Barzee, now medicated, returns to court on Friday

Ms. Barzee now looks like a very capable and thinking person, whereas before she looked like she was in such a stupor of some sort. There is a "light" that has gone on in her, and she realizes what trouble she helped cause with Mitchell.

I'm glad that the medication was forced, and that her mind is opening up to what is currently happening. It's just a shame that such evilness came to pass.

Just wondering if there is anyone out there with experience in these matters.

What exactly is the method used by these authorities to "force" medication into someone? (I assume that the old "pill-in-a-wad-of-bread trick" is out, as would be any other deceptive means.) I have this mental image of my four-year-old diabetic daughter when she would have severely low blood sugars; we would have to hold her down and try to squirt whipped cream into her mouth to help get her sugar levels restored.

How is this done?

Poor woman is crazy and has been brainwashed by B. D. Mitchell. Let's keep her where she can be continued to be saved from herself and others. Like Mr. Mitchell himself.

Forced mediation is an abomination. In this case it is only so she can be tried and then will be stopped and she will slip back into dementia and delusions. Where is any justice in that. It is done to get 'a pound of flesh' and no other reason.

Just lock her up in the crazy house... These two people should had been tried and lock up years ago. Some times you have to wonder is there any justice in this country. Maybe...Maybe not?????

If she is convicted and sent to prison, she will continue to receive the medications she needs to function normally while in state/federal custody.... at our expense.... but at least she will understand what she did and why she is incarcerated.

Why do people complain about "at our expense", we could just let them loose and then cut the expense for keeping them locked up. But personally I don't mind the expense for locking them up, I'd rather pay that price than having someone get hurt by them.

As for the the continued court case, could they decide they are dangerous to society and keep them in the state hospital jail for life. I don't really see the difference between being locked up in the mental hospital or the jail, all the same, you don't get to go very far.

Wanda Barzee deserves justice. Justice in this case is the impartial determination of whether or not she committed a crime and the subsequent administration of a punishment. Revenge is not justice. Of course Elizabeth Smart deserves justice but since she did not commit a crime then justice for her is irrelevant. Punishing Wanda Barzee may be just but it will not change the injustice of the crimes committed against Elizabeth Smart.

The legal question is whether a person who has been treated for her mental illness is responsible for what she did when her was a diagnosed victim of mental illness?

This show trial will help those Christians in Utah who feel their need for revenge as been unfulfilled but any judgment in a criminal court will be subjected to appeals.

I see a Pyrrhic victory coming.

In 1964 I attended SLC PBX and Receptionist School with a lovely young girl named Wanda Barzee. She was excited to be engaged and was soon to be married to someone named Talmage Thompson. Could this woman be the same Person? Hard to believe such a nice young woman could have grown into this accused kidnapper! She would be the same age now.
