Utah State | 11:05 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
I know nothing of the game against UNR but when I read this article, I was completely stunned that the Ags only gave it to Turbin once in the 2nd half, when they were ahead.

That stat alone puts that loss on the coaching staff. How you don't run clock and control time of possession is beyond me in that situation.

I am a BYU fan. I cheer for Utah State because I know they can compete. My only hope is that they would learn to play every game with the same emotion that they show when they play the in-state games. The Ags would probably be bowl eligible already if they would just show up each week with the same attitude and emotion. Good luck Ags.

The coaches at USU aren't fools, they know that giving the ball to Turbin normally results in wild success. There is talk that Turbin wasn't his best (he got cramped at the end of the NMSU game 1 week ago), but he did play in 20 or so plays only getting the ball 10 times between 7 runs and 3 passes. On the other 10 plays he was either blocking or running routes, which doesn't exactly communicate someone who is struggling with an injury.

The UNR line outplayed us. It is entirely possible that the coaching staff made a judgment call to not over-use Turbin, ESPECIALLY given the way that Borel was throwing the football.

Your comments are appreciated, BYU fan.

Correction. John L. was not the last coach at Idaho with a winning team. The Vandals won the Big West conference in 1998 and beat Southern Mississippi in the second Humanitarian Bowl - the bowl that the school who gave us Harry Reid had laid a big egg in the year before. And the Vandals had a couple of decent teams after this. Jared, it seems you were so eager to toss in a disingenuous politiucal comment that you forgot the first rule of journalism - accuracy - but you are in good company these days.

Re: "I cheer for Utah State beacuse I know they compete".

This statement only backs up Bronco's statements that BYU fans don't have a clue what they're talking about. Utah State can't compete with anybody on any field even their own. The WAC which is one of the worst confereces in college football. The only game USU was competitive in the whole year was SUU and even than that game was in doubt if you listened to the 1st half. And with Idaho competeitive and bowl eligible shows you can turn a program around in one season and that USU once again made a horrible coaching hire.

Re: "The coaches at USU aren't fools." Um yes they are actually. And it has nothing to do with how much or little they use Turbin. It has to do with their inability to get this team ready for a game and to pull out the 'W' in the close games. This coaching staff has done nothing so far but show they can't get these kids to win games.
Go Aggies! | 11:19 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
You're the best
Improvement | 11:48 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
These Aggies haven't won many games yet, but they haven't rolled over dead yet either. Every game has been close and every game they have kept fighting until the end. Anyone who has actually been to to ALL of the Aggie home games over the last pathetic decade can tell you how huge that improvement alone is. If you thought Andersen was going to turn things around in a year you were an idiot for thinking it. He is a great coach and will be able to do great things if he is given time. Keep fighting hard Aggies! I have never been prouder of a one-win team!

Funny how every article about the Aggies brings out someone whose only purpose is to trash talk and put them down.

If they are as bad as you say, then ignore them and don't comment on the articles about them.

Many of us continue to be excited about their attitude and the progress they are making.

Aggies are definetly getting better. There is a better attitude and a better ability to compete. There is certainly a better recruiting program taking place than in recent years. The Ws will start this week.

The Aggies' football program will start to see success. Even as the begin to win games they will never have respect from the tds fans because in their tiny myopic universe the cougs are always in the mix for the NC and all other teams are inferior including BSU that is stealing their thunder.

Go Big Blue!!!
USU vs UNR | 1:14 a.m. Oct. 21, 2009
I was at the game, and the Ags had mixed success using Turbin to run the ball. The offense was more effective passing the ball against Nevada. There were a couple extremely debatable calls. Utah State is improving as is evident by the lead they had early. Utah State just hasn't learned how to finish a game yet. That will come in time. If you look at Idaho their coach went 1 - 11 his first year 2 -10 his second year, and now this year he is 6 - 1. It is possible for a team to improve, all improvements take time though.
I agree that its sad that people have to come on a positive article and attack the Aggies, and besides the statement of "Idaho competitive and bowl eligible shows you can turn a program around in one season and that USU once again made a horrible coaching hire." shows that this guy doesn't really know what he is talking about either. Looks like we should leave the decision making to the coaches and the people hiring the coaches for now.
Dallas Aggie | 6:44 a.m. Oct. 21, 2009
I definitely expect to finish the year with at least 4 wins. Our team is improving and we will only get better. To all the naysayers, if it is so bad, why do you waste your time putting USU down? I appreciate the optimism the coaching staff and players have. It is a mental game right now. We just have to finish what we start and actually pull the W out of the jaws of self defeat. I believe in our players and coaches! Can't wait to beat Louisana Tech this week at home!
1 win | 8:50 a.m. Oct. 21, 2009
You already have your one win Aggies! Looking at your schedule you have zero chance at winning any of the remaining games based off of what I've seen this year.

But the real question I have is how Aggies will react win they end the season with only 1 win? Will you be calling for Andersen's head? Personally, I think you will get better but just not this year. Sometimes you take a couple steps backward before you can go forward and I think thats what will happen with the Aggies. I really do think this team will be competetive in 3 years or so. I just think Aggie fans need to be a little more patient.
Texmex | 5:40 p.m. Oct. 21, 2009
The problem is Utah State. The football program is just a joke and will always be a bottom dweller. Program has actually dipped below Brent Guy's standards. LOL. Most likely it should go into FCS status to compete.
Maybe | 2:52 p.m. Oct. 23, 2009
The football team should play their games in the Spectrum, it sounds like from Aggie fans that people are scared to play there because they would lose.
