So where's Logan been for the last three games? I didn't see him at all against CSU, USU, or UNLV. Has he been injured? If someone could enlighten me, I'd appreciate it. All I know is that he's the best open-field tackler that BYU has. All my best to him.

Dave

It's a very good thing when corners are not noticed. He has been playing and doing very well.

Aggie

It's not even a blessing in disguise that he got picked up by the Y. SDSU lost to Idaho, and even we beat Idaho on a regular basis. I cheer against BYU only once a year and I enjoy seeing kids like this get the chance to prove themselves. Having played college football myself, I've seen myriad examples of these types of kids who go on to do great things with their lives simply because of the confidence they gain when someone believes in and trusts them. I learned long ago that football seasons come and go along with the players, with new intrigue every year. The faces change, but the stories don't and we're lucky that we have three universities in the state that value character of the players over and above abilities (in most cases). We are always well-represented on the national stage when we travel by outstanding coaches and players and that's a tribute to the way we're taught and raised here. Good luck to all three teams this season!

Brian

It's great to have such outstanding young men playing for the Cougars. SDSU's loss is certainly our gain and I hope Brian has a great game in San Diego.

Thanks for choosing BYU Brian!

Hopefully not FSU repeat

Welll I hope he has a great game I am a little worried about SDSU star reciever who is 6 foot 3, he is supposed to be a high NFL prospect... Could be a repeat of how well Logan did VS FSU recicvers... He is better than the other CB's we have but still too small to do any real damage VS any 6 foot plus reciever, good luck Brian.

Go Brian

Just turn around more to see the ball coming at you. You are undersized and so the offenses will be looking to pick on you like Florida State did. Just stay with your receiver and then turn back to the ball. You could have several additional take-aways and a lot fewer pass interference calls if you just look back to the ball coming right at you.

But size is one thing, heart and effort are another. Glad to see you anxious for the game. Do good. Make us all proud.

jmw

ok, lets quit bragging about our college football days.

FSU repeat

The difference is SDSU won't be able to protect their QB like FSU did. BYU's pass rush will be in Lindley's face all game and make it easy on the DBs. Logan will be just fine.

Logan

If you didn't see Logan against CSU, you probably didn't watch the game. He had an interception on the third play and returned it to the 20. Then he had about 3 PI calls go against him. He was probably the most visible defensive player BYU had that game.

manaen

I see this as a belated settling of accounts for when BYU passed on LDS QB Todd Santos, who then played for SDSU 1984-7. We paid dearly for that little faux pas.

Cougar Fan

I think that BYU has some great up and coming talent at CB. I think Bradley is great and Buckner will be really good down the road. Logan is a great player, I don't care about his size, he has talent. When he has been burned this year it wasn't because of his size it was just simple mistakes on his part. (He more than makes up for his size with his ability.) Happy to finally have some talent at CB position.

Wyo Cougar Fan

I happened to be in San Diego and saw the game with SDSU. I came away pretty discourged. Next saw BTY beat Wyoming three years ago and then I made the trip to Dallas and saw the Oklahoma game. Feeling good about the coaches, players and AD. Go..Cougs..!

re: manaen

Excuse me? You say we "paid dearly" from 1984-87 for passing on Todd Santos? BYU went 3-1 v. SDSU during that time. BYU's overall records during those years were 13-0, 11-3, 8-5, and 9-4. Not really "paying dearly" if you ask me.

ned

Apparently there is a kid from Canada that walked on this year and will be playing next year. He is about 6'2" and while garnering freshman of the year honors in Canadian college football at the quarterback position, some of his coaches claim he is an even better defensive back. Very atheltic, strong and fast.

The future of BYU football is certainly improving yearly.

BYU FAN...NOT a Logan Fan

I'm wondering if you guys watch the same BYU games I do? I would have done the same thing as the SDSU coach did. Not a chance I would offer a scholarship to Brian Logan. I'm not excited to watch this NFL prospect receiver have a record setting day. Honestly I really am confused about what you guys see in this Logan kid. On 3rd and 5 he plays 15 yards off...come on!!! Everyone talks about his tackling...How hard is it to play that far off, let everyone catch everything thrown, then tackle them? Hmm...Not too impressive in my book. BYU will win but BYU's corners will get owned once again. Im tired of hearing that this kid is a blessing!!! A blessing for BYU or the teams they play?

Welcome to BYU Brian

Logan has done a great job for us. I have no problem with Logan and Buckner sharing the corner spot depending upon the area of the field that BYU is defending. Yes it would be great if Logan were 6 ft 2 in tall with the same speed and agility that he has, but he is what he is. Brian, hold your head high out on the field and keep giving it all you got. Many of your detractors would dream of having your skills, heart, and talent and the chance to start at a D1 program. Just keep working on your technique and staying focused upon your assignments.

Utah Fan....

Welcome to BYU Brian, you made a good choice. Also, has anyone noticed the dudes arms? He's got some serious pipes!

Good to see such a great young man playing for BYU. Good luck.

When I played pop warner....

Ok just kidding.

Good luck Logan, keep up the good work!!!!

p.s. just watch those PI calls.

Re: Hopefully not FSU repeat

Like the FSU repeat they had last year? I think the score was something like 41-12 BYU.

It's quite simple really, put 4 DB's on their 1 6'3 receiver, put 4 LB's on their 1 running back and put the D line on their quarterback and they are stone cold shut down.

BYU FAN...

is really just a BYU hater.
