Great Season

A state title is a rare possession for any school and something worthy to chase each season. It's something only one team will lay claim to each year with every other school only wishing it was them. Kearns High school has managed two of them in 1972 and 1989 with the last one being 20 years ago this year.

Want to thank this years courageous Cougars and coaches for giving it all and representing their school and community with class. They fell just short of their goal of reaching post season, but provided many spectacular thrills to their fans.

Cosper has brought a winning attitude and respect to the program and it's felt that each year they are going to compete and make some noise. I watched this group meet all summer long when everyone else was enjoying the crazy days of summer. Their collective effort did not go unnoticed by this fan.

Great job Cougars!

Go WJ

Great job Jaguars!!! Let's pull some upsets in the playoffs

1972 Team

For all the old timers who might remember a few of those players that defeated Gifford Nielsen and his Provo Bulldogs for the 3A State Title in 1972.

Scott (Leo) Richards
Dave Pearce (Dustin Pearce's (Hunter High) father
Dean Bona
Neil Carsey
Frank Klekas (Head Coach)

Just to name a few.

Go Jags!

Great job Jaguars! Way to play to potential. Go and show everyone why you are the hardest working team in the state.

Thank You Olympus

I wasn't sure about this new spread offense at first. However now I am a BELIEVER! What a difference it makes when your team has a big time EXPLOSIVE offense.

I follow high school football and noticed that Olympus has really struggled with their offense. The only reason I bring this up is because our new OC was the coach at Olympus last year. Why in the world would you not want this offense at your school. (Their loss our gain!)

Coach Morgan thank you for taking a chance and bringing in Coach Smith and his spread offense.

From what I have seen over the past two weeks is that we are peaking and playing great football right now!

Next goal TURF!

This year has been a blast to watch!

Go Jags

Nice job West Jordan, good luck in the playoffs.
Now let's get the right OC for the Kearns team so we have a chance next year!!!!!!

Hold the phone

Congrats on being in the playoffs WJ, but you just beat Kearns, think about it, who didn't blow out Kearns? The Jags have shown they can beat the cream puffs but If you win in the playoffs then you can start tootin' your own horn.

re:thank you olympus

Peaking?! Look who you have played in the past 2 weeks. Your team is one and done - can't beat anyone with any athletic ability. The good ones go to BHS, the ones that can't compete go to WJHS or CHHS. That's the way it is and will always be.

Congratulations to Coach Morgan and his players.
Congratulations to Coach Cosper. Both men have had a dramatic impact on their respective programs.
The parents, students, and alumni should be proud of both of these teams and the manner in which they play the game and represent their communities.

Hello?

WJ you beat Kears? Wow, get pumped up for the playoffs, because when you get there you will be one and done. But great job making it there!

No, thank you West Jordan.

Keep it Up Jags

Great job on getting to the playoffs, Now just keep it up and roll right on to Rice Eccles. Its been so much fun watching you play and grow as a team. With all the talented juniors and sophomores on the roster next season will be even better. Go Jags.

Crazy

The WR for WJ set a state record of 90 receptions in a year. That is probably the same amount of receptions for all WR's at WJ for the full seasons of 1999-2004. (okay maybe not but pretty darn close, but ya get my point)

Re: Keep it Up Jags

I agree...WJ looked great! They are a great team, but, they have to most likely play Lone Peak and if not Lone Peak than PG...that will be tough. I will be really surprised if they make it out of the first round, but it will be interesting. Any team can be any team on any given day.

Nice win

Now you get a chance to get blown out by either Lone Peak or PG... again!

After watching Boelter last night, I don't know of a more accurate passer in the state right now. Almost every throw was a strike, there were some drops by the WR but overall the passing attack was outstanding. I would like to see them up against a team with a good secondary but Boelter threw in some pretty tight windows and was pretty accurate. If only he was taller.

To CJ

90 receptions in a season is a great accomplishment...high school, college, or pros. Good luck in the playoffs. Coach C.

Boelter

Good player that made a great move in not going to Bingham. I would have never made it there. Go to WJ where he can be a star.

re: Hello?

Yaa we beet kears!... Way to spell genius.

I know alot of the childish comments I see on this page are from Bingham fans, and it disappoints me. I know several Bingham players and they don't seem like the type to write this garbage. Yes you are a good team, and I am proud to count many of your parents as my friends, but it is too bad some of you are lacking in the sportsmanship that I know Coach Peck requires of his players.
