Honoring Korver | 3:14 p.m. Oct. 21, 2009
Great to see Korver get recognition for his outstanding play in college. He is a dynamic player! It will be fantastic to see his knee heal and get back out on the court. Can hardly wait to see those 3 pointers fly!
Hooray for Korver | 3:21 p.m. Oct. 21, 2009
So good to see Korver's basketball talents in the news. He can dominate that 3 point line again if only he could get the ball in his hands more often.

Korver has proven he can be deadly from the 3 point range. Sure would like to see those talents put to better use. How exciting for Korver to get this recognition. Hopefully his injury will heal in time for the opening game so we can see him in action again.

Can't think of a more deserving player. Korver brings out the best in the NBA. Way to go!

I'm worried that Korver's knee is going to continue to give him problems all year. If he's unhealthy know just coming off the offseason what are the rigors of the regular season going to do to him??

I'm hope I'm wrong and I hope to see him out there playing 20-25 minutes a night. When healthy he can really help this team.
ESPN | 7:56 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
The Denver game will be televised on ESPN, not TNT.
What is the Difference | 8:31 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
TNT, ESPN, TBS, FSN they are all the same.

I think Korver is a bust. All he has done for us is slow down C.J.'s growth by taking away his minutes.
Korver improved | 8:51 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
his overall game last year in spite of shooting problems. If he can get his wheels running again he should be even better.

Sloan seems to realize a major reason for losing games comes from not enough production from the wings and guards. He also seems to realize many of the interior fouls come from porous defense on the exterior.

When healthy Korver can shoot. His defensive effort is better. He has trouble with quick opponents. Having another quick swingman would help. If Brewer can shoot that would help.

The only person that has slowed CJ's progress is CJ. Doesn't play in summer league... pretty much does what he wants...guess he knows more than the Jazz
@B.R. | 9:27 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
sounds like you are jelous, maybe cuz Korvs gets more chicks than you man.
John Wicks | 9:33 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
I don't understand how Korver can play golf all summer but know his knee is sore!!
Sloan Haters | 9:49 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
What did Deron say?

"The key to continued defensive success, Williams added, is keeping up the effort. He said it still comes and goes in spurts.

"We've got to be consistent," he said. "It's easy to talk about it, but we've got to go out there and do it, execute it and stick with our principles.

"It's GOT TO BE US out there WANTING to PLAY DEFENSE," Williams added. "You have to want to play defense. You have to want to get stops. That's the main thing."

How can this be? Coming from a player? All you Sloan haters have blamed it on our coaching and here is our team leader and one of the best players in the NBA saying it is on the players to go out there and do it?

Guess that pretty much should put an end to your stupid comments (we only wish) about coaching being the problem.

Even the players are saying it is up to the players to get it done with their own EFFORT.

I mean, do we suddenly have a new coach that we are able to hold these teams to 96 points?

Duh!!!!

Korver and Brewer are not the answers to a championship. Both need to hit the road next year. If not, turn Brewer into a bench player, but please, please, do not keep Korver. But the Jazz front office will give Brewer 5 million a year for 4 years. They will resign Korver for 4 million for 2 years and we will be in the middle of the pack for years to come. Get rid or them both and pay to get a true 2 who can shoot and defend.
C.J. Miles is the bust | 9:53 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
Send him anywhere but here. They should have let him go a long time ago. He's going to be like a Collins, or a Jauques Vaughan. You wonder why the heck he's stays around. I haven't seen him help the Jazz in any way be a better team.
Thats it!! | 9:54 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009
Lets just tell Korver he is back in "the valley" and then maybe he can be better than AVERAGE this season at shooting the 3....because that is what he was last season...AVERAGE.

Korver was 59th in the NBA in 3 point shooting %.

Does that sound like a "sharp-shooter" to you?

Okur ws #6 in the NBA last season...just as a reference point.

Korver is turning out to be as fragile and injury prone as Boozer.

I'm sure he gets more chicks but I'm not jealous cuz I got one good one that keeps me happy. I thought this was about basketball not women.
Ehhh | 12:27 p.m. Oct. 22, 2009
Brewer has a bad back...... who do we have left to play the 2/3. AK and Milsap can sort of play 3, and D-will was playing 2 with Maynor and Wesley is still on the roster but we are not in a good spot with the wing position right now.
magnus | 12:56 p.m. Oct. 22, 2009
Korver, Price, Brewer, Miles, Harpring...all less than 100%...Korver might be looking at surgery... Miles already had it on his shooting hand...Harpring is done...

Who do we have to play SG/SF? AK, and...Matthews?

I think it is time to hit the waiver wire for some help, I'm throwing my hope in the direction of Ime Udoka.

The Truth@Miles | 1:04 p.m. Oct. 22, 2009
With CJ and Korver out, watch Brewer average 15+ points, 5 rebs and 2 plus steals a game while shooting 50 percent from the field. The Jazz won't miss CJ's or Korver's softness on defense either. Maybe Brewer isn't the answer at the 2 guard if you want a 3 point shooter. But at the 2 and 3 spot you can post him up some against 2's, let him use his quickness against bigger 3's etc. and at 5 million he would be a bargain in a few years. I haven't heard D-Will talk about CJ's defense, however, he did like playing with Ronnie and Ronnie!! So far we are all still waiting for CJ to earn his contract. Most of last year CJ was given minutes at the begining of the 1st and 3rd quarters to develop, not because he earned it...while Brewer had a solid year starting. I'm still waiting for CJ to be the all-star you think he is.....
Miles | 1:20 p.m. Oct. 22, 2009
@akk: Have you ever went to a summer league game? It is horrible basketball. You must be a Sloanaholic and buy into the "summer league" theory of improving a player's game. CJ would get better if Jerry would play him. And CJ did get better in the off season. Just hurt now.

Miles | 3:50 p.m. Oct. 22, 2009
@Truth: When did Jerry start posting up Brewer? That aint happening in Utah. CJ is playing out of position. He should be a 2. And don't give me the 2/3 are interchangable. There is a huge difference on defense between guarding a 2 instead of a 3. Put Brewer defending a 3 and he aint so great. Brewer is half the reason we got blown out by the Lakers.
