This is the best story I have read today. Congats to both schools and players for doing the right thing. Class act on both sides.
As an employee at Cyprus and the Grandson of a survivor I would like to thank the student body officers at Cyprus as well, they were not mentioned in the article but did a wonderful job selling t-shirts, wrist bands, and raffle tickets at our school. What a great thing for both of these schools to be involved with, heres to hoping that more schools will follow this example.
Congratulations to both Cottonwood and Cyprus, their student bodies, SBOs, Cheerleaders and football teams and parents! It's wonderful to see young people put their ideas and words into action; something at which we all need to do better. A big thank you to Saint Mark's Hospital as well for donating the sweat shirts. In these times of health care debate when the insurers and for-profit health providers are demonized in the press and by our national leaders as the root cause of all our health care woes, it's nice to see that the main for-profit health provider in Utah is the one to donated the sweat shirts. One question, where was the tax-exempt, not-for-profit health care provider (IHC) in all of this? I guess they're just the ones on the sidelines who will benefit, as usual, from much of what happened last night and the money raised. THANKS AGAIN COTTONWOOD AND CYPRUS--WAY TO GO!!
I have never been so proud of two schools as I was last night. There was a good feeling there. Thanks to the Abertons for allowing us to participate in this kind of activity. Thanks to Cyprus for their partcipation. It would not have been the same with out you. It was a special "senior night" for our boys to be a part of. Congratulations to anyone and who has survived this nasty disease. Our prayers are with all who may currently be dealing with it.
nice work CW, we've seen some Ute Conf kids wearing pink this week and it's good to bring the awareness to everyone like that.
Good luck v. Viewmont.
