GOOD LUCK Lady Rams!!! You have your work cut out for you with some really good teams to play - should make way for some fun volleyball to watch!! We know you can do it!
Mrs. Books | 10:53 p.m. Oct. 26, 2009
I can't believe anybody would chose anyone over South Sevier. We are the best and we will bring home the gold trophy.
Correction | 12:39 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Shelby Dalton of Grand is a junior, and the best athlete in 2a regardless of sport or gender. GO GRAND!!!

Way to go volleyball, this feels like a great year for sports down here in Moab. Go take state and then help support our football team when we play for the championship come November. GO GRAND OR GO HOME!!!
correction ... | 12:42 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Grand's Shelby Dalton is actually a junior. Hard to believe, especially when you consider she made first team all-state in three sports last year as a sophomore (vollayball, basketball, and softball). She even helped out the track team in her spare time!
2A | 8:15 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Realignment watered down 2A sports. Not nearly as competitive as in the past. Hopefully it will come back in the next few years.
2A FAN | 8:36 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
I guess that if you take into consideration the fact that the four schools that moved up to 3A were a lot better than the new schools that come into 2A, then it's watered down. But lets not take anything away from these other fourteen schools. Besides, Waterford will be very competitive in basketball. 2A actually is what it should be.
2A FAN | 8:40 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
By the way; region 13 is very weak.
re:2A | 9:04 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Watered down? The only team that was moved that did any winning was Richfield. I don't remember ALA, Manti and Juab doing much in volleyball the last couple of years. Waterford was tough when they were in 2A during the last realignment. I think they will get there again. So don't be baggin on 2A. It is still very competitive. 2A is just fine.
wondering | 9:10 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
I wonder how realingment watered down 2A sports, especially on the girls side. Richfield was the only team that was competitive that moved up. Region 13 is down a little, but don't overlook Enterprise.
My Pick | 9:26 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Layton Christian... and I'm from another school. The 2A teams I have seen are very very very weak!
Watered Down? | 10:30 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Ya whoever says the competition in volleyball is down is losing their mind. Richfield was a good team and very competitive, but even then they won 2 championships when they were in 2A. Just remember everybody San Juan has won 9 of the last 12 volleyball championships, and we are coming on strong these last couple of weeks. Experience is going to propel the BRONCOS. Then we will take state in football too. Cant wait to play the RAMS in football and volleyball and show them how to play.
re My Pick | 10:43 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Dont bet against Region 15
2A | 10:45 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
grand is way better than the rams they had a sketchy game both times grand has not seen an opponent they can't beat. they are going to take it all the way

When does Millard and Parowan decide the last spot?
To 2A | 11:45 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Grand has probably not seen a 2A team they can't beat, but there are many 1A teams that they couldn't touch.
reply to 2A fan | 12:51 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Millard is the last spot-they won 1 region game, Parowan won 2
2a fan | 1:08 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
thanks
RE: 2A fan | 1:25 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Grand might not have seen a team the cant beat but then I guess it comes down to if they actually pull it off. Grand has 2 players on their team and teams like San Juan, N. Summit, S. Sevier have multiple players to propel them to the trophy. Everyone knows that all you have to do is shut down SHelby and then what??
Eagle Fan in the Stand! | 1:28 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Way to go LCA Eagles lady volleyball. Take it one game at a time to victory! We love you Ladies! Congrats on your season! Everybody say . . . LCA, LCA, LCA
Grand Fan | 1:57 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
You may shut down Shelby 2 times out of 10 but she just keeps coming at you the other 8. Grand actually has 3 all-state players and about 4 other all region players. That makes for a tough squad. The key here is who plays the best when the championship is on the line. I'm looking for Grand to take it but SS, LC and Blanding are all very good teams. Good luck to all the girls.
1A 2A FAN | 2:17 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Let me remind you all of the difference between 1A and 2A in any and all sports. The top three or four teams in 1A, year in and year out, could compete nicely with the 2A teams. But; the other thirty or so 1A teams would get killed. 1A spots is shallow. 2A sports is much much deeper.
Coffee Drinker | 2:22 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
So pretty much i hope that Grand takes it!!!!! They are so awesome and they have a really good team this year. They have good coaches, considering the past two years when they had a incompitent coaching staff. I feel very confident that this team will go very far! GO DEVILS!!!!
Blanding Fan | 2:42 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
I think Blanding is the best team but i think that grand county will take it all just because no one can stop ~~~~ShElBy DaLtOn~~~
Mrs. Books | 3:43 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Look for the South Sevier Lady Rams to pummel the competition and bring home another gold trophy. They have rich sports bloodlines at coach and at player.
re: Mrs. Books | 7:42 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
The key word in that post was the last one. "Player" They have one player. It takes more than bloodlines and one player and coach to win a championship.
Broncos Baby!!! | 9:31 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009
Yay!!! State volleyball is the best holiday all year!!! I can't wait to watch everyone play!!!! So proud of the Broncos for pulling through everything this year and getting things back together. Carry on the tradition San Juan!!! So many MVP's, All-Staters and State Champs will be there cheering you on!!! Bring it back home!!!!!
Volleyball Fan | 9:57 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Everyone has known all year long that the way to beat Grand is to stop Shelby Dalton, but the fact is, no one has done it yet. She is the best player in 2A by a mile. She has gotten first team all-state in every sport every year (including freshman year, except basketball)
Volleyball Fan | 10:29 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Can't wait for a San Juan/Layton Christian match up in the second round!
VBD | 1:58 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
Shelby is a great player and has a lot of good players around her. SS sevier only has one really good player (King). Nobody has mentioned Enterprise..better look out for them. Beaver is probably the team that has overall the best athletes (7 good seniors), but they have a dippy a?? coach that doesn't know how to keep the best players on the floor all the time.
I won't try and pick a winner, they're too many teams this year are pretty evenly matched. Should be an interesting tourny.
RE: Volleyball Fan | 2:19 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
I agree that should be a good match... However, San Juan has been struggling all year. They are going to have to hold it together and hide their weakness.. which may be tough to do to get by anyone in this tourney. I would guess we will see a shake up at San Juan soon...
Ant killer | 2:25 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009
All of you who are talking about south sevier winning, well they just lost two games in a row last weekend. what an epic failure, bad way to end the season. going into the tournament with a 4 game losing streak........ GO RAMS!;) just kidding go MAESER PREP!!!!!! let's try to win one set this weekend girls!

Can the top 3 teams in 2A play with the top 3 teams in 1A or 3A? The answer is NO!

Cant speak to all 2a teams but lca can play with those top teams.Thier one loss was first game of year not yet teamed up.You are discounting some good 2a teams unjustly.

South Sevier loses to Waterford after a 2-0 lead???
AMAZING | 6:47 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Congrats to all the 2A teams out their and to Region 14 for placing four out of the eight teams! Congrats to LCA, South Summit, Grand and Waterford for making their way to the top.
People can argue all they want about who can or cannot compete, but while you sit in the stands and discount the efforts of all of these teams, you lose what playing high school sports is all about! Shame on you! It's no wonder our children grow up with some of these crappy attitudes when they have support that shows them poor sportsmanship by degrading other players and coaches... get ahold of yourselves and support our youth! Where is your application for coach? Put up or shut up!
Anonymous | 4:45 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
All i want to say is watch out for Region 14 now. Everyone always bags on them and says they are the weakest region but look what happened this year. Good job Waterford, LCA, and South Summit! All of the people that talk up Enterprise, San Juan, South Sevier and Grand can finally shut up when they all got beat out besides Grand.
to San Juan | 10:04 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
well????better luck next year!

Grand should be proud. That's the best the girls have done in a long time. You did a service to your school. It must have been hard to come back after that tough loss but you did it. Congratulations! Don't hang your heads after that. Also, Congratulations to LCA! Way to beat South S!
