MWC Quarterbacks: "Where's Johnson?" "Where's Johnson?" Fear Him or get burned!
Amazing athlete | 9:04 a.m. Oct. 18, 2009
This kid is a remarkable athlete. I love watching him play and will be sad to see his last game at the end of the season. Some NFL team will be fortunate to draft him.
Dear RoJo | 9:10 a.m. Oct. 18, 2009

Maxie's passes will go your direction.
We'd like 3 picks from you --1 returned for a TD.

I was wondering if Cox fumbled the ball or if he deliberately handed it off to Johnson. Either way it was a great play.
Ute4Life | 10:02 a.m. Oct. 18, 2009
RoJo is coming of age. If there was any question about this guy playing on Sunday I think he has made a strong case with these first 6 games. Should be ANOTHER Utah DB going on the first day of the draft next spring.
Scott Johnson | 11:29 a.m. Oct. 18, 2009
Has 3 interceptions for the year. Looks like he's trailing right behind him.

Don't get me wrong Robert Johnson is a good athlete, but he's not the only safety in the conference who can make plays.
Anonymous | 12:24 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
I wish I could play safety and have the ball thrown directly to me - numerous times. Then I might be a 1st round draft choice as well!
Anonymous | 12:52 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
Is that the same Scott Johnson that got burned by the SDSU receivers yesterday?
RoJo | 12:56 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
Anyone want to guess how many he'll pick off of Max Hall? I'll go with a conserative 2.
Scott Johnson? | 1:47 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
Listen kUUgs, you've got nice running backs and a terrific quarterback.

But don't kid yourself about Scott Johnson being the equivalent Robert Johnson.

Here's the numbers:

Robert Johnson leads the nation with five interceptions in 6 games, or .833 interceptions per game.

Scott Johnson has 3 interceptions in 7 games, or .428 interceptions per game.

But the difference should have been clear enough when Robert Johnson advanced the fumble 37 yards for a TD.

Scott Johnson is a nice field general. But let's be honest with ourselves, he doesn't have any TD runs in him, does he?

As a result, next year Robert will be playing on Sundays and Scott never will.
Scott Johnson | 1:50 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
yeah but he gets burned more often than not lol
Ute4Life | 1:56 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
Re: Scott Johnson... I'm not gonna say that I know who Scott Johnson is. But does he have 2 scoop n' scores this season? RoJo is probably the best safety in the conference.
re: scott johnson | 2:31 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
who cares... article about RoJo, not about conference....

BIG SHOT ROB! BIG PLAY ROB!
Cold Turkey | 4:14 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
Sorry RoJo, Max went cold turkey in Las Vegas; he's forsaken interceptions for TDs, passing and running.

Don't feel too bad though, BYU hasn't given up interceptions entirely.

Scott Johnson will become Cain's favorite target on November 28th.
re: RoJo | 4:55 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
NONE!

but, Cain will make up for that by throwing 2 ints to Scott Johnson.
Hall is dumb, but......... | 7:36 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
But not that dumb. He will throw to the flat and the out routes, but not over the middle. Hall did that last year. If he does, Mendumbhall will pull him and put in his Utah State defector.
Hall dumb... | 8:11 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
only someone who really IS DUMB would think that Max Hall is dumb.

I know it hurts for BYU haters to deal with reality, but Max is now #4 in the NCAA in passing effeciency, right behind Tim Tebow and Jimmy Clausen

1 Kellen Moore, Boise St. 171.18
2 Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame 166.35
3 Tim Tebow, Florida 164.63
4 Max Hall, BYU 163.74

16 Andy Dalton, TCU 152.21

22 Matt Barkley, Southern California 150.66
24 Christian Ponder, Florida St. 149.45

34 Terrance Cain, Utah 139.57
36 Diondre Borel, Utah St. 138.68

Congrats Utah fans, your QB is doing slightly better than Utah State's QB.
Re: RoJo | 8:34 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009

I say...3 is a good number
Paul Kruger... | 9:26 p.m. Oct. 18, 2009
... is still open!
Max Still Leads in Another Cat. | 12:22 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Checked the NCAA list and Max still is safely in second place with the most interceptions with 10. He also has 16 TDs.

So, for every 1.6 TDs, Hall throws a pick.

Yeah, let's here it for the national runners up... in interceptions... BYU!
Anonymous | 8:39 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Byu fans are classic when max does alright-good he is the best ever and should win the heisman

when he has a bad game or two- he is the worst quarterback in history.

True bandwagon wannabe football fans. Max is an average qb has ups and downs like all average qbs have

Go Utes!!
Anonymous | 9:08 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009
As a cougar fan I dont have a problem watching/rooting for the Utes. The Johnson kid looks legit. As for the band wagon jumping Cougar fans, I don't think the mouthy ones from both teams ever jump completely on. They just wait for something to go wrong and then get on here and spew their meaningless talk.
RO JO | 10:19 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009
I know Robert Johnson and not only is he a heckuva player but he is probably the nicest, sweetest guys around. What a quality player we have! And all those people commenting on Max Hall and Scott Johnson, ge off this thread, this article is about Robert Johnson and teh asset he is to our team. Go away cougs.

I love being a ute!!!
re: Hall dumb | 3:50 p.m. Oct. 19, 2009
Who cares what Maxie pad's efficiency is. Kruger's still open. If all Utah did was throw the ball, Cain's efficiency would be better too. I could care less if Cain throws for 200 or 500 yards as long as the run game is solid. a win is a win
