It's good to hear from Laura Bush. She is quite a lady.

She and her husband have retired quietly--a good example to other former presidents who seem to never go away but should--especially when they spend their time traveling to other countries to declare that America is the problem.

Sorry, I should stay on topic. The library sounds beautiful. I'll try to make it over there sometime.

To me this again is an example of the difference the University of Utah is from Brigham Young University.

Laura Bush speaks at the U. She is graceful and classy. The administration and student body support this. The event goes as planned and is well attended.

On the contrary, the Board of Trustees at BYU select Richard Cheney to speak at a commencement and then their own administration and faculty use the campus to stage a formal protest to the Vice President of the United States.

The University of Utah displays the highest standards, ethics, and values of any academic institution in North America.

It seems like only in Utah that you find these kinds of uplifting stories.

Safe place for a Bush to appear, Utah. No questions. No wondering. No thinking.

I will take Carter and his work any day of the week over the bushes. Class act Carter. And Bill Clinton continues to serve his country.

Cheney? He is off somewhere killing something.

A Bush @ a library?

Its would have to be Laura or shubbery out front.

p.s. Republican promoting literacy?? That is news.

Sad, Sad liberal.

Thank-you Mrs. Bush. America still appreciates your dedication and service.

Laura Bush is a classy and dignified lady.
Former Vice President Richard Cheney is also a very talented, intelligent gentleman.

This does not show any difference between the U of U and BYU. The administration at BYU did not protest against Vice President Cheney. It was a few misguided liberal students who spent too much time watching MSNBC who protested. The vast majority of students and faculty at BYU welcomed the Vice President with open arms as they should have.

It would seem that the liberal commenters never miss an opportunity to bash a Bush or a conservative.

Your funny!! Please tell me your statement was a joke. Talk about no thinking. Liberals are the biggest bunch of sheep I have ever seen. A good example is Demi Moore pledging to be Obama's servant. She doesn't want freedom or to think for herself. She wants a dictator to tell her what to do. Typical lib mentality. You only need to add Al Gore to your heros Carter and Clinton and you have the three stooges.

The pettiness of some politicaaly-oriented people nevers ceases to amaze me. Small people, small thoughts.

Come on folks, this article is all about the expansion and rededication of a great library. Leave the totally off-subject political pontificating in your hip pocket. It time for you politicos to "Get a life!"

Bunch of liberal socialists. We should privatize libraries. Free market could do a much better job.

Ahhh, a breath of fresh air to see an "honorable first lady" for a change. No $800 gym shoes, no stupid comments of how she isn't proud of America, no Saturday Night Live star, no sleeveless dresses... just a dignified woman who represented her role as first lady with class for 8 years.

You are right 'breath of fresh air.' This library is amazing.

It will be nice if the first lady Miss Obama can be invited to Utah too. Don't you agree with me?
