Tough game for Wasatch tonight...hopefully the team can regroup and have a strong showing in the state playoffs. Give credit to Park City for having a great team and taking advantage of big opportunities. Despite the miscues on the Wasatch side (which made the score even more lopsided) PC is legit and deserves the respect from other 3A foes.
PC Fan | 12:06 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Wow. Another impressive performance on both sides of the ball for the Miners. Hats off to the Wasp QB, Davis, who played his heart out in that first half under constant pressure. Didnt see him in the 2nd half... wishing him the best if he was injured. Proud of those Miner boys and am looking forward to what the month of November will bring for Park City Football. Keep this train rolling!

Great game | 12:16 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
number 2 for Park City is a beast. He is easily one of the best backs in Utah.
How you like them apples? | 1:42 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Umm yeah, could any of those people that were saying in the preseason that Park City's offense wasn't good enough please come on here and let us know if you still think the same thing.

Please. Pretty please.
Easy PC | 7:01 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
ENjoy the win, but stop calling out the naysayers.. No one was saying you couldn't win a region championship.. They were saying you can't put it together in the playoffs..

So keep rolling and playing well. Win a championship.. Then you can come call people out.

Love your offense. Good luck in state!

Yeah a wopping 14 points against Juan Diego, pretty impressive.
To Anonymous.. | 8:39 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Juan Diego scored a whopping 3 pts in their one loss? pretty impressive!
RE: How you like them apples? | 8:53 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
PC has been impressive during the regular season for the past 4 years and then they lay a freaking egg in the playoffs. I agree with "Easy PC", they look great right now...but, let's see if they can get through the pressure of the playoff flop that they are famous for. This is the year to do it. I think they one of the best in the state when it comes to a solid offensive attack.
I still think their DBs are unproven but I haven't seen a 3A team that can throw an effective deep ball...
Anonymous | 9:14 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
and an impressive 31 against PC.
Heres how it is! | 10:05 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Region 10 only had 1 really good team in it this year "PC" 1 average team "Wasatch" and the rest were way below average. The record PC and Wasatch post are Nothing to be proud about they didn't play any teams that really helped them. Wasatch will more than likely lose in the first round in the playoffs and PC will make it to the semis but PC doesn't have the team to win State. Wasatch proved last night that even a average team can keep PC under control for a quarter or 2 but the average can't keep up with their size and speed. Juan Diego, Hurricane and possibly Morgan will both handle PC, I am guessing the win Wasatch had over Morgan was a fluke and played again it would have a different outcome! So with that said I predict JD and Morgan playing for State this year, and thats just because I haven't seen Hurricane but I am assuming they will be prepared after playing the southern teams 3A and 4A. Personelly I would like to see Public School systems playing for the title so someone please beat JD.
Here's how it is? | 10:42 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Park City was leading Juan Diego 14-10 going into the fourth quarter when they played. Hurricane will be tough but Park City will win in a close one. Morgan played Park City two weeks ago if you knew what you were talking about. I believe the score was 49-7. Do you still think Morgan will play for the title?
morgan not a fluke | 10:47 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
The morgan win for wasatch was not a fluke they controlled the game from start to finish. They are good and were beat by a good team.
Watch Out!!!!! | 11:32 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Hurricane will be the only be the Team that is not from Region 11 to make it to Rice. It has been proven year in and year out that Region 11 Rules when it come down to it. PC has a hard time beating anyone in the Playoffs. My oppinion is Wasatch will go farther in the Playoffs than PC.
Region 11? | 12:15 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Seriously Watch Out.. you think the 4th seed out of Region 11 is going to the semis. Your credibility is shot with that lame assessment right there. And you are right, PC has a hard time beating anyone in the playoffs (sic)... let me educate you..

In the last 8 Years, PC has lost in the 1st Round TWICE, Wasatch has been knocked out in the 1st Round FOUR TIMES (thats 50% of the time). Breakdown...

2008 PC (Semis), W (1st Rnd)
2007 PC (1st to Logan), W (Semis to Logan)
2006 PC (1st), W (1st)
2005 PC (did not qualify), W (Q-Finals)
2004 PC (Q-Finals), W (Q-Finals)
2003 PC (Q-Finals), W (1st)
2002 PC (Q-Finals), W (Finals)
2001 PC (Semis), W (1st)

In fact PC will blast either Bear River or JM in the 2nd Round just to get to Hurricane at RE.
Anonymous | 12:52 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
I believe that both PC and Wasatch will both make it past the first and possibly second rounds and make it rice only to be disappointed at the end.
Morgan | 2:00 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
The only reason I think they will play for the title is because PC will get eliminated before they see them, duh. You guys over there in Summit County don't think things throug.
FB Fan | 2:37 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Blah, blah , blah...the only team to take down JD this year was the top 5A team in ID playing on their home field up in ID.No excuses, Highland, ID has a very good team. Prediction- JD and Hurricane in the State game again. Hurricane will beat PC in the other side of the playoff bracket. JD beat PC last year in the playoffs with ease and handled them again again on their home field in PC this year...with a backup QB for JD. I love the 14-10 leading at start of 4th quarter remarks...whatever gives you hope...try and hang on to it!!

PC Fan | 2:43 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Frustrating to win all these games by such a large margine. It's been a great year but don't believe a State Championship is in our future this year. It's sad but true.
its time | 2:43 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
looks like its time to just hand the state trophy over to PC, gee there so good.
Tigers | 2:45 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
The Tigers will crush the classless Miners in the Playoffs, keep talking PC.
FB Fan | 2:50 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
And another thing...JD played 3 5A teams and 1 4A. team, and beat PC at their home field.
PC, as usual, played all 3A teams, surprised they didn't schedule some 2A and 1A teams. That way they could keep running up those 60-0 scores that look so good on paper and feeds their enormous egos. PC's non-region schedule holds as much weight as Boise State's non-conf schedule and beggin to get to the BCS party. JD's, on the other hand, looks like Alabama's or Texas's. Book closed, case closed.
game observer | 3:05 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
I was really impressed by the way #6 for park city covered 81. 81 was covered all night and he only let a few passes get to him which was huge because no one has covered him all year! 81 Runs crisp routes and has pretty good speed. Besides the second quarter defensively the miners shut them down. Park city coaches really seemed like they worked hard to get these guys prepared on routes and coverages.
Go Miners!
Anonymous | 3:09 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
I'm not a pc follower but it always seems like these people say there gonna stop park city's rushing attack but they never can. they have rolled over morgan and wasatch. Both of them are ranked in the top 5 in state and the games werent even close. Yes we know park city hasn't done well in the playoffs but i think this year its different with chynoweth, walker, cashel, thorne, proctor, christensen who are all very athletic and fast
JD | 3:51 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Shouldn't even be in 3A. It is like BYU or Utah playing in the Big Sky. Private schools should have to play up a division because they are mini junior colleges. It's not sour grapes, it's the facts and all of JD's state titles will have an * beside them until the rules change.
#6 | 4:04 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Nice post Dad! We arn't fooled. Shameless plug for your son.
Park City...be careful | 4:11 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Be careful what you wish for, Miners!

Juan Diego and Hurricane are both better teams than Park City. Check out the bracket...Park City would meet Hurricane in the semis if they both advance.

Last year, PC traveled south to Hurricane during the regular season. Result? Tigers won, 31-0.

Not enough? Park City barely got past Cedar last year in the quarters and got pummeled by JD the next round.

Wasatch was good, but over-rated. Park City is good, but we'll see how they do against tougher competition.
re: Here's how... | 4:16 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
I agree that Juan Diego and Hurricane may be better and could beat Park City...but they would be good games.

But Morgan?! No...Park City beat Morgan 48-7 a few weeks ago. Morgan is not the same Trojan team of years past.
re: Watch Out | 4:25 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
Region 11? Please!! Look at the brackets.

Juan Diego, Hurricane, and Park City will likely advance to the semifinals.

The Region 12 team will lose to Wasatch as no Region 12 team is very good...maybe Delta could pull it out if they get the #2 seed. That bracket has Reg 11 #4 seed (Judge) in it. Wasatch beat Judge 34-17 earlier this season.

Check out the brackets first...are you seriously suggesting that Hurricane, Park City, or Juan Diego will lose to some Region 11 team?

Congratulations Grantsville for beating Ben Lomond and making State. See you next week on the Wasatch Back!

I've watched PC's #2 run wild all year with speed. Against Wasatch he was brutal breaking tackles. It takes a village to take him down.
PC Alum | 1:00 p.m. Oct. 24, 2009

PC Miners are due - let's bring the hardware back to the land of Dozier.
Wow | 3:57 p.m. Oct. 24, 2009
Ripped Morgan to pieces, demolished Wasatch. Go Miner's go. This is the year! Can't wait to see the games at the U Stadium.
RE: Game observer | 9:51 a.m. Oct. 25, 2009
i have never heard of a corner "shutting down" a reciever when the reciever had 110 yards recieving and 2 TDS. wasatch qb went out at the half with and injury its a defferent ball game if he is in the game coming out of the half and they score.
3A semis | 9:56 a.m. Oct. 25, 2009
there are about 5 good teams in 3A after that the competition drops. the semis at rices should be JD Vs. Wasatch Park City Vs. Hurricane ( maybe i saw hurricane lose to deseret hills and they looked very unipressive) it should be a fun playoff in 3A. anything can happen at rice
Anonymous | 10:01 a.m. Oct. 25, 2009
molinaro, walker, thorne, are great d backs
game observer, get it right | 12:02 p.m. Oct. 25, 2009
the park city reciever had 110 yards on 2 catches and 2 touchdowns, not the recievers for wasatch!!!!! park city d backs let little yards for wasatch besides the opening drive, and if payton davis did stay in the defense would have broken his leg or something worse, that was park citys game plan was to get that skinny, trash talking kid out of the game... nice jon payton, u really showed what you were made of hahaha, shouldnt have talked so much and u might have been playing a little more, along with 77 and all the others that got a shoe in the mouth when city came into HEBER and should all u farmers whos taking state, stop talking when u know u cant back it up
pc fan | 12:22 p.m. Oct. 25, 2009
stop the trash talk. PC has transformed into a whole new team after the 4th quarter loss to JD. Good luck Hurricane see you soon enough
hahaha | 9:22 a.m. Oct. 26, 2009
There are like no farmers in Heber haha maybe a few but its all just normal kids I dont know where you get the whole farmer thing from
PC? | 8:15 p.m. Oct. 26, 2009
PC's a new team. they've transformed from what they were after the Juan Diego lose. We've destroyed good teams like manti and delta and we beat very good teams like wasatch and morgan by even more. stop saying we havn't played anyone.
