even if we don't get in I would take a 6-0 drubbing of Colorado any day.

I appreciated Lloyd Christmas' comments on a previous article so much, I'll drop this name in appreciation.

Finally knocking off NY last week was a relief and, quite honestly, a burst of hope that had died earlier this season. I am one of ReAL's long-time loyal supporters, but saw them sealing their fate during games like Houston and Dallas on the road. I became that guy...the skeptic and cynic. But seeing them put 2 together against the wretched Red Bulls indeed brought some life back into the mix.

If there was ever a time to string two more up, it is NOW! Colorado has been in poor form as of late and we can capitalize on this match. We need a two goal lead to set ourselves up as nicely as possible, hoping for the best from a slew of other teams. In the end...our chances are about 1 in a million...so you're telling me there's a chance!

Go RSL!!!

RSL will never be a contender in this league as long as Kries is in charge. It gets old with him telling the press after another loss how he was pleased with effort, effort doesn't win games at this level.
Mathis was decent at the start of the season but his form has fallen off in recent weeks and he should not be starting for any team in the MLS.
Checketts needs to get a coach in with some experience.

I absolutely agree with the previous comment. I am fed up with Kreis's acceptance of mediocrity. I asked him personally what he is doing as a coach to instill the desire in his players to fight for a win every game (like Will Johnson, Andy Williams do)- he feels that everyone is doing their best. Obviously he is not watching the same team the rest of us are!!!

it's a very good thing spirits are up. The disappoint of the season needs to be addressed, but right it should simply be used for fuel to win against Colorado and hope for the best. When the season is officially over then the other problems will be addressed.

Bottom line RSL must beat Colorado and then we need all the other home teams to win. GO RSL! Thump the waterboys!

maybe a Jerry Sloan trade for jason Kreis is the answer

hee hee

want RSL to beat C.Rapids. If they do that, they are winners in my book. I'll be back next season with all of my 6 front row season tickets.

I love RSL!

Playoffs? who cares! Just win on Saturday baby!

If we don't make the playoffs I truely believe it will encourage the RSL organization to get us that quality striker we all asked for. The playoffs last year only made us think we were good. We are good, we just need 1 better striker, and missing the playoffs will surely get us that striker.

Kreis needs to go. How much longer do we have to put up with his excuses? Checketts doesn't understand soccer enough to get that Kreis simply cannot coach. He took one of the best teams on paper for 2 years and makes a hash out of it. Fire Kreis!

There is a 100% chance that soccer is the most boring game in the world!
Re: unbeatable odds | 8:17 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
And yet the most boring game in the world excited you enough to click on the article and make a comment about it. I have NEVER seen an American football game and have never EVER, not even once, commented about a football article.

By the way, perhaps we should hold a worldwide vote as to which is the most exciting sport. What do you think? Remember, EACH World Cup qualifying match played by Brazil has reached a worldwide television audience twice as large as the biggest Superbowl audience. I spent less than 30 seconds searching online to find the stats. Go ahead...look it up. It won't be the last soccer article you read or comment on! Ha!

World's Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What really gets me is the lack of soccer knowledge and sophistication among so many RSL fans who undermine the team by criticising Kreis - what they call accepting mediocrity is man management and avoiding alienating the players he has to work with and motivate.

Coaching, team-picking and calling substitutions is a fine art which takes years to master and Kreis is the perfect partner for RSL at this time.

He is committed to the team, he is learning with the team and they are of similar stature - meaning the power structures at the club are more balanced than would be the case if a more dominant figurehead was in the hot seat.

The fluid nature of the game means soccer has a more organic nature and everybody - fans, players, staff - must all grow together to work best.

RSL has made the drawn out transition from a functional stadium to a real home, now they are making the transition from a functional team to a real team.

But transitions are painful.

RSL still needs some Utahns (maybe acquire Justin Braun) to give them some soul, but I think the team is on the right track.

agree. I would give Kreis one more year, he is deserving but if things are not better next year then I would actively pursue a new coach.

This guys knows MLS look when he Galaxy went outside and got Guiltt and what a mistake that turned out to be.

Besides, we will make the playoffs and if that happens despite a trying year it is really hard to go off on Jason. he has tried to be flexible hopefully like our friend SLown will be this year.
Second Chance? | 3:48 p.m. Oct. 24, 2009
Hey Kreis,

Don't you think this game is more like your 5th or 6th chance to have made the playoffs in the past 5 or 6 games?

Time for Kreis to go
