I don't agree with the way he went after the boys who vandalized his car, but I think probation in this case would have been fair. What about the inconsiderate kids who vandalized his car--they should (or the parents since they are minors)be financially responsible for the damages they caused to his car, plus do some community service, perhaps cleaning up graffiti.
This seems like a bizarre case and I don't think the punishment fits the crime. The real crime is this young man enforcing punishment on the kids/parents. Seems like these kids are also out of control and maybe the parents should spend 1-15 years in prison for the behavior of there kids.
I really think he should have been sentenced only probation.
Whats even worse is you get a guy like Mitchel (kidnapped and raped Elizabeth Smart) and he may never get sentenced!!!
I agree 100%. They should have to work off the amount the parents have to, and be supervised by a juvenile authority to ensure compliance.
Did the boys vandalize his car? That was never established by the report.
He is in the country illegally and yet they are going to put him in prison for 15 years at the cost of taxpayers. There is something a little off about this case...
If those kids indeed vandalized his car, then they should have made restitution. Had they not vandalized the car, then nothing would have happened and this guy wouldn't be going to jail. If he's illegal, just deport him.
Kidnapping and attempted extortion are very serious crimes. A prison sentence of 15 years is appropriate in this case.
You have to understand, especially you lovers and exploiters of illegal immigration from Mexico--this is the ignorant way people from that culture think. You solve a problem by kidnapping, extortioin, or some other absurd way. Why do they believe these things? Because they come from Mexico, for example. Just look at the place and the way it's run. Why complicate these questions when the answers are right in front of your noses. Don't let liberals confuse you with their excuses and convoluted reasoning as to why we need open borders.
They should have made it 25 years. Five for the kidnapping and 20 for being in the U.S. illegally.
