I wish the church or anything related to the church would not move in this direction. The world is becoming scary enough, and it's no longer innocent.

That is tacky. Just plain tacky. Might as well convert it to "Moroni World" while they are at it.

Halloween is a pagan holiday. I think it brings out tooo much evil. Why dress up in evil costumes and beg for candy.
Makes no sense! Please don't come begging at my door because I will turn my sprinklers on you.

Re: "wildly popular, especially with the locals."

In other words, the students at BYU Hawaii.

The PCC decided to make the attraction a good scare that was family-friendly. "Our guests will scream and turn to each other and laugh at themselves," Magalei said. "We see a lot of families, a lot with younger children."

Good family entertainment -- it's a great marketing strategy!! And those ticket prices are nothing to laugh about. Knowing the quality of PCC shows, I'm use this is a fantastic production!

I, too, think Halloween is creepy. Our family has never celebrated Halloween. My parents and grandparents never celebrated Halloween. It is not a family tradition in our home. I like pumpkins without the carved out evil faces. We decorate our home for FALL with pumpkins and fall leaves, but never with jack-O-lanterns and skeletons.

We hope the trick or treat group also skip our home as well.

Oh for heaven's sake...lighten up, people.

Re: Jew...go ahead and turn your sprinklers on those little kiddies...but don't call the police and whine when you get your house toilet papered or egged.

By the way...even though the celebration of Halloween, or 'Samhain' started with the pagans...just like other pagan holidays, such as Christmas, and Easter, the Christian faith snapped them up and turned them into Christian holidays.

In fact...Pope Boniface IV attempting to replace the pagan holiday, declared Nov.1st to be 'All Saints Day' also known as 'All hallowmas', or
'All Hallow'. Ergo...the night preceding this new Christian holiday, became 'All Hallow Ev'n.'

Re: Emily...all you need do is post a sign stating that you do not celebrate Halloween. If you have a gate, close and lock it.

Eventually you and your family will be recognized as party poopers, and the kids'll avoid your house like the plague.

Suggestion though...if Jack-o-lanterns with carved evil faces disturb you...you could always carve pumpkins with happy, smiling, bright shiny faces.

What a bunch of kill-joys.
