Nice! Where do I get one?
Too bad money is more important to these people than their membership in the church.
you ca have mine
lol
Do I forsee another Bishop's Court in the near future?
Most Mormon's are stuffy and judgemental. If half the families in my neighborhood only knew what their perfect mormon children did behind their backs......
Let them publish companion calendars on Black, Hassidic, and Amish women and see how they are received by their respective communities.
If it's modest, great.
If it's not, the Lord will be disappointed.
Since it's coming from the same guy that was excommunicated let's just say I'm not exactly holding my breath.....
Momons are stuffy... Good grief. Who cares.
Most Caseys I know are stuffy and judgmental. They resort to generalizations and stereotypes.
He had his diploma taken back, revoked, or some such? Is that even possible for something other than cheating?
If he did the course work and passed, how can they take the diploma away? Just the piece of paper or did they revoke his degree?
Absurd.
Casey sounds a bit stuffy and judgemental.
Casey, what dreamland are you living in if you think any parents think their children are perfect? Most kids also would be very disappointed to know that their parents know exactly what kind of things they do.
Governor Huntsman is a great example of an LDS kid who got very very off track by age 17. Thankfully his father never gave up on him, and helped him turn his life around and choose a better path.
Hey Casey....who cares.
Anon,
it's not "the church", it's a church
but thanks for showing your bias
Not good.
I suspect this will lead to more excommunications.
Not for the pictures themselves but because the womens' willingness to closely associate with someone who has voluntarily removed themselves from the Church in a questionable activity will lead them on from one bad decision to another.
There will be contention, sadness and hurt in some of their futures and testimonies will be questioned and some, I fear, will choose to leave the Church. Not to mention what happens to their children when this occurs.
Not good.
We are latter-day saints, valiant sons and daughters of God who eagerly await the Second Coming of the Savior, not just a group of people "like everyone else".
If you want to be like everyone else in every way, have your name removed from the records of the Church.
Christ wants warriors and heroes. Leaders. Do-ers. People with a plan, a HOLY plan. Not weaklings who will follow the latest fashion or whim at the drop of a hat.
how do you keep a mormon from drinking all your beer on a river trip? invite another mormon.
seriously, even if the kids do x behind the back of the parents, the culture states that the kids are perfect blonde angels, which is why the kids have to do things covertly in the first place. stereotypes are there for a reason - it's like the laws of nature - things are or are not based on a set of rules that /generally/ apply but there are always exceptions. YOUR kid probably is perfect, but the others also try to APPEAR as such to keep with the image. utah valley is so much about keeping up appearances that it's disgusting.
besides that, if we can't laugh at ourselves and our kooky faux-conservative culture, then we've got nothing. i, for one, want a calendar. (why didn't they post a pic / ordering info?)
Everyone has their own opinions.
If this calendar is like the other one - immodest and a mockery - let's just say it's their souls on the line, and yours if you buy it.
["Too bad money is more important to these people than their membership in the church."]
Too bad your church doesn't have a sense of humor.
And kicking people out for something like this is very unChristlike. so it really speaks more about your church than it does about "these people".
["Let them publish companion calendars on Black, Hassidic, and Amish women and see how they are received by their respective communities."]
they would see the humor and laugh, and then buy a calendar. (except the Amish - they would laugh but probably not buy a calendar.)
mormons are the MOST stuffy of all religions.
["If it's modest, great. If it's not, the Lord will be disappointed"]
how do you know? it never ceases to amaze me that you all think God is stuffy. He's NOT!! Take a look around. You really think God doesn't have a sense of humor? jeez - of all people, mormons should realize God is funny and has a great sense of humor!! You believe your religion and your book of mormon. If it's true, don't you think God got a kick out of making Joseph Smith use a seer stone and a tophat to translate the BOM? How can you possibly say God doesn't have a sense of humor or that He'd be "disappointed" with these calendars? I think He's cracking up as we speak.
