korver's game improved | 1:55 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
and his win score jumped last year. He is also crucial to opening up the inside. The Jazz were barely .500 before they got Korver.

Could the Jazz do better? Yes. Would it cost them more? Maybe. However, it takes a year or more to learn Sloan's system. Korver knows the system and his shooting percentage should go back up this year. There is a reason why he is in the games at the close. Sloan likes to win and Korver tips the balance at the end.

If the Jazz can get a better player for cheaper that would be a smart business move. That goes for all of the Jazz players. However, that has not been the Jazz culture. The Jazz find people who fit the system that Sloan likes and hang onto them.

As long as you do not tick off Sloan you probably have a job for life.

If Sloan would actually design some plays for Korver his percentage would soar. Further, the rebounding off of his shots would go up.

Sloan needs to adjust the offense to include set 3 point plays. They are more efficient. There is a time and place to run them.
No conspiracy. | 2:08 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
kyle had a very importatnt hair appointment on Tuesday.
We Need Korver | 2:57 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Let's get Korver healthy again before we start bashing him! You can't always predict when your knee will grow bone spurs! There are plenty of Korver fans that can't wait for him to recuperate and play again. We will miss watching his smooth shooting. No...not every 3 point shot goes in the hole, but whose does? Korver hleps the Jazz in untold ways....not to mention selling tickets to an important fanbase! The Jazz need Korver.
Why?????? | 3:32 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Why didn't he have the surgery a month ago when he knew he needed it? He should be docked pay for the procrastination.

Korver may be only an average 3-point shooter but he's still the best we got.
Why??? | 4:11 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
It amazes me how little one reads before making a comment. "Why????????" Your question has been answered, and then some. The REASON he didn't have surgery a month ago was because he was misdiagnosed, and told that REST ALONE would heal the knee. He was diagnosed with Chondromalacia, a condition that requires rest, followed by rehab.... much different than bone spurs which require surgery. Who said Korver knew a month ago that he needed surgery? Wrong. He was told repeatedly that rest alone would be enough to settle the inflammation. It was only after going for another opinion that he was diagnosed with bone spur(s), which require surgery (which was, what on Thursday or Friday of this past week?).

Looks like our one trick pony has pulled up lame at the starting gate. This guy is over paid. I say must trade. lol

Second time the Jazz have been burned by thier doctors apparent lack of knowledge. Knees don't just swell up for no reason. I knew when I heard that "rest" was not going to help. Same thing last year when it was obvious that Booz needed surgery. Waited a month then got surgery after a second opition. Sounds like Jazz need some new docs to me.

Korver's got his $5,163,636 dollars this season whatever he does. Add that to the millions and millions he already has. Why would he be worried about an inflamed knee in the off-season?(!) A second opinion would have taken at least .00000000001 percent out of his bank account, times are tough!

He should join Matty H. in Atlanta "resting" while we pay HIM his $6,500,000 this season. Isn't the NBA great? Not.
Back off | 5:18 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Yo not all NBA players are all about the money. Obviously Korver isn't the best player, but he loves the game. He may not be quick on defense but he tries. He is a hustler and with his wrist better his shooting should be better too. You can't say he will be the same as last season he said that his wrist hasn't felt this good in a long time. We haven't seen him yet this season...which isn't totally his fault. Back off and let him play this season. If he doesn't improve then we talk trade, but maybe he will impress you this year.
Agree with Back off... | 6:05 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
and would like to add that IF Korver were all about himself and the money he makes (which has been established NOT to be the case... but for the sake of argument...), financially speaking, this surgery is not in his best interest, being that he will be looking for a new contract. Why someone would suggest that he knew he needed surgery, decided to opt in (get his money) and have surgery during the season is ridiculous... it hurts his value going into free agency. He knows this, along with anyone on the planet that knows anthing about the NBA.

Kover makes the Jazz better. End of story. We are fortunate to have him.

he should not have waited around until the season started. with cj and korver out we are hurting. I agree we need new docs.
