It's just sad. So sad. I used to live up the street from the Bastian family in Centerville about 7 years ago. I just couldn't imagine what Rick's wife and kids must be going through right now.

We were the Bastian's neighbors before we moved to California many years ago. I hadn't heard of the loss of their beloved children until Pres. Edgely's general conference talk a couple of years ago. I am so sorry. My heart is breaking for KayeLynn and their other kids as well as other extended family members. They are in my prayers.

You are all very good to leave condolences and kind thoughts about Rick, KayeLynn, and their family. KayeLynn sends her love. Rick is probably as happy as we are sad. God bless.

My heart and soul mourn for the Bastian family. Bishop Rick Bastian is my bishop, but even more my leader, my friend, and my brother. Bishop Bastian was a man who stood for righteousness and loved his family and all those who he served. He was and is a great man. May our prayers be with his family at this time.

That is so sad for his wife. There is never a guarantee when it comes to life and death we just never know. Sometimes when God calls we have no choice but to respond to his call.

He was such a good man, life sometimes is not fair. I wish he could had live longer but little do I know about God's plan for him. I will miss him. May his soul rest in peace. I pray that his wife and family may find peace and love even at this very trial times in their lives. Adiu! Adiu! You will be remembered for your true devotion to your God and to your fellow beings.

My daughter is a freshman at LDSBC and in Bishop Bastian's ward. She and all the young adults in his ward are mourning this great loss. She recalled his great talk to the ward on chastity just a week ago and his getting her tickets for general conference. Our thoughts, prayers and love go to the Bastian family from PA.

I grew up with the Bastian family and Brother Bastian was a counselor in the singles ward I attended. He was a very good, righteous, and strong man, one of the best I have ever known. The Bastian family is such a good family and I love them all. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children. May God strengthen and bless you at this time.
