The bravery these men and women display is incredible, to say the least. These men gave their lives to protect our very way of life. Never forget that. God speed to you. Your ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten or taken for granted.

We are free because of brave young men like this.

I wish that our current administration would heed the generals call for help and send more troops.

RIP Soldier. Thank you for your sacrifice and service. Also thank you to his family and neighbors that supported him. it's good to hear the support from the community back home. It is never easy seeing a fallen brother, but it is nice to see the support that is there when it does happen. God bless his family and friends.

As a former solider, I cannot express my sympathy and frustration at the needless loss of another, honorable, life.

People will continue to die in Afghanistan until one of two things happen.

1) We find a justifiable reason to be there. or 2) We give this country back to the people who live there.

Thank you for making the supreme sacrifice to defend my country. God bless his family at this time. This paratrooper will never forget

Thank you for your sacrifice. I would like to share the word's of Abraham Lincoln with you who wrote a mother who had just lost a son in the Civil War:

"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to protect. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

Yours very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Thank you. Your son will never be forgotten. I would like to second the words of Abraham Lincoln that "Princeton Graduate 4:25 p.m." quoted, "I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

Thank you for your bravery and the sacrifices you have given to me, my family and country. This does not go out to just PFC Han, but his entire family as well. Again thank you all for making my family, and the families of every American and peace loving human in this world, sleep a little bit easier at night.

It would have been more appropriate if you had just expressed your sympathy and appreciation to this young man and his family. Not the time to make a political statement.

Your statement: As a former solider, I cannot express my sympathy and frustration at the needless loss of another, honorable, life.

Are you sure you cannot just express your sympathy?

As a mother of a son who was injured in Iraq and on his way to Afghanistan, I can attest that admonishing him to stay safe is a loving way of saying, "We'd like you to come back." We know that anything can happen and this man's death in this article was something that he had no control over. May his family be blessed in knowing that he did his best and that we all are praying for the righteous influence of our troops to make a difference over there. May God bless you in your time of grief.

PFC Han understood, as any true Patriot understands, if we fail to oppose tyranny, where ever it rears it’s ugly, we will have to oppose it on our own soil. This was true during the Vietnam War, and it will always be true. If Patriots, like PFC Han, did not stand up, for America, we would have a repeat of 9/11 in your home town. We need more Patriots, to stand up, where such a great burden wouldn’t have to be placed on so few. Death comes to all that live and the best we can hope o do is to die with honor. PFC Han earned a promotion to Patriot Han. United States Army 1965 to 1968.

The tree of freedom must be watered with the blood of patriots from time to time. T. Jefferson. PFC Han's blood indeed will make this world a better place to live. Condolences to his family. Your son died great. Maj. Scott Cheever, USAR

Kabulman | 3:25 a.m. Oct. 27, 2009
As a firsthand observer to the bravery and noble service of US soldiers and their Afghan brothers in arms, I salute this brave man, PFC Han, and extend my heartfelt condolences to his wife, parents, and children. Be assured that he did not die in vain. The Taliban focus their deadly efforts on killing the most skilled and needed. Private Han's mine detection and removal assignment was and is as important as any work being accomplished in Afghanistan. I currently reside in Kabul--and the people here desparately want to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness just as much as we Americans. Make no mistake, the Taliban are merciless killers who have no historic base in Afghanistan. A Talib will still kill a woman for simply standing up for basic human rights and defying the tyranny he wants to impose. Patriot Han's sacrifice brings closer the time when Afghan women will be able to attend school without being beaten or murdered, vote without having their fingers cut off, engage in commerce without being shot or bombed, and raise their children without fear of retribution.

I said the same words to my son the last time I saw him..."Be safe". My heart aches that you have to endure this pain. You have a big support system and we are here for you and your family forever.

Blessings on your family as you cope with the loss of a special son. Nothing will ever replace him, but the memories of his service and contributions will always be there. May you always have Heavenly Father's comfort.

God bless this, and all wonderful young men who serve our nation with everything they have to give. And bless and comfort the families which have lost part of themselves.
God grant our president the gumption to either SEND IMMEDIATELY everything to these combat zones that could possibly protect and preserve these brave young men in war zones! OR bring them HOME IMMEDIATELY!

As both the daughter and wife of combat veterans, and the mother of a new Soldier - I thank you for your contribution in keeping our country safe. Each night my young daughter thanks her Father in Heaven that "we live in a free country." That blessing of a free country is a direct result of generations of fearless men and women like Kimball who were willing to sacrifice whatever was needed - even their life if need be. I recognize, as does all my family and thousands more, his great and selfless deed. I will never forget Kimball's priceless gift to us.
