I'm glad they're suing. Maybe they should win, maybe they shouldn't, but the courts should decide the issue rather than UDOT.

Last time I checked, the First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech but it does not stipulate that you wont be charged a fee for it. Nor does "free speech" mean you can say anything you want. Numerous Supreme Court rulings have identified that there are limitations.

This group wants to stage a protest event and a permit is required. To me it seems that they simply need to obtain the proper permits and then they can protest. If not, then they should find a different location.
