Doug, you are a one trick pony or maybe a 2 trick pony, all i have seen you write columns are on bashing steroid use and the BCS system.

Living in Massachusetts I assure you all is not forgiven with Manny.
His manager and teammates would like nothing more than to see him gone. Don't kid yourself, he's at this point of his career he's a cancer and distraction to any team he plays with.

Doug, you were making a good case right up until the end. Should I fail to forgive A-Rod because his AVG was down during the season, or because he has had a monster postseason?

If I'm going to hold it against A-Rod, I need to hold it against the rest of the league. I shudder to think how many pro and college athletes are as good as they are because of performance enhancers. I say, let the cheaters still out there know that they are better off coming clean than hiding their crimes.

Fascinating about long-term after affects of steroids. It would be interesting to see the other long-term affects -- cancer, relationships, etc.

If Doug is a two trick pony, steroids and BcS seem like to worthy evils to fight.

Actually, studies indicate that there are no negative long-term (or short term for that matter) effects of anabolic steroid use. There has never been an overdose related death reported in the annals of medical history. To put that in perspective, consider the number of Acetametophin related deaths that occur each year. The general belief that Steroid use destroys lives is quite frankly unfounded.

Out of the thousands of major and minor league players that have or are taking PED's only 10 players (Sheffield, Sosa, Griffy, McGwire, Palmeiro, Bonds, Thomas, ARod, Thome, Ramirez) from the steroid generation have hit over 500 home runs. Less than the 11 from 50-70. You still have to have the HOF talent to achieve those marks. It's a media witch hunt if you ask me. Everyone knew what was going on, even the media but no one said anything because MLB was making money hand over fist and sports writers were making money covering it. Now the media is backtracking now that it's out there in the open as if they were blind sided by this. Those HOF voters need to quit the hollier-than-thou attitude and vote players in for what they did on the feild. Everyone knows Ricky Henderson used and he is in Fans love teams, not players. Players are human and will do what it takes to survive. I should know as I have been a life long Cowboys fan and we have had our share of drug users and malcontents but I love the team.

If your Wyoming Cowboys have been using PEDs, they must have got a bad lot of PEDs since they have been mediocre to bad in all sports for decades

I care. And so do many many real baseball fans. These guys are cheaters, and their enablers are the people running the baseball industry.
