Pine View | 8:13 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009
What happens if Pine View loses to Dixie and ties for 3rd. Would they have a play in game?
To: Pine View | 9:15 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009
No, the tie with Cedar or DH would be between teams from different classifications and since PV finished at least third overall would go as the second 4A team from Region 9 and likely play at Spanish Fork.

so if PG plays Lloyd, which I think they'll have to do, it could be a close game, but after seeing what LP did to PG's O-line and backup qb Alta could have a hey-day on defense pressuring the qb. I think Alta's been hearing about how great PG is all year and will be as jacked up for this game as they have been for any region game in a long time. I think Alta will win this game, and PG will be on the road for the first game of the playoffs.
On another note, I think Brighton could give Bingham a great game if Alta can pull off the win at PG.
don't overlook Jordan | 11:40 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009
brighton will have to beat Jordan this week and again next Tuesday to make the playoffs. Hart has 3x the passing yards of both brightons qbs, more rushing yards than all but one of brightons running backs and only one less td. don't overlook Jordan!
Concerned Dixie Fan | 12:02 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
So what is the scenario for Dixie? Who will they be playing and when?
Anonymous | 12:09 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Bountiful may not admit it, but Highland did the Braves a big favor by beating them and Woods Cross.
Heber-ite | 12:12 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Go Wasatch!! I'm lookin forward to a great game between the two Region 10 powerhouses. A fall night in Heber and high school football! Seems like a great night to me!
re: don't overlook Jordan  | 12:36 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
If Brighton wins either game against Jordan they are in the tournament.
RE: don't over look Jordan | 1:43 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Trust me, Brighton is preparing to play Bingham. Hart can put up big numbers, he is kind of the Andre Ware of Utah HS football. System QB....chuck and duck..plug and play.... you get my point. Before Hart family, friends and fans jump on here to defend him, consider this. Post all you want about his leading the nation or how many TDs etc, but it does not change the fact, your team is weak, your D is terrible and Hart is no better than the 4th best QB in region. (Remind me why he chose to go to Jordan instead of Alta.... oh yeah... Jordy was staying at Alta)

Brighton knows they can score at will and at least slow down Jordan. Brighton 28-13
??????? | 1:57 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
If Jordan beats Brighton they will both have 3 losses. It seems like the tie breaker should be head to head, not a play in game?? So if Brighton wins they are in and if Jordan wins they should be in because of head to head. A play in makes no sense.
Jordan Fan | 2:00 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Brighton please overlook Jordan. The only way Jordan can win this game is if Jordan plays their best players on defense. I don't see that happening. Why would Jordan expect to stop Brighton when they haven't been able to stop anybody all year long? Hopefully its a close fun game.
agree | 2:00 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
with anonyomous. Highland is going to get the shaft when brackets come out as they will be in the upper bracker with Mtn. Crest AND Timpview while Bountiful and WX will be on the other side playing patsies like Dixie, SV, Bonny. What a great thing it is to win your region and have to play the top team in the state in the Quarters. What a joke.
Re plyxply | 2:34 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Question for you? Although I hope PG does beat Alta Friday, why does PG need to play Lloyd? Why not rest him and get him healthy for the playoffs?
PG wins and Alta plays Bingham 1st round and PG is the #2 seed (provided Brighton beats Jordan)
Alta wins and will face Brighton in the Semi's (provided Brighton beats Jordan) and PG is the 3rd seed.
So, even though I want to win, why do you think PG needs to play Lloyd?
Thanks!
re Don't overlook Jordan | 2:37 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
let me help you a bit. If or more likely when Brighton beats Jordan this Friday, there is no Tuesday game, Jordan will be out.

The only way Jordn is in is IF they beat Brighton on Friday and then beat them again the following Tuesday in the play in game for 4th.

Tough luck, Jordan deserves to be in the playoffs, Region 4 is just too stacked! Hart deserves to be there!
re: heber-ite | 2:38 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Wasatch and PC are 2 good teams but I can't see Wasatch staying close in this game PC has too much size and speed, Wasatch has some big kids but not enough and when the QB is on the run Wasatch doesn't score, all I see is pressure pressure and some more pressure.

PC 42
Wasatch 12 2 missed field goals, but those 2 won't cost you the game this time!
@Heber-ite | 2:46 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
All kidding aside, do you really believe Wasatch can hand Park City another loss? But you are correct, fall and football! Can't get any better than this!
Wow | 2:49 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
4th best huh? Um, obviously you haven't seen him play. These power house D's like PG, Alta, LP and AF that he played he still put up over 300+ against them. Not 1 game all year below 300. System QB? Every QB that plays QB is a system QB. They run there teams system. Hello. That is such a sign of an ignorant fan. Just so you know he went to Jordan to be an "ALL STATE QB" 2 years in a row! Wouldn't you? Jordy has all Hart's best receivers at Alta and he is still putting these #'s up. Again save your negative comments to yourself about 1 kid. You're right Jordan D is terrible. 1 player can only do so much. The offense is doing there part, now it's the D that needs to step up.
D-NEWS | 2:52 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
HOW CAN YOU POST COMMENT RE:don't over look Jordan? They is bashing this Hart kid for no reason. That is terrible!!! It's fine if they want to bash a team, but 1 high school kid. That is BAD!
RE:???? | 3:09 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
The head to head according to UHSAA only factors in for a tie when it comes to seeding not to leave one team out. If Jordan wins, they will have to play again. No worries... Brighton will win by at least 5 TDs. Jordan had to come from behind to beat AF and were blown out by Northridge for crying out loud.

Hey Jordan fans.... at least you jump on here and rip Lloyd or Brown or any other QB and tell everyone how good Hart is, since your team is pathetic.
Re plyxply | 2:34 p.m. Oct. 19,  | 3:14 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
there was a typo, sorry:

PG wins and Alta plays Bingham 1st round and PG is the #2 seed (provided Brighton beats Jordan)
Alta wins and will face BINGHAM not "Brighton" in the Semi's (provided Brighton beats Jordan) and PG is the 3rd seed.
to PG Offensive Line: | 3:16 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
You guys have been called out all season and it showed horribly against LP!

Are you ready to show up Friday?

I hope so!
Re: agree | 3:41 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
This is interesting. Keep in mind that Bountiful is going to have their starting backfield back and healthy from what I hear. With their offense back on track and their defense playing like they are, I would'nt want to play them.
don't overlook Jordan | 3:46 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
yeah, should have put "or" instead of "and". You can't argue with Hart's numbers, though. Jordan has to keep the ball out of brightons hands as much as possible to win. Keep that questionable defense off the field and let Hart tear up brightons defense.
re Wow | 3:50 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Not sure about the other schhols, but when Jordan played PG he scored on the 1st drive and thats it! They did squeak out 1 more at the very end of the game when all the starters were out.

Hart is a skilled QB for sure!

I would rather have touchdowns and winning games instead of losses and yards.

Yardage is just one more stat to measure a games success or failure, its not that huge of a deal.

Ask Hart himself, would he rather have had all those 300 yard games, or half the yards and gotten the win?

The answer is pretty obvious.
Anonymous | 4:07 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Everyone is concerned about playing Bingham in the frist round. Be concerned about playing us! Go Silverwolves, rock the tournament.
RE: RE: Plysply | 4:17 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
If Alta beats PG this week, Alta is #1, LP is #2, and PG is #3.

If PG beats Alta, LP is #1, PG is #2, and Alta is #3.

Reason why: If Alta wins- They will be #1 because they have on region loss, and they have the head-to-head over Lone Peak.

If PG wins, Lone Peak will be #1 because they have have one loss in region and the head-to-head over PG.

Simply said, Lone Peak will be either #1 (If PG wins) or #2 (If Alta wins).
RE:????? | 4:20 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Jordan fans haven't jumped on here and said 1 thing about Brown. Most Jordan and Alta kids are friends. Everyone jumps on here to let you PG fans know that our QB's are better than yours. A lot better. Don't try to drag Brown into this as well. Brown is a great kid and so is Hart. The only problem everyone has w/PG is your comments trying to "HYPE" your QB as the "BEST EVER", and your team is the "greatest ever" Everyone knows who the best QB's in the state are.

GO HAWKS!!!
Wow | 4:31 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
You would rather have TD's, and winning games huh? Well let's see who has the most TD's in the state? Hart does! That's what he does is throws TD's. Over 4 a game! Hart does all he can to get his team to win. I'm sure he would trade a lot of things to have a defense that can stop someone to. But he can't so all he can do is try to score as many TD's as posible and hope it's enough. The answer is pretty obvious isn't it? You think Hart only cares about his stats? You are a joke. This team wouldn't be anywhere w/out him. He does all he can every game. What else do you want, 10 TD's a game? He would if he could to keep the defense off the field. The receivers and offense do everything in there power to keep the D off the field. They can all only do so much!
re:heber-it | 4:41 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
i'm from morgan, and as much as i'd love to see you guys from wasatch beat PC, well i just don't see it happening.... PC 31 Wasatch 17. Still though, good luck to wasatch!
Wasatch or Park City? | 4:46 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
It is hard to believe that even the Wasatch faithful actually think that they can compete with our Miners.

Let's compare...

They've played the same region teams. Park City has scored more points and held teams to less.

Outside of region play,
PC beat Canyon View, Logan, Manti, Delta and lost to JD. Combined W-L record (22-23)
Wasatch beat G'ville, B-Lomond, Morgan, Judge, N Sanpete, and lost to Westlake. Combined W-L (14-28)

PC 54-0 over Carbon; Wasatch 53-6
PC 48-7 over Morgan; Wasatch 30-28
PC 71-24 over ALA; Wasatch 50-27
PC 63-0 over Union; Wasatch 47-0

Granted, beating Carbon, ALA, or Union means nothing. But the Morgan game is against a quality opponent.

Prediction: Park City 53 Wasatch 20
Re RE: RE: Plysply | 4:17 p.m. O | 5:19 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Lone Peak may be #1 if PG wins BUT no matter who wins, they SHARE a region title!

Just shows how tough region 4 is and how close the top 3 teams are.

There are 3 different scenarios of who can share the title, depending on the outcome 1 game Friday.

Note to all other regions... Hope you don't get paired with any region 4 team!
Best QB | 5:23 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Would everyone still think Ty Detmer was a heisman winner if he went 6-5 that year? No, Its all about wins. So far Lloyd (as a starter) is the best in that category. 24-1. The one loss comes last year vs Syracuse. He didnt play vs LP so that doesnt count.

Hart is good, but anyone can put up numbers like that in that offense.

Lloyd and brown- best of region 4
Bingham Fan | 5:41 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009

Your all playing for second place anyway.
Bingham | 6:02 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Stay in region 3 and play your week schedule.

IF you make it out of the 1st round, Alta or Brighton could send you packing right away!
Bingham Fan #1 | 6:24 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
do people forget that BINGHAM has not lost yet in UTAH?!?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Well good hopefully you do now, but they are so good, but it will just show how good they can be by beating out.........

Brighton First round
Cottonwood Second round
Alta Third Round
and my guess is LP or Syracuse in finals which wont be fun at all!

who can stop langi??? and anderson best safety in the state, who does talk alot of trash and taunt, but why would you not with over 10 picks!?!?!?! and oh they got him playing reciever... wow bring it utah!!! bingham 2009 champs!
How about Dixie? | 6:58 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Is there anyone in the know regarding who Dixie would play if they win or lose to Pine View?
pine view playoffs | 7:10 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
I believe the state does not allow a team to be in the playoffs if the tie. Pine View would have to win 3rd place outright. If they don't beat Dixie they will have to have a play in game with Region 5's 4th place team
Pine View playoffs | 7:11 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009

Wow....I'm amazed at how everyone has forgotten about Bingham. Just the way we like it. Hey Region 4, are you ready to get rocked!!!" - Hmm. Let me see if I can figure this out. You're amazed that everyone "has forgotten about Bingham". You say: "That's just the way we like it". If you're so glad they've "forgotten about Bingham", WHY ARE YOU REMINDING THEM!!!?

All Bingham fans need to look at the schedules that this web site has, back to 2000. Take a look at 2005. 10-0 going into the first round and knocked out of the playoffs by Brighton in the first round. No team can take a win for granted once the playoffs start.
Dixie fan | 7:22 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
you mean to tell me the High school athletic association would allow a team in the 4A state playoffs who did not beat one 4A team? That doesn't sound possible. Am I missing something?

How does a 3-way play in game work if Westlake, Mountain View and Timpanogos all tie?
Pine View vs. Dixie | 7:29 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
The loser plays at Spanish Fork, the winner would host the Orem vs. Mountain View winner. I hope that information wins. Hope that you win because Spanish Fork is a good team and schooled both Orem and Mountain View.
3-way play in game | 7:38 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
"Anonymous | 7:26 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009" - If I remember correctly, two of the teams play for 2 quarters and the winner plays the third team for 2 quarters. I don't remember how they decide which two teams play first. Maybe by a coin toss, maybe by record. Can anyone verify or refute this, and clear up the question on who plays first?
Another Dixie Fan | 9:03 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Well Dixie is a better team than Pine View, however, I am not certain if Dixie can beat Pine View at Pine View, it's a head thing.

Dixie should never have lost to Sprinville, Dixie is the better team.

My prediction is that Dixie will play Spanish Fork and win.
Re: Anonymous 7:26 PM | 9:07 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
None of them would have a tiebreaker over the other so they would flip coins. Two teamw play a half and the winner would the play the winner of the coin flip in a second half of football with that winner going to state.
Sorry Wasatch | 9:30 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Im from morgan...and there's nothing that i hate more than watching PC win. As much as I want to see Wasatch win I don't think it can happen. PC's offense is to hard to stop, with 5 and 2 running around back there its gonna be tough. Good luck to you though, take it to those miners
