Great news! The Aggies sure can use a quarterback that can complete a down-field pass.

Nice job getting this kid, Andersen!

This is great! He'll be awesome for the Ags in the years to come.

And a sidenote to anonymous...you must not follow the Aggies much, because Borel has completed 109 passes this year...most of which were down field. ;)
Too bad for Utah & BYU | 8:19 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Utah and BYU missed out. Great Job Hart. One step closer to getting USU back to a winning program. Now the pressure is off, go get the Bengals!
USU GREAT PICK | 8:35 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
USU is lucky to grab such an amazing kid. Hart will lead USU back to the promise land. Just keep packing on the talent Coach Anderson!

Aggie for life!

Great Job Gary | 9:07 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Coach Andersen is making smart moves to bring the Aggie Football program around.

Go Big Blue!!!

Now an Aggie Fan. Great job USU. Great job Hart!!!
I Don't Think | 9:44 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
BYU and Utah are too concerned with their QB situation.
Still a nice pickup for the Ags
Re:Anonymous | 9:49 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Have you watched Utah St. this year or are you a typical BYU fan? Diondre has thrown for about 1,500 yards and 1 INT in 6 games. Yes thats correct ONE(1) INTERCEPTION and over 250 yards per game. Get off Diondre's back, he is not the reason we are 1-5. Go Aggies!
Nice Pick Aggies! | 10:02 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Congrats Hart! Coach Andersen is going to get the Aggies football program rolling. Again nice in State pickup.

Riley who?
Anonymous | 10:25 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
There is a reason he didn't stay home and go to school . . .

USU fans need to take off the tinted glasses and see the prgram for what it is and what it will continue to be.

Good luck in basketball, though you will have a tough one coming to SLC this year. The rest of your in-state games should be a walk in the park!
Aggie Fan | 10:26 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Hart won't just be handed the job in a couple years because Kane Wilson is a very good freshman that is redshirting. Glad to see the Aggies getting some of these instate kids. Now go get Jordan Nielsen from Sky View. Big and strong. After watching him against Logan a few weeks back and on TV against Lake City this kid is a stud and leads the state in sacks as a junior.
Just fine | 10:28 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Utes don't need a quarterback. We are just fine with what we have got.
Great news | 10:28 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Go STATE!
Records? | 10:37 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Exactly what records has he set?
Hunt's | 10:40 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Congratulations Alex! We couldn't be happier for you - you'll be a great addition to the Utah State team. A great QB and a great young man - a very deserved honor.
Re: Records? | 12:13 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Well last week he set the State record for most TD passes in a game with 8. He actually did it in just the first 2 qtrs. I'm not sure of the others.
Who? | 7:31 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
And who was Jordan playing when he threw the 8 TD passes? Alta? Bingham? Timpview?

I am sure it had to have been one of the quality programs in the state.
go Aggies | 7:47 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
too bad Jordan won't qualify for state. Pretty disturbing with a record setting QB and all.
Coach Anderson | 7:59 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
appears to be keeping his word. To build a program with as many in State kid as he can! Smart move its a wonder no one else figured it tout! Bring in the best local talent you can and build an instant fan base when all Jonny's extened family shows up in the stands to see him play! With the talent here in Utah getting better it just makes sence! Good Job Coach Anderson! If you build it people will come.
Aggie Watcher | 8:05 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Great pick up Aggies. Keep building the stable of quality kids coach A and staff.
I'm excited for what's going on in Logan and after this next recruiting year and the off season I'm very optimistic for next years Aggies.
DJ | 8:07 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
It is good to see a little buzz about USU football. The TV deal they just signed with CW30, this recruit, and the fact that they played well against Nevada all give me hope. The loss to New Mexico State, however, gives me a sour stomach. It will be a slow process, but I think USU will become one of the best programs in the WAC. I do think overall the program is headed in the right direction right now. This kid has the tools to be a very solid college quarterback. I hope it works out.
Coach A | 8:47 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Outstanding pick up. Way to give this kid a shot. It's funny how there is always negative posts comming in about Hart no matter what he does. I wonder why? Maybe when you're the best every one tries to knock you off. It always happens. Hart this is an amazing thing, take full advantage. You have an opportunity of a life time to get this program turned around. Coach A is heading in the right direction.

Go Aggies!
D Harrison | 8:53 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Congrats Alex and congrats coach A on signing him! Good luck in Logan, no better place to go than USU and I'm excited for the chance to cheer for you again. Go Aggies!!!
re:JJ | 9:09 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
The Logan High player, Manning, didn't bolt, he's on a mission in the Baltic's. Learn before you write.

Two top QB's in two years. Andersen's headed in the right direction.
Hart | 9:18 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
I have seen Hart play a lot, and I think he is for real. He's big, athletic, talented, has a high football IQ and could really thrive in college. He doesn't have quite the escapability that Lloyd has, but he reads defenses and throws the ball better. Yes I have seen Lloyd play as well, and I hope he is an all american @ Stanford.
Sweeeet!!! | 9:55 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Congrats Hart. It's great to see the Jordan coaches helping their players get scholarships year in and year out. Unlike their neighbors up the street, whom leave it to their players and parents to do all of the work if they want to move on and play in college.
Apple Honey Lane/Swire gang | 10:11 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Congrats to you Alex. You have worked so hard to get to where you are and deserve this opportunity. Continue to work hard and you will do well in Logan. Again, congrats to you and your family - you guys are great people.
Alex Hart | 10:40 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Alex Hart reminds me a lot of Alex Smith. His body type looks the same when he was a freshman at the U. We all know what he did in his time there. NOT BAD. Keeping working hard Alex and possibly you can do the same at STATE. Good luck!
ex team mate of hart | 10:55 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Way to go alex this is impressive. I was a team mate of yours when you were a sophmore and back then I knew you would be legit.. I will be watching you continue to shine nice job.
Wishing... | 11:22 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Congrats Alex! Utah State is a great school with a great new football coach. I still think Alta would be unstoppable if Alex was the QB there. Could have gone to either school...Jordan got him!
Shocking | 11:42 a.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Congrats to Hart on going to JHS where he was able to start for two years on the high school football team and get an offer from Utah State. He leads the nation in passing because he throws the ball more than any QB in the nation Daaa!!!! I would rank him maybe in the top 20 QB's in Utah, and no other offers but Utah State and they expect him to play QB?? A good HS QB can at least get his team into the playoffs don't you think.
Re:Shocking | 12:30 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
What's shocking is it didn't come sooner. What else did Hart have to do to prove he is legit? There wasn't anything else he could do. To this point of the season there is no denying Hart is the best QB in the state hands down. Too bad Jordan doesn't have a D. It would be scary to see how good Jordan would be with a defense. Those #'s Hart has put up would be even better with a defense. Hart don't let these idiotic comments get to you. You unlike some in the state have had to prove yourself on the field. This is an amazing day for Hart. Like I said before, people want to try to talk you down when you are the best. You are the best!

Go get the Bengals now!
plyxply | 1:12 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
congrats to Alex, you are a super player, great kid, and will do very well in Logan.
As for those people on here who have anything negative to say, it must be a miserable life you're leading if you have to resort to making derogatory statements about a high school player.
Good luck with Brighton this week and we're looking forward to seeing #14 in Aggie Blue!
QB | 1:15 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
I think BYU did just fine on their future QB will take the #1 kid in the country. Thanks anyway aggie fan. And in regards to your future is bright, just remember that is no mole hill you have to climb try more like the ALPS. Good luck.
football fan | 1:42 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
all the doubters can shut-up now! Coach A knows more about football than all of you combined! He picked Hart! Great move!
DC Aggie | 2:12 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Great kid, great quarterback, great family, and great school! This is the best news I've heard in a long time. Go Alex! Go Aggies!

Go read some of your own posts bud.
Good luck aggies... | 3:07 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
All Aggie fans might be real excited to get Alex as their QB, but you need to remember...Bronco wrote a huge note on his big white memo board...CALL ALEX HARTS MOTHER WHEN HE HAS 6 MONTHS LEFT ON HIS MISSION!!!
The best thing Coach Anderson could do, do let the kid go on a mission!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW to Shocking | 3:17 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Why all the negative comments. The phone is ringing off the hook at alta for J.Brown(NOT). Ammon Olsen was way better that J.Brown and all he could muster up was SUU. Give me a break. Coach Anderson is an offensive guru and he passed on A.Olsen, go figure. Boston Handley is out stating Brown in the time he has had in there. Jackson Brown was the qb in that family.
Good Get | 3:24 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Being a HS ref I've seen most of the top QB's play the past few years and this is a good pickup for USU. I think he is better than the kid going to Standford. He isn't as good as Riley Nelson was in HS. In my opinion Riley was the best HS QB to come out of Utah in the last 10 years. Who will be the better college player who knows. Totally different ball game.
Holy cow guys | 3:24 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
He's still in HIGH SCHOOL. Don't give him the Heisman yet. Sure, he's been putting up numbers in high school, but we'll see how he can do in a year or two. Not hatin, just sayin. Speculation is all that--speculation. Just speculating.
really  | 3:32 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
The truth is there we're several other qb offered but turned them down a d1 school That can only beat suu

Uncle Stew | 3:46 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009
Alex, I am so proud of you! I don't know another kid that deserves this more than you. You are the most humble kid I know and I know this was killing you waiting for this. Coach Anderson is so lucky to share you for the next years to come. Way to keep the family tradition alive. Alex, keep doing what you do and keep proving people wrong. Good luck against Brighton this week and hopefully Tuesday again. It has been truly amazing watching you do what you do each week. Thanks to all of you who have supported Alex on here. It means a lot to our family from the people who don't try to knock him down. Thanks to all the Jordan coaches, players and fans who have helped Alex.

Go Jordan and Go Aggies!
