In Missouri, there's a law that apply to this situation. If convicted, your license will be permanently taken away and a fine of 10,000 dollars! We need something like that in Utah!

dj

thanks indeed to the man who followed him!

Many states have the work zone penalty of $10,000 fine, permanate revokation of driver privileges, and 10 t0 15 years in prison. Come on Utah law makers, lets make some decent laws that help protect the innocent.

Hit and Run should have a greater penalty than whatever crime the perp might be running away from. This guy should definitely be facing some major prison time. If nothing else, the family should take every penny this guy has (although he probably is spending it as fast as he can make it in the oil fields).

I wonder if they can still get him for DUI.... i doubt it but to the family... The sun will shine bright and the flowers will still grow.... I am very sorry for you loss.

I feel sorry for the family that lost their loved one......and I'm not sorry to the idiot that didn't care to stop. ALOT of drivers do speed more than the 35 mph or the 55 mph speed limits in the construction zones...even some of the officers will speed, (when they don't have their lights flashing). I believe every construction zones should be monitored for high speeders....if your're in a hurry, leave 30 minutes early.

Even the death penalty wouldn't be enough in this case so to say that he should have his driving privileges taken away for life and a $10,000.00 fine is an insult. Brayden was my cousin and we will never get to hug him again, see him at family functions or laugh at his funny stories. I never knew that it was possible for any human to be so heartless or cowardly, if justice is not served while he is here on earth, it most definitely will be served afterward, in the place he belongs; hell.

This man is a good father... All I can say is don't be quick to judge. Most all of us have had instances behind the wheel that could have turned into a tragedy

There are two families whose lives have been destroyed. It’s so unfortunate for both families. My heart truly goes out to both families who are left to pick up the pieces. Without any of us knowing the whole story, how could anyone possibly judge another? “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone…”

HeartBroken

And all I can say is... his kids will still be able to see and speak to him when he is behind bars, our family doesn't have that. I could care less what kind of father he is...

HeartBroken

The whole thing might be different, had he not ran. Our family might be more forgiving, had he not ran. When "most all of us have had instances behind the wheel" most of us, good people, would have stayed and owned up to what we had done.

Brayden was one of the greatest, most genuine people I've met. He always came through and he always had high spirits. Mr. Brinkman deserves to rot in jail for taking Brayden's life.

Anonymous;
It doesn't matter how good of a father you think this guy is the fact is if he was a good father he would not have fled and would have showed some kind of remorse instead of just acting like he did nothing wrong what if someone had done this to his child my nephew will NEVER know the joy of finding true love or being a father

BA

My heart goes out to both families. This will not only affect one family. For the family who lost a son, brother, and much more. To the family who will lose a husband and a dad. What kind of life do you have when your looking at your husband or father through bars while another is trying to sue you for every penny you own? What kind of life is it when you out live your child and they die in such a situation? I couldnt imagine how hard for either family. Dont ever ever forget, but FORGIVE. Im sorry for your loss.
