It seems that Lisa Adams, though critical of Simonsen, is really the one wants to have everything we can't afford. Voters were not supportive of the Sugar House police station two years ago, though not by much. The people of this city said you can't have everything - and you can't blame Soren for that.

Soren has been an amazing city council member. He stands up for District 7 and the city on issues that matter to most of us, and is not afraid to go out on a limb or think outside the box. That's the mark of a real leader, and he's definitely got my vote.

I only hope Districts 1 and 3 end up with someone like Simonsen to represent them. We're lucky to have him. Go Soren!

I wish I could vote in every District. Why don't we have some city-wide council seats, like Salt Lake County. I would vote for Simonsen, Penfold and Christensen. They have different views, but all seem to care about their community.

Since when has paying attention to details been a hamper to economic development and prosperity? If we don't pay attention to design details, the whole area goes to pot. Look what's happened on North Temple, that we're now spending millions of dollars to try and fix. Soren may ask for a lot, but he's asking for the right things.

I'm sticking with Soren!

Phil Carroll is the right person for District 3 and the city at large. He has 30 years of in-depth experience on issues affecting the district: improving traffic congestion, the Memory Grove clean up, the monster home ordinance among others. He treats all people with respect, including those who oppose him. He is fair. He supports the mayor's anti-discrimination ordinance. These are some of the reasons for which I support Phil.

Vote for Stan Penfold!

His opponenet Phil Carroll played the "gay" card last week"

Per the other SLC daily paper 10/25/2009:

"Raising a family makes a difference in how you perceive what the problems are."

Carroll is a candidate in one the Utah's most liberal districts. This was a cheap shop and was noticed by the people in the district.

In keeping with a longstanding Deseret News policy of not publishing stories the day before or the day of the election, no comments will be posted on election stories Monday or Tuesday. The rationale for this policy being applied to comments is to prevent the last-minute dissemination of untrue allegations against a candidate that could influence voters.
