Good Job G.V.B - so Who was the first owner? I wish we has more banks that did one on one stuff like Gunnison Valley Bank.

Facts from your article about the Gunnison Valley Bank are incorrect. I think you should check your information before publishing. For starters, Steven Buchanan never graduated from BYU, feel free to check the school records.

Why do these boards always spout hate? I'm sure the diploma in his office is a complete forgery.

I'm sure you are someone who didn't pay your loan back and are bitter the bank took something back. That's no one's fault but your own.

For goodness sake, let the bank enjoy its day, heaven knows its not a good time for any bank.

Also "check school records?" Um, BYU graduates have the option to make there information private, (which I'm sure you didn't know since you clearly never went there) so maybe that's why his name didn't come up in your little "search?"

One last question, do you verify everyone's graduation info who's name runs in this paper? If so, that's a pretty sad thing.
Creditable Journalism? | 8:21 a.m. Oct. 26, 2009
Readers missed the point entirely, the articles facts were incorrect, that just being the first one that was incorrect. There are many others in the same article that are wrong or misleading. A bank today that still types their loans on a typewriter, come on now really! Just wondered where the paper did get their information and do they just print any and everything someone tells them to make an article sound good? Is that good journalism?

Pretty sure no diploma in the office on the wall!

When you live in a small town like Gunnison you know pretty much everything about everyone. The ENTIRE TOWN knows that Steven does not have a degree from BYU. So comment laughable maybe the jokes on you because I'm sure whoever posted the comment about his diploma from BYU knows him personally and did not even need to do any type of "search" as you suggest. The PROBELM with the article is that it completely missed the real reasons why GUNNISON VALLEY BANK IS SO GREAT, and those reason have nothing to do with typewritters, pastures, or cows. It's how they treat their customers and the personal relationships they develop with them that really set GVB apart from other Big City banks.
