I'm hopeful Haws performs to his hype since he sounds like a great fit for the Y.

Go Cougs!
Pumped ! | 8:16 a.m. Oct. 17, 2009
Lots of reasons to be totally pumped about the present and future prospects for BYU hoops. We have great returning depth and experience, plus amazing talented recruits. It just can't get much better than Haws/ Davies/Collinsworth. Wish I did not live so far away so I could see a few games in the flesh. Guess I will just have to rely on Direct TV to get my BYU fix. Trolls and detractors will certainly respond with their usual pathetic diatribe(s) which is par for the course for folks who have nothing better nor the least bit rewarding/fulfilling in their pathetic lives. This will be the year BYU penetrates the invisible bubble keeping us from serious noise in the Big Dance.
Cummard Observation | 10:16 a.m. Oct. 17, 2009
Cummard was the youngest of the ex-players in attendance at the Cougar reunion. I really enjoyed watching him play as he was as well-rounded as any player we have had in Provo. But with his recent German team buyout it looks like he may have received his last professional payday. It is not for a lack of talent but simply a lack of size. The guy is just too slight to play professionally. It even hurt him on the college level as he seemed to wear down or fade against the better competition. It's too bad because he is a great guy and extremely talented but it seems that over the past 5 years he just can't put on the size he needs. Good luck to him in whatever else he pursues!

1. Can you say loaded? The Marriott Center should be packed as Rose trotts out the most talent the Cougs have had since Ainge, Craig, Trumbo, Roberts and Kite shared the floor.

2. Was JT not being picked as team captain a slight? He is returning with 3 MWC championships and looking at becoming the only Coug to have 4 in a career and yet not named as a captain? Just wonder if it reflects a bit on his penchant to go outside of the team concept? But I have a great deal of hope that he will have a fantastic season as he will undoubtedly have an overseas pro contract waiting after this season. The more balanced and productive his game this season the better his financial prospects will be.

3. Haws, Davies, and Abuo should have a nice battle in camp for the most minutes at the spot left vacant by Cummard. If all else is equal I would guess the most minutes go to the veteran.

4. Haws is obviously very talented. But with such an incredibly deep team maybe he redshirts so that he comes back from his mission with 4 years to play?
