windows?

No thanks I like Linux much better!

Enjoy your lack of

Application support!

And dont even start on WINE or Cedega.

No upgrade path from Windows XP -
Planned obsolescence -
Having to upgrade my software -

And yet Microsoft wonders why Vista failed to catch on?

Say goodbye Microsoft ... your operating system is about to die. Linux is on the verge of eliminating you from the market.

Windows?

Why did Microsoft make a failing product(Vista) after making a good one(XP)? Was it all to make more money? There are pirated versions of Windows which run much faster and smoother than the original. Why can hackers clean up Microsoft's product while the big-software engineers continue to make a defective product? --sure is mind boggling.

Vista?

Vista(Windows 6) spontaneously reboots right in the middle of applications, and, of course, work is lost. Microsoft may not be around for Windows 8. Linux is so much better, once you cross over you will never go back. Microsoft sold it's soul and it is now payback time.

Microsoft

1)makes a shoddy product and then "oops" here are some service packs to upgrade and fix the problems.
2)regulates the number of times Vista can be installed on your computer???(but I purchased it)
3)have to hand it to Bill Gates, expert on marketing trashy software.

Microsoft is a pile of garbage.

Ted

Can a purchaser of a new desk top computer order it with a Linux OS, or do you have to buy it in the after mkt. and install. Thx.

50 Billion Dollars

It sounds like that you're all just bitter and soured by the 50 billion dollar grapes that Gates obtained from his success of Microsoft.

50 billion dollars? come on, look at the product that was ushered in? Bill Gates shafted us with his poor software. We are not jealous, but ticked that Microsoft has cornered the market and shoved this brittle software in our faces. Glad there are pirated alternatives out there that actually surpass Microsoft versions. A BIG THANKS TO ALL THE HACKERS WHO FIX MICROSOFT'S SOFTWARE FOR FREE AND SHARE.

Linux? Are you kidding? In its current state it has no place on the desktop or home pc. It's lack of popular application support (ie., native iTunes)and lack of easy to use desktop interface is its death knell. Also, its development model frankly scares people. Who knows how and what is being put into that system than can be a future threat to my ID, finances and national security. Linux? No thanks. I can't stand Microsoft and their reliability is terrible, especially on mobile devices. But until Linux on the desktop is ready for primetime (and the market right now says no), it is a pipe dream. For now, we can only hope that Win7 is a big step up, especially in reliability.
