Tailings reality

Sad story... but likely our incresing reality here in Utah as the world ships its nuclear waste to Utah. Expect accidents.

One of the challenges with bringing nuclear waste to Utah will be that it will shipped via railroad and cross through major cities, including the railroad tracks by the LDS Temple. Imagine a terrorist attack or human accident where waste spills near downtown Salt Lake.

We need mentally prepare ourselves for this likely possibility.

Why do UT residents, esp those of the dominant faith, allow their state to be garbage dump. Seems the land which was once consecrated is certainly that no longer.

Not the first time

A few years ago a truck filled with radioactive water popped its hatch at a rest stop along I-15 in southwestern Utah because when it was filled in California, no one had taken into account how altitude change would affect the cargo. There was a cleanup, it was only in local news so far as I know.
This stuff will be common as we become the nation's and possibly the world's disposal point.

whatever

The leadership of Utah should hang their heads in shame.

This nation will never address our waste problem as long as psychopathic idiots sell out their own citizens to allow dumping that will forever outlive any minuscule & temporary economic benefit it brings.
