It will be interesting to see how the Jazz handle the situation with Harris. I know they want to give him an opportunity, but with the surprising play of Wesley Matthews I don't see anyway he has a shot of making this ballclub. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing more of Price at the two guard spot, and more of Brewer at the small forward. Price just doesn't have a true point guard mentality, and Brewer doesn't shoot well enough from the outside to be really effective as a two guard. I think Jerry has been playing them out of position all along. Then you throw in Miles, Korver, Kirilenko, and perhaps Matthews, and you have a glut of guys at those positions when everyone is healthy. I really think the Jazz should package a couple of there wing players together, or a wing player and Boozer, and find a defensive minded center, who could provide an inside presence. It wouldn't even matter if he ever scored a point, because we already have plenty of other guys who can fill it up on offense.
excellent post. Completely agree. With Matthews emergence now are depth becomes greater. We have abundance wing players, and to get a defensive center who can block shots and intimidate and we will have a complete team that can compete with any in the Western COnference.
For people that have watched Johnson more than I have: Please any one comment if he has a chance of making this squad or at least the final 15 at the expense say of Fez or Suton?
Johnson might very well be as good a player as Fesenko, Suton, or even Kosta, but since the Jazz didn't invest a draft pick in him, he will probably get caught in the numbers gam, and get cut.
What little i've seen of him, he looks like he has a shot at playing in the league. He is your basic journeymen back up center type.
Hmmm, a defensive minded center who doesn't have to score. Ostertag??
