Rich Rebels | 6:58 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Sophomore setter Cassidy McKee Rocks! Good Luck Rebels and besides Courney Lamborn, Nicole lamborn, and Maude Peart hitters menitoned in the article, Ashley Argyle anchors the team when she is on and opens everything up. This is your week Ashley and do not count out Shantae Brown will be on this week also and Sophomore Amy Weston will give the opponents fits as well. Go Rebels! Good Luck. Get ready for the Honk Out!! It will be a Happy Halloween!

Where are you?
Re Region 16 | 11:26 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
You can try but can you get past the unstoppable Region 20??? I think not
Region 16 | 11:56 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
uh yeah i think so
Wow Rregion 20 | 2:25 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
The unstoppable region 20? Did you already forgot you gave up 18 state championships over the last 20 years to region 16. That seems a little weird that you are calling yourselves unstoppable. Yes you have a talented team but unstoppable? maybe its true. maybe your unstoppable. You probably are.
Re: play-in games | 3:39 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Whitehorse beat Oakley in their play-in game. Monument Valley beat Wendover. Those are the only two I know of.

I have weighed in on the Top 20 article, but I feel that Amy Donaldson's article merits a word or two. Rich's complete domination in volleyball is flat out amazing. The other teams in the region need to make some noise though. Other than Rich, who has even made a dent at state lately? Altamont took 7th in 2007. Last year neither Duchesne or Altamont even placed, so c'mon Duchesne and Altamont, hold your end up, okay?
While I think that the Piute/St. Joseph game is going to be a dandy, the Duchesne/Monticello game looks like a gem also. I hope I am not giving Duchesne too much credit, but anyone who can beat Rich in Randolph has the capabilities of knocking off a very good team.
I do feel there won't be a lot of drama in the lower half of the bracket until the semis, but the top half is loaded. And, yes, Amy, the 1A is as balanced as it has been in a long time with quality teams. Coach Norris is right. Rich has made all teams step up to keep from getting embarrassed. More later.

Panguitch is going to take state so back off.!!!!!!
yeah no they are not! they think they are good because they play ALLLLL year, and yeah they are pretty good, but not that good! deal with it!
Re Peter king | 9:34 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Thanx tons for your support to region 16. I agree with Norris as well, rich is really bringing 1A alive. And no worries Duchesne and Altamont plan on making some noise this year. Good Luck to all teams. Go Region 16!!!!
Whitehorse Alum | 10:24 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Go Raiders!
This is gonna be an exciting tournament, especially with the 'scrappiness' every team displays this year! i can't wait!

Anonymous | 3:58 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Milford Won!!
Question | 7:06 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
How is Bryce Valley this year?? Anyone know??
Rating the Mustangs | 7:58 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Bryce Valley is in that 2nd tier in Region 20. Panguitch and Piute are in the upper echelon, with Bryce Valley and Wayne right below them. The others really fall off after that. Will B.V. threaten for a title? No! Will Wayne? Again that is a no. Only Panguitch and Piute have realistic aspirations of winning the tournament.
So how about someone telling us who the legitimate contenders are from the other regions. Don't give us the "mom prognostication" but give us the facts. If your team doesn't have a couple of good hitters, if they don't have a good setter, if they don't defend well, if they can't block, they are not going to win it all.
C'mon who are the legitimate contenders?
RE Rating the Mustangs | 8:31 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Well Rich, Altamont, Duchesne, and ICS all have that, ICS not as much but they pull it together.
Anonymous | 9:27 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Bryce Valley has two solid players. Cornforth and nelson are a good setter spiker combo. They are young cornforth a sophomore and nelson a junior. Think they should take care of dugway. They played panguitch 19 to 25 several sets this year.
Anonymous | 9:31 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I think it will be piut panguitch monticello and rich as contenders.
Re Anonymous  | 6:23 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
If your talking about the top 4 then no, cuz if they win Monticello and Piute will meet in the quarters
Region 16 | 6:28 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Go Longhorns, Eagles, Rebels, and Mustangs!!!!!!
Re Region 16  | 11:07 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
heck yes, our region is the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re Region 16 | 11:09 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009
are you kidding me, Region 20's number 2 beat your number 1!!! Seriously get real
Anonymous | 1:34 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
The only team even worth playing from region 16 is rich they have proved that they are a good team. But region 20 has proven that every team in that region will be tough. It has been proven in recent years how tough region 20 has been.
Re Anonymous  | 2:24 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Key word HAS BEEN!! Region 16 will dominate this year
Peter King Picks | 9:49 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
Just watched an exciting Yankees/Phillies game that Mariano closed out with flair. Looking forward to the return of Brett Favre to Green Bay Sunday, too, but it's time to make some picks here concerning the 1A volleyball tourney. The teams moving through to the semis for Saturday Morning are these: Altamont and Piute on the top half. Panguitch and Rich on the bottom. Teams that have a shot at changing this? I will give one team a shot and that's ....no, never mind. This will be your final four. After I watch these four play, I will tell you who will advance to the championship and who will win it. You may be in for a surprise.

Hope these picks don't make that one particular vein stick out in your temple, or make you pick up your laptop and call me an ignorant fool. Before you do any of that, just slip down to UVU and watch it unfold.
To you other 12 teams that qualified for state, congratulations! Well done! You have had solid seasons and should be proud of your accomplishments.
Making it to state this year was noteworthy. Until tomorrow....
Sorry Peter | 9:54 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009
You are close but you are completely blowing one pick. Monticello, not Piute, will come out of that quarter. Monticello has the seniors and the guts to put the pressure on the T-birds, and they (Piute) will fold like an old towel. In case you want to know, Mr. King, Monticello will play Panguitch for the title and will upset them. No veins, no laptop, just setting one of your mistakes right.

Go Bucks!
Anonymous | 4:05 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
So it should be over who won Monticello or Piute?
Huntin Fool | 6:28 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
Deer season is still going because Piute just got some Bucks!!! Monticello played hard they showed alot of character. Bobcat season opens tomorrow...
Piute Fan | 9:13 p.m. Oct. 30, 2009
The Piute Girls have a lot of skills. As long as they keep theyre minds in the game and stay focuse we can have a good chance at taking state. In Fact I know we can take state.

GOOD LOOK PIUTE WERE THINKING OF YOU!!!
rich  | 10:55 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
