Hopefully, Jarron can make the final Blazer roster. Even a 12th man in this league can earn a lot of money. I am disappointed he did not get a better ovation if what I read here is true. He has got 2 real good centers in front of him, so i will be shocked frankly if he makes it.

He'll always have a "place in his heart" for Utah. From a basketball standpoint, I appreciate what Jaron did for the team, he just didnt' have the talent to be a good center, or even a decent back up center. Glad that we finally got him off our roster, now get rid of Harpring, dead weight.

Your entitled to your opinion but I for one am very thankful to Jarron for the effort and attitude he demonstrated while in Utah. He was a solid player that contributed a great deal. Not everyone has to be a star to have an impact. Some people have to play a role. Thanks Jarron and good luck!

It's laughable to see all of these so called basketball experts critique a player or team. Jazz fans some of the most unrealistic around. Do you think you can have 13 stars on your team and win? Show me one other team in the NBA that does not have roll players. Even if all they do is fill a spot for practice, that is how teams are built. Collins stepped up when needed. He should be appreciated not just for what he did on game days, but what he added to the team and the community. I wish we had a couple more just like him. If some of the more talented players had his heart and desire, we would be the best team in the league.

The dude is highly educated and highly evolved. He'll be successful in what ever he pursues. He was a refreshing change in character from the tatooed self indulged, me first neanderthals that ESPN and the NBA are always shoving down our throats.

Collins was good player for the Jazz and was always a class act. I wish him luck whereever his basketball playing takes him.
Thank You Jarron | 11:59 a.m. Oct. 16, 2009
You are a class act and you will be missed in Utah. Good Luck!

Collins is likely better than any of teh centers on the current roster. We will miss you Jaron. You did a great job here in Utah.

To those that take issue with the remarks of "warmfuzzies", you beat me to it.

This forum will let anybody "sound-off" like they know "something-about-something".

To "an adult in a world of brats"- you also beat me to it RE tatoos ...to help them "identify and define themselves".

Jarron apparently has held on to values instilled from another era, and I for one am glad to see it.

To reiterate ... when Jerry leaves the NBA, I'm gone too.

You experts that don't know the history of the game can have it.

It was nice to see Jarron. It was funny when he was at the free throw line, the crowd did try to boo him but their heart just wasn't in it. I do hope he gets a chance with Portland. He will always be one of the former Jazz players that everyone was glad was here.

He practiced every day; stayed in great shape; knew all the other teams plays. There were reasons he lasted eight years. He was a scout and a key scrimmage player.....and he is a very smart guy. If more guys had his approach, team videos would be far less important.
He Has What Others Don't | 1:24 p.m. Oct. 17, 2009
Regardless whether Jarron makes it at Portland he has and will have forever a degree from Stanford that will serve him well the rest of his life. Alot of these wannebe's playing in the NBA and on these blogs have very little preparation for life and it's issues. This man will be successful at whatever he decides after his playing days are done.
